the primordials and chaos tier weapons sound like ancient and primal ancient from diablo and the chaos runs sound like nephalem rifts. Following a similar end game grind as diablo sounds like a good direction to go in the borderlands series to me! Thanks for all the fast info as always Joltz

i'm kinda optimistic about this. If what Joltz said was true, that these Chaotic and Primordial pieces of gear are the way they found to make stuff viable at endgame without messing up early game, i think that's awesome. If they really work like flat stat boots to the gun and aren't entirely new rarities (which i think is the right call, given how they work), it would still be cool to have the color of the loot beam change to accommodate for it. I'd love Primordial "rarity" to be Red, i like red :D
Also i cannot stress enough how much i LOVE that we have to work our way up to endgame again. It was such a weird design choice to make players able to just finish the story and go directly to the highest difficulty of the game in BL3, and it barely had any downsides to it. You could literally get a Crit/Hail from Moxxi and farm vendors for 20 minutes and have a build capable of taking on Mayhem 10. Again, i'm SO GLAD that's not going to be a thing in this game, it ruined playthroughs for me in BL3

@@eatshitful it didn't ruin the WHOLE game, just the activity I liked doing the most, which is to start a fresh new character and experience the game again.
It's true that i could have worked my way up the "intended" way (idk if there IS an intended way in this game to begin with), and I have done that one time, but it feels like such a waste of time. And it's not fun as well, i tried increasing a Mayhem level every time I completed the True Maliwan Takedown, but the game simply isn't built for this. It became boring after a while, since the challenge is always the same.
Chaotics and Primordials sound very similar to the Ancient and Primal Ancient gear in Diablo 3. Also, loving the fact that the multiclass combos have specific names. I hate mushing two names together to make a shortened name so this is a great little piece of news for me.
This looks insanely exciting and I'm getting more and more hyped for it with each passing day

I'm cautiously optimistic so far. Randomised endgame is a massive plus. If now they introduce adventure mode so I can just roll a new character and start doing content rather than having to go through the story, I'll never put this game down (just like I still periodically gravite to diablo 3)

They took SO MUCH from Diablo series mechanics and I LOVE IT to the core, as a DIablo fan.
i will say personally for the op levels in bl2 i didnt mind refarming gear for each new op level my biggest issue was refarming quest items. if they had a way to somehow get quest items outside of the quest after you completed it that would have been fine for me. i personally enjoy the borderlands type of grind where it is killing enemies, getting gear, min maxing the gear, and then testing out the build. i think bl2 op levels fell short due to a mix of the quest items being a slog to refarm especially when not on pc, slag being a requirement that limits build diversity, and the fact that the drops from op levels at the peak just really werent worth it. after a run through the peak the only thing you have going for you is "yay i beat op whichever number time to move onto the next level and farm everything again only to get no reward for my efforts"
Agreed. Don’t make quest items if we can’t get them after completing the quest
I think quest items should be able to drop as world loot after said mission is done, items will be added to world drop loot, or chance to snag from a special vendor for a special currency.
@@alphacanidae1163 that would have been while not perfect much better than how bl2 was set up. if you were on pc you could do some file editing but on console you had to redo the entire campaign just to get certain items. it was very sad to do.

oh my GAWD yes! I'm so looking forward to this. The Chaotics and Primordials sound incredible! Of course ... it almost sounds like I won't be alting nearly as much as I did in BL3. I dunno.... seems like there are so many different combinations that can be explored. Bottom line is, this is a GREAT addition to the Borderlands IP and it's going to be so incredible. Can't wait to see what kinds of builds you put together.
Just have to say I love the Mega Man 2 Wily's Castle Stage 1/2 remix you got in the background. Grew up with that game, would recognize it virtually everywhere.

Okay this is sounding better and better. 20 tiers and not crazy scaling so you'll still use lower tier chaotics to farm through to primordials
Making this tie in with the chamber like digistruct peak but with tons of variation, and adding to this with DLC, all sounds well thought out. I wonder if they plan to add chaos levels post launch or primordial-only gear

i was hoping so hard that there are no tier levels on gear etc. on the other side i guess its still better to have them than not. overall i have the impression they put way more thoughts into it than befor, they for sure got me on the hook there :)

Was playing bl2 and while grinding for a maggie i saw that one of the zaford grunts was actually holding a FREAKING GUB
I feel like Chaotic and Primordial gear might be new rarities. For starters, the loot bunnies had a rainbow on them that also had red. We've never had a red rarity officially in Borderlands but we've had rainbow before as Everfescent (I think that's how you spell it?).
Secondly, and this is the main reason. They removed some Manufacturers from Wonderlands, and at one point they said that Pearls weren't in 3 because they had too many Manufacturers. Though mods may have suggested otherwise, I think it was more for the last gen versions of Borderlands 3 that memory was an issue. Regardless It wouldn't surprise me if Chaotic and Primordial become rarities.
Chaos chambers are sounding more and more like rifts from Diablo 3 and that’s not a bad thing but adding chaos and primordial items just sounds like primals from Diablo 3 and I really hated farming them. A god roll spell already sounded like a grind adding anoints and looking for a primordial version to that god roll hard pass.
True but at least we get stat re-rolls on gear. How much of a pain that depends on moon orb costs and farming but I’m optimistic.
It seems like the new "rarities" aren't nearly as necessary to farm for. Since they get unlocked at different times. And not nearly as often
Just use a non god roll version of whatever weapon. In bl3 having 200% bonus damage was a pretty big game changer but in this game the enchantments are way toned down. Sure having a perfect weapon is still better than a really good weapon but that doesn't mean you absolutely NEED the best of the best

Could primordials be a version of primal ancient weapons from diablo 3? Basically rolling with the best stats / parts for that weapon.

so we're going back to bl2 where for you to go to higher difficulty you need to repeat the same tower over and over to unlock the "new" difficulty?

Yeah kind of sounds like the same thing you get one level then you get more gear than you get another level and you get more gear so boring and it gets so just the same old lame thing mind you I love borderlands 2 it's a fun ass game lots of fun things to do in the game and then we had borderlands 3 nice game I enjoyed it my son doesn't even want to talk about that game anymore in fact if I have anything to say about it he just ignores me all together cuz he doesn't like it I understand there are reasons like I don't know legendaries not being legendaries and then gearbox I don't know let's say buffing certain weapons only to have those same weapons nerve to later on because they didn't like that everybody else was using them well maybe just maybe if gearbox gave all the weapons mayhem scaling like they were supposed to do then people would use all different kinds of weapons but when you have weapons that don't really do anything as soon as you get to mayhem level 10 or 11 you're kind of stuck with certain guns and weapons that will only work on certain builds plus we had like Zayn's capstone that wasn't working and the way gearbox fixed it is they didn't do anything to it they just moved it around and put something else in his place and I've been told many times that this wasn't working or how about that they nerfed skills with your character so your things don't work like you're supposed to and it's nice you can watch these other players to these great builds but guess what when you get to try to do those you can't do them because gearbox nerfed it and it's sad because it brings people in only to get more money only to have the same people find out that they can't play the game that they want to and the way they want to play it because gearbox doesn't like that maybe gearbox needs to start thinking about the players who give them the money so they can get lots more money happy players are more happy to give their money to companies that care about them you guys have lost a lot of people due to the fact you don't care about the people who play this game I still love this game I thought there's a lot of good things about it anything could be better so instead of focusing on wonderland they need to start focusing on their previous games because obviously if they're going to do that to borderlands 3 then why would I want to buy anything new from them because they're going to do the same thing like they did and borderlands 3 that they're going to do with any new game they come out with so you're going to have to prove to me that you're actually really care about your customers the end users which is me and all the other people out here who like to play this game and mind you there are a lot of people who have the same mindset and think alike but they would like to see we get to treated the way we're supposed to it's not fair to have these new people come on here this is a great build from one of these RUclipsrs and now they can't do it I wonder why, maybe gearbox is only using them to attract more players to buy the game only to have those same players leave and be disappointed more discontinued to play and just not say that much about it I don't know I still like borderlands I know that three can do so much better there's so much more things they can do to three but the question will remain we will see soon enough and you'll see all these wonderful legendaries unique weapons that are pretty much garbage because when you get to the chaos levels or whatever they're going to call them op levels don't matter they won't be good for nothing are they going to repeat themselves or are they going to do something better we'll see and that's what I'm going to do really I really don't see much in all the hype in tiny tina wonderlands, sorry but I you know I have to say something and it just feels sad that players are the ones who get the short and the stick who basically get to beta test games because the company just released them and we'll fix them as we go they don't release a full functioning game and I know that there will be bugs and they will find them which is good and make improvements so I hope good things come but I'm just going to wait and see if the same old thing happens again and if it does well I'm not buying any games from this company at all I will get the last two DLCs for borderlands 3 just so I can have everything hope for the best we will see
@@chrisbucklin7048 I played BL3 daily for 2 years. Every single day. 7 vault hunters at max level all in mayhem 10/11. 4 mule characters with nothing but backpacks of class mods. Yet after all that & after reading your novel there…I had a blast with the game never experienced the bullshit that you took all that time to type out. When Zane’s green tree was considered garbage…I was rocking a green tree capstone build put it on Reddit & got congrats on the unorthodox build. For months I had a purple tree Fl4K build that was smashing both takedowns on mayhem 11 & this is when purple tree Fl4K was & still is a meme. Funny how it works that if you stop fucking caring bout what everyone else says is trash or how a build is no good…you actually enjoy the games you play. How many times would I seriously have noticed that I’m affected by nerfs/buffs if I was never on here or Reddit, etc…?? How bout a possible ZERO. This bullshit drives me god damn NUTZ.
I just hope primordial is it’s own thing like this games version of pearls
My question is dose it work like mayhem in bl3 when you get a chaos lvl dose it work in the whole game or just in the choas chamber and do you have to play with the highest lv to go up or can you pick a low lv and grind a bit and just jump when you need new stuff

This is very interesting. I hated refarming every OP level in BL2. love the JRPG aspect cuz I'm a huge pokemon fan. I hope they get the endgame right I'll farm all 20 chaos levels even if they don't get it right on release to patch it soon after some feedback

Idk if this has been mentioned yet, but I really hope they reduce the time it takes after you die to respawn. There’s no need to have that animation anymore.

These Primordial gear pieces sound a lot like primal gear from Diablo 3, which is a very rare drop with guaranteed godroll stats.
this sounds like the progression into endgame we've been hoping for... i hope that chaos level 20 will bring a real challenge instead of a cakewalk.
yeah, im analogizing it to digistruct peak 2.0: even more random, hidden raid bosses, actually good loot, and, of course, an abundance of nacho cheese. (i said that because, in real life, it has been quite an eventful year.)

Id be fine with the chaos levels if they Don't make gear for each level. Keep gear max level and just use chaos levels to add challenge and essentially let us balance the game how we want.
I really want to get this game, but they seem to be doubling down... again on the things I felt were bad in bl2 AND bl3.
From what other sources have heard, there is no other scaling outside of these chaos tier sub-rarities. No extra chaos levels on gear to have to refarm every single time, just the extra chaos sub-rarities once you reach a certain tier. So, while it's still there, it's also a lot less frequent (and still optional if you just wanna play on lower chaos levels.)
@@CaptainNarwhal1997 I really hope that is the case. That would be soo much better for literally every type of player there is. I'm one who will play whatever the top level end game is, but I'd rather have the choice to play it and not have gear inconsistency when changing difficulty having all different leveled gear. Because I swapped around.
This guy gets it. I don't mind some exclusive gear or even rarities drop on certain difficulty levels but for god's sake don't make me refarm the same guns every few difficulty levels. When it's max level, i want it to be viable.

Random question, we get to pick two classes, one main one secondary, but can we wear armor or the cosmetic look of our character from either of those classes or only the main?
I am not certain but I'm pretty sure there is no class limitation on cosmetics. Don't quote me on this though
