I have made unlisted videos, put them in playlists, use them just for the playlist thumbnail. It got comments from randos because they also felt like they found a secret video
99% of the time, I watch videos at 1x speed, the way it was made and meant to be watched and enjoyed. The only update I want is custom thumbnails for shorts on Desktop! I'm so tired of sending myself the video to upload from my phone and then forgetting to pick a custom frame from the video and having to re-upload again.
@Big_Tall_In_Short same. I posted a video on my content channel last night, and it isn't getting any views. Usually, I have at least 30k before midnight. Currently only at 7k in 15 hours. Very unusual for me.
As a fitness channel, I really like the option to get more specific with the playback speed! I think it will be super helpful for some of my viewers that need to slow exercises down for their comfort level. I'm currently watching this video as normal playback speed 😁

I think the sleep timer has been in secret experimentation. I listen to stuff when I fall asleep and I'd wake up or notice after about an hour that RUclips had stopped playing with a popup on my screen telling me that I was inactive and the video had paused. I didn't set any timer and who is RUclips to tell me when I've fallen asleep! LOL

I usually play videos on normal speed. Or I set it to slower. I very rarely set it to faster. (It's also something my COVID-brain can't handle, I think. Game speed builds are always a challenge so I set them slower, much slower). As for the playlists, I find them ideal for Let's play videos, for example of the sims. There are quite a few Sims 4 content creators who make Let's Play series that are story Let's Play videos, instead of the normal Let's play videos. It's great to see all the videos of that one series in a playlist together instead of having to search the channel for the next video in that series.
I thought youtube made a big deal about disabling clickable links in Shorts comments, descriptions, and the vertical live feed to reduce spam and scams.
KEEP IT SIMPLE! This is what happens when RUclips has too much time on their hands.... overcomplicating everything. People just want good video content that is easy to find.

I mostly watch videos in normal speed unless the person speaks very slowly. You speak very fast, just at the verge that I would need to slow down a bit, so in the future I might watch you at 0.95 speed!
i always watch video in 2x speed , so having that setting as default 2x in every video is a god blessing, no need to manually speed again everytime watch new video

Normal speed. But I slow it down often (I have sensory overload issues and comprehension issues at times). Sometimes with some people, x 0.75 is still too fast, but x0.5 is painful to listen to. So this adjustment (when it comes to the mobile app which is the only way I use RUclips) is great for me. Also, sometimes I need music a bit slower so it doesn’t overwhelm my senses, but then x0.75 may cause too much distortion. So it’s either don’t listen, or be in pain, or listen to some really crappy version of a song. Going down in increments is great for this (also if there’s a podcast or someone’s reading something and I need it slower so my brain can keep up; like with an audiobook). All in all, this is a great update, in my opinion, for my issues. All that being said, I actually discovered this video because I was looking to see if anyone mentioned the new mobile app feature where the minimized video is now a square instead of a bar, because I hate it. It really gets in the way. If I’m minimizing, it’s because I need to see what I’m doing and click around on the screen. Having to move around that damn box is gonna get real old real fast.

I felt that same frustration scheduling my shorts yesterday. It seems like such an easy thing to be able to select a thumbnail from the video or upload custom. Right on desktop… COME ON RUclips!

I watch everything on 1.25 for the most part and sometimes 1.5. As a result I think I've broken my brain...1.0 speed doesn't sounds like slow motion to me now hahaha
I just watch videos at normal speed. It often takes me 50% or 100% longer to watch a video because I get distracted and pause and rewind constantly. Making them faster wouldn't help.
Why isn't the youtube viewer on a phone optimized for landscape mode? I have to close the end screen, then hit a box to go back to portrait, then hit an arrow to minimize, then hit the 'X' to close the video. Four steps to close a video. The studio landscape mode is OK, but they need reorganize the screen probably.

Often I'll need a value between .25 and .5 in order to get something right. Not sure how useful those increments are above 1x though. (Edit: also, watching at 1x)

I Watch everything in 1x speed! If the video is more than an hour and its more of a sit down and talk, education type video, then maybe 2x!
