This is not an irredentist song! On the contrary - it fights the Hungarian irredenta. In 1940 the Hungarian irredenta (supported by Nazi Germany and Fascist Italy) imposed on Romania, thru the 2nd Vienna award, splitting of Northern Transylvania - with a population more than 50% Romanian.
This is NOT an irredentist song but a patriotic one because it refers to the recovery of a Romanian territory kidnapped by the Vienna Dictate by the hortystic Hungary from the will of Hitler and fascist Germany. In fact, in 1919-1921, Romania paid no less than 400 tons of gold to the ethnic Hungarians who had properties in Transylvania and opted for Hungarian citizenship, renouncing the Romanian one.
Kidnapped by Vienna Dictated? Even if you bribe locals, they still won’t accept being under the rule of romanian orcs. Szekelys should not have been stripped away from their fatherland by Romania.

My favorite nationalist songs are "Hora Unirii", "Drum bun" and "Pe al nostru steag e scris unire". These songs have better melodies and better lyrics (they are about brotherhood, courage and union). I would also recommend "Mugur mugurel" by Tudor Gheorghe (the original song is from the era of the Wallachian Uprising of 1821)
@@andoniianus5197 Currently basically all of Transylvania is populated by majority Romanians, but at that time (1940) the northern part that Hungary recieved was mostly Hungarian. I accept that Transylvania is Romanian, but the Second Vienna Award was pretty fair.

If by Dobruja you mean the Cadrilater, then don't worry, Romanians no longer claim that land since most Romanians from there moved north. Romania and Bulgaria agree to each other's borders since the Craiova Treaty. Romania won't cut its ties with Bulgaria just for 1000 Romanians living there. Moldova (the Republic) includes Transnistria. Yes, there are Romanians past the Dniester river, but Transnistria has an equally mixed populations of Russians and Ukrainians.

There's just a little imprecision in the traduction (it's just a detail): at the line "Aveam o tara scumpa si mândra, aveam si iarasi vom avea, vom avea!" "vom avea" means "we will have", "vom" is a particle that means "will" that is conjugated to the 2nd p. plural, and "avea" is the verb "to have" at the infinitive (without the 'a' in "a avea). but in the traduction, it is written "have again". That's how we would say it in English otherwise, but I think it's still worth mentionning this.

@@realdragao6367 Northern Transylvania was majority Romanian. You can Google it too. It was around 50% Romanian, and only 30% Hungarian. Actually from the hypotesis is that it comes from the word 'ardal' which in the celtic languages means area or land. And that is because, as the greeks writers from the second century bc attest in their documents about the space of north of the danube, there were some celtic settlements in the east of Pannonia and western modern day romania. And this fact is once again validated by the accounts written by the greeks about the military campaigns that Burebista had in mid first century against the greek fortresses located on the Black sea shore and against the celts that were located in western modern day romania that were either driven out or mixed with the dacians. And so it is theorized that the dacians kept the word for that land from the celts, and then it stuck with every population that settled the area later.

There's just a little imprecision in the traduction (it's just a detail):
at the line "Aveam o tara scumpa si mândra, aveam si iarasi vom avea, vom avea!"
"vom avea" means "we will have", "vom" is a particle that means "will" that is conjugated to the 2nd p. plural, and "avea" is the verb "to have" at the infinitive (without the 'a' in "a avea).
but in the traduction, it is written "have again". That's how we would say it in English otherwise, but I think it's still worth mentionning this.

Its interesting to see the music from when Romania lost Transylvania compared to say, Erdély induló in which they have Transylvania in the map (referring to Ingen's video on the song btw)
Fun fact: In romania we also say Ardeal to Transylvania which is derived from the hungarian word Erdely
@@realWWdude546 its not derived from hungarian, its of indo-european origin har-deal .. deal is hill and we have it in romanian and har which we have also in romanian (holly, high) is high in indo-european..
It literally means high-hill... and its of dacian origin probably 99%, from its indo-european roots
