Dear Alexandra, I have to say I really like these videos you are making. Your style is super relaxed and feels more like chatting to a friend. Keep it up Cheers Jack
Well, I live in Woodstock, NY and although this is an artist community, and although I have been playing guitar for over 40 years..( since I was a wee-lad), you make me feel like taking my instrument and torching it like Hendrix did!...LOL! You are actually an inspiration!!! After watching and listening to you, my attempts to play classical are laughable! But thank you for being this Great!!!!! My 16 year old Son admires you as well!!!!
Im 67 and had studied Classical guitar and Lute since my late teens. I attended a Music Conservatory and taught and played professionally for many decades. (pop music and classical) You Tube presents an entirely new generation of players from the Segovia, J.Bream,J.Williams,C.Parkening that were the best at that time in history. Alexandra is a fantastic artist and so very young to have those chops. I hope the best for her career
Hahahaha that 5:30 transformation was so cute, made me laugh!! You look so beautiful in that costume btw! Cheers from Reutlingen Alexandra, still keeping warm memories for that concert and short chat with you in the meantime .. hope to see you again in Germany very soon!
0:38 Off Topic. If any of you have issues feeling sleepy/drowsy, etc., consider giving up coffee. I haven't been drinking it for half a year now, and I feel much better, with improved concentration and mental clarity. Look into coffee (how it works); in a sense, it's a 'mini drug' that can ultimately be harmful.
After all these years you wouldn't think you would be so anxious before a concert. Idk, maybe that keeps you "on your toes" so to speak. You play beautifully; you truly have nothing to fear. The audience will love you. Never thought about your blouse cutting off your circulation. Unreal. From now on, do your last practice with what you're going to wear on you, test the outfit first, right? I am sure the concert was amazing. Have your wine and sleep well.❤ thanks for sharing this day with us. Love you Alexandra!!!!👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
I did spot the electric guitar way before it was mentioned. 2 years ago, I started my journey with distorition guitar, but I will never forget my clasical guitar. I have played on the same one for the past 19 years (not on a professional level). I still practice the pieces I love while trying to gain more skill with distortion guitar. It is nice to see what it looks like back of stage. Keep on rocking! 😊🤘
I’ve been listening to your music for years; it helps me focus when I’m working at the hospital. Thank you for sharing “a day in the life”, keep up the excellent content!
I love your videos and like this one, thanks for sharing a little bit a day with Alexandra from wake up to fall asleep 😊 Looking forward for more videos of your daily experiences ❤
Hi Alexandra, thank you for sharing your thoughts and emotions. It's so good to have this feeling of closeness, it makes me feel more than just your fan but a friend
I can’t explain it so I’ll say it, your play of the guitar is what the God above and the angelic realm of angelic beings and who would watch over us be with us and just love us maybe guide us now that your perseverance and true love for the guitar and your own really super hard work , by you alone with the love in your heart for others, your gift you are so much loved for by sharing it with us. Thank you forevermore. Blessed.
This is just the loveliest vlog entry ever! Quick question about the warmup excercise - I assume, but obv may be wrong - that starts at 2:17: does it have a name and/or how could one go about learning it? Seems both quite the neat finger warmer-upper And sounds so cool at the same time! P.s. Your practice partner is kinda cute ^^
It was really nice following you from home to your concert and back. It wasn't boring at all. People always wonder how their favorite musicians prepare for their live performances. By the way, I love the Gretsch guitar hanging on the wall behind you. Gretsch makes some really sweet guitars. 👍👍👍
Following along from the many comments thanks for sharing giving us a gist of what goes on behind the scene. I was starting to think you were the most perfect of all humans and that everything was oh so easy. But, after watching I would still say I am a bigger fan and think you are absolutely wonderful.
Nice! I know lots of people in NYC who play live gigs in the East Village, carrying their instruments and even a small amp down the street, from one club, music bar, to the next. Then if all goes well, we hit a local bar and party into 3 or 4 am.
Congratulations on the concert and your between bits. Loved the jump suit but moving arms might be more helpful. I notice my leg goes to sleep from the pressure of the lift. I appreciate you taking me with you. Thanks for the video.
Thank you very much for these interesting and very inspiring impressions! I really like your natural manner and your sense of humour. And your guitar playing is to die for!
Can't wait to see you next Wednesday evening in Dún Laoghaire. I didn't dare to hope you'd ever do a tour in Ireland, and wondered if I might catch up with you in France! Hope your parents are readjusting to a sadly less-European UK. I love your self-deprecating honesty, and your evident delight in sharing your experiences through RUclips, where I discovered you from following other guitarists. Keep it up - and maybe go easy on the coffee on concert days: it might help you with the tremolos, but there are side-effects! 😅
Wonderful Alexandra, I look forward to another wonderful CD of yours (my european journey). When will you be in Italy for your concert? Best regards Gianfranco
You're an amazing guitarist and I really feel for you seeing how much you suffer before you play on stage. I have played ONE public concert and the old timers there told me that the nerves improve the more concerts you play, This is a LIE! Even Segovia more or less stated that he was a nervous wreck before every performance! Not sure if I'll every play publicly again. If my tutor knew I was writing this, he'd go ballistic. He said that it's shameful to keep your music to yourself, because it's a joy to be shared, and he spent so much of his time teaching me. He's right, but the emotional penalties of performing can be very hard to deal with.
Awesome so cool to see into a virtuoso's routine before a gig - pretty chill - love your guitars tone I have a 500.00 dollar Alvarez which is a nice guitar but wow what a difference compared to a high end guitar - thanks for sharing!
Alexandra, In seeing the chair at the venue it made wonder whether you specify the chair height or bring your own or just make do when you arrive? Thanks for sharing your day of show routines and thought. That’s very generous.
Thanks for giving us a glimpse of what a day is like for you when you have a concert performance. At first I thought you had a foot rest under your right leg, which didn't make sense to me. When you stod up from the chair I noticed you were using a lap stand. Which lap stand do you use? Do you find it easier to use a lap stand vs a foot rest when playing?
I was at your concert in Paris two days ago. Lovely performance. I especially liked your Erik Satie's gymnopedie as the encore. I enjoyed your first Paris concert very much. By the way, which guitar support were you using? Is this a Guitarlift? Seems pretty cool
Without a doubt, the Brazilian people are the warmest, and you will be very welcome here. Also bring your guitar from the wall. Here the climate is also hot and we wear little clothing, this will make you relax. A strong hug.
Yeah! My like 👍 was number 1100! 🎉🎉 😅 This was a very nice vlog. I love your jazz guitar. I didn't know at all that you were playing in a jazz band, that's interesting. Give your cat 🐈 a few hugs. 🤗🤗🤗 She's so cute.
The TLDR version is that Alexandra thought these pieces were too easy so she intentionally cut off the circulation to her arms to make them a challenge.
Gretch !! Brian Setzer's favorite tone.,,you should put a 12 string Rickenbacker up with it to keep it company.. an you might end up going into another genre of music ,,ya never know.
Dear Alexandra, I have to say I really like these videos you are making. Your style is super relaxed and feels more like chatting to a friend. Keep it up Cheers Jack
Thanks for sharing that behind-the-scenes on the day of our recital. Hope things are going well for you. I really enjoy your playing.
Thanks
🔥🔥🔥video.. massive fan of this behind the scenes of a professional guitarist on concert day
ありがとうございます!

This was awesome, i always wondered how much good players are stressed before their performance

Classical requires perfection which is so tough
❤❤❤❤ you look gorgeous ❤❤❤
Lovely video. Its all interesting... most of us don't get to do any of this!
Idea for another video; Alexandra plays Rockabilly on the Gretch!
I mean, just a thought 🤷
And Yes, they do make wonderful Objets d’Art.
Very cool, I have never played without a band so this is inspiring.
Do you use cedar topped guitar for practice and a spruce top for live?
Yeah! My like 👍 was number 1100! 🎉🎉 😅
This was a very nice vlog. I love your jazz guitar. I didn't know at all that you were playing in a jazz band, that's interesting.
