I have to laugh that the protagonist exclusively uses the flare gun as a weapon and doesn't ever try sending up a signal flare. Even when there's a plane flying overhead he opts for firing the fucking rifle into the sky instead. Buddy, you have a FLARE GUN, that's literally what it's meant for! He could've fired it once he got in sight of Jenner Station, but nope! Instead you end the game with over 100 ammo for the thing 'cause I guess he just thinks it's a really shitty gun? "Boy, this sparky gun sure doesn't kill wolves very good! That's the problem with youth these days, all flash no substance."
The weirdest and most uncanny part of this video was how familiar the main character guy’s voice sounded, so I decided to look up this game on imdb, and found out that it has a weirdly high-profile voice cast?
They only got 4 VAs, but all of them are pretty well-known and prolific, those being Robin Atkin Downes as the main character, Laura Bailey as the female lead, Fred Tatascoire as the weird old man, and Troy Baker as the narrator.
Idk how this random Cabela game got the voices of Travis Touchdown from No More Heroes, Chun-Li in Street Fighter 4 & 5, Soldier 76 from Overwatch, and Joel from The Last of Us, but I guess you can splurge a bit when you’re only casting 4 voice actors for (almost certainly) only a single recording session each, lol.
This game is a canonical crossover event between those games

holy shit i got this game as a kid and it was such a fever dream I assumed I simply made up most of my memories abt it. my only console growing up as a wii, so this was quite literally the first 'real' game i ever played after wii sports. not only was my memory of the graphics quality embarrassingly incorrect, but nothing about this games shooting mechanics or Cabella's branding stuck in my head. I legit just thought this was a generic knockoff Tomb Raider, that's how fucking awful the shooting/hunting is in this game.
And having moved to Alaska an adult, I'm also choosing to believe that this game has been subconsciously manipulating me since the age of 10. You guys might've just found the real Polybius watch out.

Easily the funniest fact about this game is that this is somehow not the only Cabela's game, even on the Wii alone. There's at least one more for the Wii, and there was one made for the DS for some reason
It's also worth noting that the other Wii game runs at like 30-60 fps consistently, I have no clue why this one runs so much worse

I haven't played any of the Cabela games myself, but I watched a let's play of one once. I think it may have been titled Cabela's Dangerous Hunt or something like that? Just like this one it had a surprisingly involved plot. I don't remember details, but it was some kind of supernatural horror or something.
I'm not great at shooters myself, but with the weirdly involved plots, it'd be great to look up more videos of Cabela games sometime.
