Dear ladies, I hate seeing you get all torn up & scratched to ribbons crawling through the trees & undergrowth!! ; I was thinking that it might be a good idea to take a pair of succeteers or garden cutters with you next time to help you find your way through without you getting injured. Thank you for yet another delightful video & for sharing your adventures with us. Love from Sydney Australia. 😊🐨
Hello ladies. Since I know very well what is it to be completly surrounded by brambles full of spikes, I suggest you to buy and carry some pair of shears maybe. It get me out of trouble many times. And, knowing your "style", you should know that you can find some lovely vintage little winemaker shears on many selling web sites. The smallest ones aren't too heavy to carry and I think it may be an efficient way to seek more beautiful things that you show us. And these oldies are still way better and resistant then the modern ones. Love your channel guys. Cheers from south of France.
A couple of times I found larger clay pots. Be sure to always look inside of them. Two of them that I found were actually filled! One was completely filled with marbles and the other was filled with buttons, small ceramic animals and a bunch of other cool little trinkets like jacks, marbles, small led toys and random goodies :)
Get peppermint oil to ward off the bugs. I love when you find alley-gobs. They remind me of my sister who passed 30 years ago. She was the jacks champion in the park district of our town when she was 12, back in the 60s. I miss her, she was 4 years older than I and I wanted to be just like her.
I read an article from the University of Chicago about Washington's home and Male Hair Care. There were some curlers found in excavations at his home and surrounding area that had the "WB" mark on them. They don't know who it stands for, so no help there, but I found it very interesting that these curlers with the same marks were found on Washington's home property.
Well now I know where my mum got the phrase: I'll snatch that wig right off your head!" She wore wigs in the 60's and 70's for different looks. I had one on one day and that's what she said. LOL
Nature does so much to keep humans away, doesn't it? The weather, thorns, poison plants, bug that bite & sting, Nettles, burrs. The snow baby has such a cute face, I hope you find a way to make it a doll in a fuzzy snowsuit.
Thank you for the history of the wig snatchers. I tried to not laugh but the more stories you told I simply couldn't help it. The boy in the basket was the best ... and the dog. Congrats on your finds. Hope the bug bites going away quickly. See ya next time.
The wig curlers, the alleygobs, the buttons are all time travelers in their own way. They lived useful and interesting lives only to lie dormant until found. They stretch from their time to ours to tell a tiny story, each fascinating in itself. Dumpdiggers are like household archaeologists- bringing everyday life into focus in a lively, immediate way. I’m not going to say non academic- because you do due diligence and research for your finds. Please keep doing what you do. Maybe one day I can come & join you! 😊☺️😊✨
Perhaps make two big wigs for you both to wear in the cold winter. Would be a good laugh to wear them mudlarking. I dare you! Or make some for the higher up dolls...
For mosquito bites, (I learned last year during covid 19 lock down), if you put hand sanitizer on mosquito bites asap they will quickly stop itching altogether and just fade away! Worth a try after already getting bit. Love the finds!
I've been in intensive care in hospital for over a week now and your video was such a lovely break from all the beeping machines and moaning bodies around me. Thank you for taking me outside for a while❤
We are so sorry to hear that! We hope you feel better soon! Kate was in intensive care for about 2-3 weeks once and we both know what a scary lifeless place they are xxxx
In the early 70's my eldest sister learned wig making during her hairdressing apprenticeship. A very arduous and long process. She still has her books with the history and pictures of the old wigs and curlers. Fascinating stuff. LOVE it. LOVE the history!! xx Teresa ❤🇦🇺
I misspelled that half-moon w/the patina (is what I wrote, but spell check changed it to the screwy way it came out) 😐. Painted yellow, it could be on the wall of the Nursery!
That was such an interesting history about wig snatchers, i haven't heard of that before. I like the melted bottle and the coin. Thank you and have a good week
What a story about the wig curlers but ir was very interesting but fancy having your wig ripped off your head as you were walking along it must have been pretty embarrassing.i loved the littleblue burnt bottle the colour was lovley. Hope your stings and bites recover.take care 🐱🐱
I would say that the bottle stopper 🚏, the little bottle and the claw pipe stem, little boys head, wig curler, and the coins made up for the mosquito 🦟 and the nettles.
All your videos look so idylic and peaceful but little do we the viewers know how much you ladies suffer to bring us such lovely content. Believe me we so appreciate it. May your bug bites heal soon.
i love your stories and adventures you enjoy daily. My location is usa in the south and bugs and bites are part of my upbringing as a child; my friends and I fed many bugs in our lives. We got used to it, but no fun for sure. No bottle dumps in my upbringing, but I feel less of a person for it. I love history and collecting things. Give me 5 things today, and I will put 3 things away and the other 2 things in a collection. I am 75 now, so you have some idea of how many collections I have. I collect History also and try to apply that knowledge when I can. The times you two share are what is important, nothing else compares to it. Shut my mouth now. Enjoy your day and thank you for what you share. Joseph from Tennessee,USA
With one of the small dolls head/figurine head and shoulders, you could make a "bust" for the doll house - by filing the figurine flat at the bottom, then gluing it on a small piece of wood that has been stained and polished.
The next time you go to a thorny place, take a pair of nippers/gardening clippers, it will make things so much easier and it all grown back within a month. I loved the video with all the great finds.
I really love this channel. I especially like that you work with the surrounding you search within rather than destroying things like others do. You respect the countryside and nature. This channel is so gentle and relaxing. Thank you for that.x
The info on the wig curlers was hilarious and interesting. Great research work. You two certainly put yourselves through the wringer with all your burrowing efforts through the vegetation!! Just rewards though. Thank you. Sue and Ian
Hello 👋 from New York USA you Guy's found Some Amazing Finds my Favorite Definitely Was the Little Bottle Stopper and the Wig Curler Thank you for Bringing me Along with you Guy's I can't wait to see What you Find Next 😊 😀 ☺️
Hi great video! I don’t know the science behind it but copper oxide is sometimes added to molten glass to give it the blue colour, so I’m guessing when small bottle was melted it somehow turned back copper sort of!!! Love the miniature makes as well.
Wow, cool finds 😎 I was worried when Kate crawled through the thorny vines (with Indiana Jones backpack 🥰) that she would get stuck, but made it 😁 Love the little boy snow figure and blue melted bottle ❤🥰
I am so happy I found this channel, Growing up I was full of such wonder and I was such an explorer. My family would call me the real life Tinker Bell the way I’d find Knickknacks and tinker them into something better. Growing up is a pain. And I’ve learned that when someone tells you to cherish the younger days, to really do so as they’re gone in a blink of an eye. This channel brings me back to those roots full of optimism, wonder and creativity. Thank you guys for what you do. This past week has been so nice and subtle since finding your channel and im forever grateful
what a cute little boy you found It’s not often you find boys. Maybe you can make him whole again. Be careful of mosquito bites you need a good spray for your skin and clothing. You are both real troopers. I do hope you can give that little boy a body. He has such a cute face. Two ! Alley gobs ! Even though you didn’t get very many things you found interesting things. Considering the heat, bites, stings and getting scratched you did well. Lots of love from Diane in upstate New York.
Amazing that you can just go out and find great dumps in Kent... Seems to be full of them! That little shard of pottery with boats on would be perfect cut into a rectangle and framed for the nursery as a picture!
You need to take some garden cutters with you, even I could not get thought like that 😹😹😹😹 Here in Australia we use peppermint plants and lemongrass around the house as this cuts down the mozzies coming into the house by 50% Maybe braiding some lemongrass into bracelets for when you go out and about the mozzies don’t like the smell.
Another terrific film, ladies! I love the B roll shots as they, coupled with the music choice, are so peaceful. I look forward to each one you put out. Thank you for your hard work and time.
That sweet little melted bottle might make a nice umbrella stand! Lovely episode, thanks for putting yourselves in such uncomfortable situations to bring us these fun videos.
This is an odd aside: It is amazing to me how well behaved ivy is in your country. Here in the Willamette Valley of Oregon (and some coastal areas too) introduced ivy is very aggressive, and has killed even big trees by strangling them. English ivy is great -- in England!
Hi .just read your comment about our well behaved English ivy.oh but that were true my poor garden is besieged by it .its grown through the hedges .climbed up a poplar and ash tree .ive tried everything.but someone told me to spray vinigar at the root.just one problem how on earth do you find the root .? I think this is the best channel on RUclips, for me at least. I love insects, plants, flowers, birds, and especially material bits of history, even fragments that most people would not see as valuable. Thank you so much for sharing with us!

Loved seeing Kate doing yoga moves amongst the brambles
You two are tougher than I would be.
I think we need a potato coin update!
A pair of secateurs would be handy
I absolutely love Fluer's dress!!!
Thank you! :) :)
Love from the old lady in Texas God bless you❤ always and forever

You definitely need a clipper in your pocket to get access to some goodies

Sorry it was a miserable day. funny that when you mention hair I think about the beautiful ringlets that form in your hair when it gets wet Kate

Caboodling in the bushes
Interesting history on the 1800s wings 🫢
Kate, great idea with the bulb. Loved your video

These videos bring me peace. 💕from🇺🇸
I think it might be a good idea to pack a pair of pruners with you when you go back there! Those thorns were nasty!
maybe you should carry a pair of hand clippers for just this instance to cut your branches so you can get out.
A gobbie is still on my bucket list!
I use Avon o so soft spray to ward off midges etc x
Thanks we will try it :)
Very interesting roller find. Like the tiny bottle stopper. Enjoy you ladies always. Neat coins.
11:35 When you ask Kate what she is doing. Why, yoga of course!!
Kate, the absolute icon, crawling through a bramble hedge wearing an Indiana Jones backpack 👏 🏆 Another lovely video, thank you!
She loves that back pack haha :)
Wow, great history on the wigs! Lol Great to know where "bigwig" came from!
Thank you for the history of the wig snatchers. I tried to not laugh but the more stories you told I simply couldn't help it. The boy in the basket was the best ... and the dog. Congrats on your finds. Hope the bug bites going away quickly. See ya next time.
The illustrations are particularly funny :)
Some nice finds enjoyed watching
What a great adventure difficulty level 💯
You need to take secateurs with you, or just carry some in the car for these situations. Lovely finds. 💖
Love the game pieces, I used to play this at school with my friends
The lengths you are willing to go to practice your craft.
