The first Austin video I saw was the rivers of Hyrule video, and then I fell down the rabbit hole and binged dozens of videos over the last month. Such great videos

Same. Also, I'm not a person who looks at stuff in videogames. I play them for either just the pure enjoyment and different world, or the art (like actual this game is trying to communicate something, not videoessay deep meaning in csgo)

I don’t know what it is but any time I’m having a bad day watching Austin’s videos just chill me out. Maybe it’s because I realize life just like games will never be perfect, but can still be enjoyed.

“Anyone can have a bad idea. Nobody can have 100 bad ideas.” I loved this line.
Austin could be a professor and I don’t mean he could teach “Gaming Videos 101 at Jake Paul University 🤓” I mean like a legit professor.
This is inspiring stuff and it’s really well said and easy to follow.

I'm a visual artist and man, what a great conversation about creative work. some of the most important things I learned in art school was to prioritize the creative process that will result in the highest amount of successful pieces, even if that sometimes sacrifices "correct" technique. My advanced painting prof said you should always have 6-8 paintings going at once, if not more. In a way, quantity trumps quality if it means you'll ACTUALLY finish a great painting, song, video, etc (as opposed to forcing yourself to make your one mangum opus and having it end up sitting unfinished for months). Austin's attitude towards creation is so refreshing in a world/time that feels so antithetical to it. Need like, hours more of this 👍

Only 30 min in and Austin's creative process is absolutely reminding me of ps1 demo disks for metal gear solid and crash bandicoot warped , we didn't have money for full games or memory cards but we loved those vertical slice demo games because they had it all even if they were very short

  • @cosygracegames

Wow what a wonderful conversation, I really loved listening to that, it really made me think about the wonder of video games ✨ thanks for taking the time to ask Austin these questions, i also loved how long it was!
I loved that part about thinking of life as a kid and human “between loading zones” and all we have to do is make a decision to change it up and we can see a part of life we’re not used to seeing or have a cool experience in that way!
I remember that feeling as a kid playing animal crossing wild world and I always kept resetting cause it was fun and easy to play like that but on the website it would talk about these things that happen if you search for them like sabrina and the water fountain, and getting into redds tent and getting gold tools but not knowing how to achieve that as a kid made it feel so magical and interesting like a whole different world as if I’m reading a fantasy book or something! And just staring at the out of bounds cliffs that would separate your village from whatever beyond and just imagining what could happen if I went past there, I feel like I’ve lost that feeling in gaming for sure since I’m so focused on achieving the next thing or next game rather than play something over and over and really be creative about the games world! And I can feel that in life as well of seeing people’s houses and just imagining what if I lived there or went past the gate but you’re not allowed to, it’s such an interesting topic, just absolutely loved it!
I also really took in the things they were saying about creating and being an artist in life, thank you so much!

My #1 question would be: what’s with all the hair clips? lol I saw an early video with his hair flopped to the side and it looked so good! Is this just what he has to do to get his hair to do that? Or does he think it just looks cool with the clips? Lmao no shade being thrown at all, it works for him and his personality.

    • @yeeN4W
      @yeeN4W Месяц назад +1

The answer is so simple and mundane that it perfectly suits him:
It's simply to manage his hair. 🤷🏻‍♂️
[SOURCE] - I know a couple other dudes that do this and I had asked them before. There's still a small chance it's for a "look" or something, however. As he says, "Use your imagination. Fill in the gaps. That's what it's all about. 😊"

I think I have an answer to the detail question:
Yes, every single detail matters. For someone. If you have a 100 details and 10k people, they will be spread around. One detail might matter for 100, another for 10, another for 300. But in the end, assuming a sufficient amount of players, every detail will make the difference for someone out there.
