Melt my heart!! Bless your heart!! Adorable!! This has made me decide to leave my feeders out this winter! I have just bought 2 hummingbird heaters for a couple of my feeders but I think I might do a 3rd feeder with the heating pad idea to keep the little ones warm!! I am hoping I get one or two to stick around for the winter but I live one state north from you so we shall see!🥰❤️
Thanks for watching and good luck with your 2 new hummingbird heaters. I wish I had had them way back when but then the whole heating pad experience never would have happened ❤ It was such an amazing experience!!!
Thanks so much for sharing your video with me. You passed me a card on a mountain bike ride. The video was amazing and I have shared it with lots of friends and family. I is wonderful to know that there are others out there who see members of other species as individuals, individuals with needs and wants. Thanks for making a difference in Rocky and Adrian's lives.
It brings tears and a sweet joy .. to see these babies warm and snug and safe and simply receiving the gifts given .. oh that we would be so wise as the tiniest among us. Thank you 1000 times over for being there for them in that cold winter of Sedona.
It's not diminishing, it's alive and well in the minority of the population that is not honored, the highly sensitives. If we all work to accept and praise introverts and sensitive people, the world will be a better place. The extrovert ideal and the need to be 'on' all the time hurts everyone.
One way you can do this is by listening to the quiet voices in the world, and the women. Men's voices and opinions are everywhere and people don't even notice the women are quieter and less prevalent. Humans often mistakenly assume, in this age of 'might is right!' that those with the loudest voices not only have the best ideas but should be listened to and are correct. Listen to the quiet voices too, there's much untapped wisdom and kindness there.
Lovely video - very endearing and I love the shots of Rocky "supervising" the thawing of the nectar! (Sadly our apartment balcony doesn't have an external electrical outlet so we have to use other measures, e.g. swapping one feeder with another, taping a handwarmer heat pad on the underside of the feeder, wrapping the reservoir section in bubble wrap to insulate it, etc. If it works, it's good :-)
What ever works. It all helps the little ones. Thanks for helping yours. There are a lot of ideas out there now since I videoed Rocky and Adrian. Just Google. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment. ~Pat~

What a beautiful soul this man has. The trust from these precious little birds to let him in their world! And to stand there while he's using a blow dryer, simply amazing! Now I don't feel like such an oddball for setting up an electric blanket for the little stray kitties in the winter. :) Thank you for having such a good heart!

What a gem to watch and take in. Such beauty and wonder to me. I feel a special bond to hummingbirds, losing my Mother to a drunk driver, other family members were also hurt badly. My darkest days followed this time, as I sat one day on my Moms steps outside her house, wondering how I'd ever go on without her in my life, a beautiful hummingbird came straight up to my hands paused, his/hers wings moving so fast, he then moved to eye level with me and stayed there for quiet some time. I knew, in my heart this was my sign it felt as real as anything I've ever felt. Even now, when things have gotten so tough, I've had several times when hummingbirds come to me. Its not happenstance, its my assurance, my wonder. Such peace. I know, my Mother is looking down upon me.. thank you for this video, it really touched my heart.
Thank you for watching and taking the time to write. So very sorry about your loss of your mother :O( I am glad Hummingbirds bring you some peace, they are such special little ones Peace always, ~Pat~

Oh my God Pat ♥ You seriously are one of the sweetest humans on this earth. I just love that you put this heating pad out for these hummingbirds to keep the feeder from freezing but they ended up loving the warmth ♥ Adrian and Rocky are so beautiful! I have never seen a hummingbird in real life. it looks to me like they don't fear humans at all! You unthawed a feeder and Rocky sat there the entire time not even scared of the hairdryer sound? This made me cry, serious happy tears and covered head to toe goosebumps this is one of the most beautiful videos and stories ever told ♥ HUGE thumbs up.

So very sorry about your loss of your mother :O(
I am glad Hummingbirds bring you some peace, they are such special little ones
Peace always,
~Pat~

Thank you for making the effort you did, and for the video. Wonderful. I have the feeders up during winter, the snow, freezing, bring the bottles in at night. I live in Prescott, so it becomes colder here than where you live. I'll buy a heating pad, great idea. Again, thank you.

@@blueskeye Just showed up on Reshareworthy that I subscribe to. Random animal videos from RUclips. I am a wildlife carer and rescue many birds and animals. and love seeing these stories.

It is hard to believe it has been almost 9 years ago that I posted it!
Happy New Year!!!
~Pat~
@@blueskeye Happy New Year from Australia. There were some lovely comments on the page about your story. I feed many birds here, especially as we have had 2 years of drought and bushfires which destroyed a lot of natural food sources. It is quite a harsh environment where I live and we are always praying for the rain.
@@cazgreen thanks for helping all the little ones. We just have to try and do our small part in the big picture if things don't we :O)
I saw that about the fires you had :O(
We are in a terrible drought also here in Prescott, AZ :O(

Absolutely beautiful, Pat.
Thank you Susan. One of the most amazing Hummingbird experiences I will ever have❤
Oh my God Pat ♥ You seriously are one of the sweetest humans on this earth.
Thank you Heather. It is by far one of the most amazing experiences I will ever have in life. I will never forget Rocky & Adrian and we will live on forever in Cyberspace. When I 1st posted this I never expected it to go viral like it did and I will be totally amazed the day it hits 2 million views. That's a lot of smiles and happy tears and that's all I wanted to accomplish. We all need to see more good!!!

@@blueskeye It DESERVES to go viral Pat ♥ This truly was extraordinary and I had never seen a hummingbird story like this. The fact you did the heating pad for them just made me melt. This is a wonderful video, I would love to have Hummingbirds light on my hand so I can feed them. Thanks for sharing this video...
Thanks Larry :O)
If you stand very still facing your feeder and place your fingers over the entire perch area by touching thumb to thumb and index finger to index finger some of them will perch on your fingers. That has been my experience anyway :O)
oh thank you..and it's cool how he's not affraid of the noise of the blow dryer
I was just as surprised believe me. It was all just so amazing when it happened :O)
How did you come across this video? Just wondering where people see it.
What a great idea❣️ I've been trying to figure out how to keep the feeders from freezing. We took the feeders inside last winter & in the mornings hung them back outside. The pad would also warm the hummers up in the morning. Thanks for sharing!
This was a long time ago Alfil and all I could come up with at the time. If you Google "Heated Hummingbird Feeders" there are some great one out there such as this one that my friends use and they say is great-

Crazy that Rocky sat there while you used the hair dryer. My 17 lb Bengal cat hides when I use the hair dryer! Lol! But seriously a great video. I'd do the same if needed (in Phoenix so usually not a problem). I've been using my handheld feeder and getting up close w the hummers I feed. They bring such joy!
I was just as surprised when it happened believe me. Too funny about your cat-LOL!!!
Those hand held feeders are GREAT!!!
