I belong to a few gay nerd groups on RUclips and this movie seems to be at least loved by 90% of the people on there. And besides that, you guys do know who Madonna is, right? She directed two scenes in the movie as confirmed by Ryan Reynolds, that is freaking gay catnip. What do you want from us? The only people I've seen who dislike this movie are the Gen-Z blue haired non-binary woketoids who hate gay white men because "we're still white men", so I dunno. It's not queer-baiting because it was never on the table in the first place. Throughout most, if not all, of the trilogy Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool was primarily motivated by his romantic love for Vanessa.
And even in the comics Wade and Logan don't get along even at the best of times. It's more tolerance of his antics.

I really wish it reaches $2Bn tbh to really drive home that message to Disney, THIS IS WHAT WE NEED MORE OF!! I'll admit it's not perfect, nowhere near as good as Endgame interms of plot, but it was still very fun and just great to see O.g. Wolverine in the Cowl as a nice kind of final farewell to Hugh Jackman in that role. I think the fact so many have watched D&W at cinemas just shows how desperate people are now to just get decent, fun escapist entertainment, and no messaging.
One of the most consistent things over the trilogy, is that Deadpool is in love with Vanessa, and wanting to be better for her.
They want more. They always wanted more. No amount of pandering will satisfy them. Even if all future movies and comics turn 100% gay, the will still claim underrepresented and play victims.

ummm, this movie is actually more appealing to gay men because having four good looking actors in the cast (granted Evans and Tatum were surprise cameos) and especially Madonna actually coming in and directing the two scenes her song is used (Reynolds confirmed she directed those two scenes as condition for using Like A Prayer) is actually way more appealing to the average gay man than all this non-binary "diverse" stuff they've been spewing in the last 3-4 years. I mean, you don't get much more gay-friendly than Madonna, one of the biggest icons of all time to the gays

Fans are only divided with critics who keep proving how useless they are. We have reached a point where critics' scores means absolutely nothing whether they rated a movie highly or not.
I'm litterally gay and I think the movie was just fine. Remember, Deadpool is bi and would like to explode if his gf dies (Deadpool 2), it makes sense that he's not acting gay with Wolverine, and there still were quite a few bi jokes in this movie.
I can't wait for a gay character that's important to the story in the MCU (one of the eternals being gay was the closest we came to it so far) but we shouldn't complain about this one, he's not gay and it was a great movie.

Marvel sure did drop the ball by not catering to the sexual / romantic preferences of 2-6% of population, even though the dissatisfied people in that group--and certainly not every person in that group was dissatisfied, because they're no more monolithic in their opinions than any other group of people who share a single trait--don't even agree on if the film should have had material added, material taken out, or some of both. Yep, Marvel really messed up, and I'm sure their insensitivity has cost them hundreds of dollars of box-office receipts on "Deadpool and Wolverine," as opposed to, say, "The Eternals," where their sensitive representation of that 2-6% group of people netted them.

Unlike Deadpool 2, Ryan Reynolds actually mocks the Progressive left in Deadpool and Wolverine. When Cassandra Nova first debuts, Deadpool makes a joke about ableism and Cassandra not being in a wheelchair and Deadpool not wanting to piss off the woke crowd, implying he doesn't like them (unlike Deadpool 2, which was full of pandering and was basically a woke movie itself.) So yes, Ryan Reynolds is self-aware they would find something to whine about with this movie, despite them still having the lesbian X-Men couple in it as Deadpool's friends. But that's never good enough for them, cause they can't seem to understand what a platonic same-sex friendship is.

It's weird if you actually listen to what the reviewers say, calling the movie "multiplex fodder", they seem to be completely aware of what makes a successful movie (broad audience appeal) but to hold those movies in complete contempt. They somehow want movies with themes without wide appeal to be made, budgeted and billed like blockbusters. And when that doesn't happen they are angry with studios for not doing it and when those movies fail they are angry with fans for not watching even though they know that a that type of niche movie isn't "multiplex fodder".

The Guardian is nothing if not predictable. Apparently they have a readership to cater to. Or do they? They boast about being the only "independent" newspaper (no proprietor or corporate owner), their finances held the form of an off-shore trust - to which large donations have been made at least twice in the last few decades, to the tune of millions, to keep the organ from insolvency. The trust allows these donors to remain anonymous which actually makes the paper's allegiances _less_ transparent than other newspapers.

Its not really about gay, its about a group of really unhappy people making demands. Different time and place and the same people would be using something else as a bludgeon.
Thats why its so popular, its targeting the 90% straight population and not the 10% lgtq+ population.
