You see, you made a huge mistake on Staryu. Hermaphrodite is an organism that can be male *AND* female, not *or*.
Also fun fact: Hedgehogskinners (gr. Echinodermata), which includes starfishes, reproduces with both sexes (gonochory), it is, they have male and female individuals.
One fact that fits the desciption is one that makes you facepalm due to how ridiculous. Shigeki Morimoto comfimed that Lugia was supposed to be a water/flying type, but the changed it to psychic type to make it feel more powerful. This is because the psychic type was the most powerful type in gen 1. That is the only reason why it's psychic type and it's the stupidest reason a pokemon has their type.
I kinda like it, honestly. Very self-aware. They knew Psychic was king back then. Besides, by this point it's just weird to think of Lugia _not_ being a Psychic-type.
Well these days there are marine Pokémon that aren't water type (Pincurchin, Eelectross, Grapploc) but that image of Lugia swimming on the title screen or diving in the second movie really shows it as the king of the seas
Eh water flying would of been better, cause Psychic flying plauged with weeknesses.

We talked about the Playboy Pokemon and the Domanatrix Pokemon, why didn't we disuse Salazle?
It literally makes Reverse Harems with multiple male Saladints. And loom at its design. They KNOW what they're doing, and they LIKE it.
Wailord also kinda looks like a zeppelin. So it could also be a hindenburg reference.
Misdreavus is based on Nukekubi, a humanlike Japanese yokai that can detatch its head and shrieks to scare humans. Highly doubt the suicide forest connection when its straight up just a ghostly floating head.
The shrieking also implies at least some connection to banshees and there's also the fact that it can somewhat resemble the floating head enemies from Castlevania. I highly doubt that the suicide forest was the main inspiration behind Misdreavus.

The Misdreavus point is wholly speculative and completely disregards the original two Ghost-type Pokemon from the leaked beta that it replaced. Additionally, the entire Mt Silver map was decreased in size, and changed in layout, but still has plenty of trees. I know as a kid I assumed it was forested. If they were trying to avoid it looking like a forest, they failed miserably.
ngl, that Misdreavus one is a huge stretch and that's most likely not the "gas" they meant with Chimchar.
It's actually straight confirmed from other official sources. That aside, Misdreavus also takes after the concept of Banshees where they can remove their head to chase after victims and scare them with high-pitch screams
7:30, I just thought it was because wailmer and wailord were kinda based on beach balls and blimps and their self-destruct was them popping like balloons. NOT THIS ATROSITY!!!😱
I mean, could be that too. Pokémon have been known to take inspiration from various different things.
I figured it was a reference to Hidenburg given their design

More facts:
1: dispite coming from eggs, Pokemon have belly buttons. Examples are Oshawott (If the scalchop is heavily damaged or lost, Oshawott can grow a new one from its navel) and Incineroar (Incineroar's flame belt is produced from within its body and bursts from its navel)
2: Jigglypuff is based on Kirby
well technically Animals that hatch from an egg could have somethign similar
when a chicken egg gets broodet the chick develops from a disc on the yolk
thats the food for the develobing embryo
in most cases this yolk isnt complelty gone when the chick would hatch
so 1 day before hatching the chick will "suck" the remaining yolk inside of it and then close this gab up
and if you look there 1-4 days after hatching you will see that there was something
but it will not stay
like whith humans it dissapears over time
but in this case with many other mammals ,,,they also dont really have belly buttons ,,, they all dissapear after a while compleltly
but cause we humans knot it together it stays
this makes me actually curiouse if we humans would cut it off and leave it ,, like other animals do (they just bite it off)
would then these childs also have no belly button as adults

'normaly the baby is attached to the mother with the Umbilical cord this resultign in a navel
but embryos in eggs are allso attached to the yolk
with a loot of blood vessels

Technically, a hermaphrodite is actually an organism that possesses both male and female reproductive parts. You can think of a flower, which as both male parts (pollen-producing parts) and female parts (ovum, which becomes the fruit's seed). And a lot of invertebrate organisms are actually hermaphroditic in this sense, including sea stars

Politoed could be a pun on poly (many) toed, referencing the fact that it has more than one toe

I also remember a theory that Red jumps off the cliff after the player battles hin in Mt. Silver which also fits in your theory that Mt. Silver was based on Aokigahara Forest.

Kinda fitting we get a dominatrix pokemon in the generation abbreviated as S&M.
It may be that Araquanid's intentions were mistaken as being "caring," when in reality it actually *intended* to drown weak prey the entire time.
Yeah. Araquanid is one of if not my favorite Bug type and I originally assumed it was a predation tactic as well.
Everything about Araquanid kept reminding me of that crappy animated short film Wasurenagumo, so I really believe that "caring" bit is definitely a ruse.
Maybe it's like Ponyta's flames- they don't burn the rider if Ponyta trusts them. Maybe whether Araquanid's water bubble protects or drowns depends on Araquanid's intentions.
Alternatively, it could just be that Araquanid uses the bubble to protect Pokémon that already breathe underwater.
As a fan of both Politoed and puns, I actually figured out the toes fact as a teen lol.
Not morbid persay, just a fun fact: ekans has a rattle on its tail that goes away when it evolves because babies tend to not carry their rattles into adulthood
What is morbid with another snake pokemon is Sandaconda being seemingly based on the snakes that get their necks twisted up

You got it all wrong regarding Chimchar. It doesn't actually farts endlessly LOL, the gas stays in it's belly and it's only the fire that is created from that gas that is coming out of it's behind. Even the Dex entries that you brought up clearly separate the fire and gas from each other, they said that fire is fueled by the gas which is burns slowly from it's rear end to create that fire. Also it's not like that the gas is actually disgusting like actual fart gas. Again you got it all wrong dude.
I'd assume Chimchar has a flame sac somewhere in it's body like other fire types, and it's stomach gases are used to fuel that internal flame, which it then expels when it uses fire type moves
@@brendanboomhour7606 This might be true for other Fire Types but not Chimchar, in it's case it's a gas that is just stored in it's body and then burns, and no it has no relation to it's moves.

I already knew all the facts until the Misdreavus one. Has Pokémon made me a psycho? I hope not.
Game Freak INTENDED for the mature designs in some Pokémon because it is canon that humans and Pokémon could be in a relationship or get married. As in the Japanese version of the Gen 4 games it straight up says that "humans and Pokémon used to get married all the time" and in Colosseum there is a woman who straight up says that her life-long boyfriend is her Mightyena. This also gets me thinking about where exactly humans evolved from within the Pokémon universe and I believe that humans evolved from the ape Pokémon, so human and Pokémon relationships aren't impossible or can be viewed as taboo as it has already been stated plenty of times that humans and Pokémon have been VERY close to one another. We could also say that the furry media did inspire Pokémon a bit as furry media has been around for centuries including before Pokémon's time.

The Chimchar fart is also accounted for in it's cry from Gen 6 & onward. There is a thunk at the end of it's cry, said thunk I deem as it throwing it's poop 🙃🤣🤭 but it could also be a fart

Considering how real-life cows release gas every time they open their mouths, Chimchar constantly farting doesn't sound too weird. It's no less gross though.
Politoed could also mean multiple toes assuming they just spelled poly like that for the line

chimchar is NOT a cute mon! It is one of the least cute of any starters.
I always thought Wailord could learn explosion because there is clear pool toy(like those inflatable whales) influence in it's design. Cause they can pop. Also why it's heavy but not near the heaviest Pokemon in the game.
