For me this is AURORAS greatest dance performance in a music video this is so breathtaking beautiful , strong almost sensual. I really don´t see AURORA as very sensual person and i am glad for that only pure but this video is so beautiful. and as we are used to, you always make an equally fantastic reaction to the song and the video, thank you Adam. But for God's sake do not forget the studio version of It happend quiet .... and the rest is history
And again we have this picture of cocoon and metamorphosis... i love it... and the installation is so clean, pure and refined... the idea with the drones dancing mechanically around her, dancing in a very artistic and expressive style... nice... 🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍 after the metamorphosis she is even more alive than before, like a better version of herself...
About her dancing: This is from an interview with Aurora in 2014. Before she started in high school, she was destined to become a dancer. After dancing for nine years, an elimination process was needed. First she quit the dance, then the school. Now it is the music that remains as the big winner. Nor was that decision easy. - Dancing is the best thing you can do. It is an out-of-body experience. It has taught me a lot about being on a stage. Why did you choose music over dance? - It's harder to become a dancer. It's music I've always been doing in secret, it was just so much scarier. I wanted to be a musician, but it was a dancer I dared to be. After all, both are about the need to express something. Create feelings for someone. You get to do that in both dance and song.
Thank you for the info! I didn't know Aurora had ever seriously considered becoming a dancer! Yet, I guess it's not surprising, since she's such a natural dancer! I like how she doesn't feel the need to conform or fit in boxes, neither in her music nor in her dance moves. As if she has her own unique "movement" language. I especially liked her expressive movements when she performed "Runaway" on the Nobel Peace Prize event. I watched two young RUclipsrs saying her moves were "strange", but I couldn't agree less. It's great that Aurora feels confident to express herself in an authentic way, and sometimes even joke about herself. I remember Aurora saying that when she first watched herself perform live (I think she referred to the same performance), she wasn't sure whether she was doing exorcism or having a heart attack.
This videoclip is simply STUNNING, I seriously love it. It makes me have chills all over my body. I'd even recommend in your own time to look at how they made that whole thing work, cause damn it wasn't simple, there was a toooon of work there cause of the drones. Oh, and yes, Aurora has done ballet as far as I'm aware. Think there's one performance of hers on RUclips. Yet another great Aurora reaction :))
I've seen her do what I consider choreographed dance moves in three videos. Two of them were music videos and the last one was a live performance. I think this is the best in terms of dancing. It's elegant, modern, expressive and a great complement to the song and lyrics. Aurora covers several themes in her songs. To me there's a sort of harmony between the artificial/machines and the natural (Aurora as a representative of humans/animals) in this song. At the same time I am reminded here of how she likes to contrast and draw up a possible conflict between machines/culture and nature/instinct.
Hei Adam! I love your reactions to Aurora and Angelina and how react to their songs and how you break it down! I really don’t ask for reactions, but I wonder if you could react Sissel Kyrkjebo and The Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing Slow Down! This song is the most beautiful I have heard and it is perfect in these awful COVID-19 times! Good Jobb!
I am behind you every step of the way here. She is the former Queen of talented singer in Norway.....no,no it is one of the greatest singer of all..Period
It's always a pleasure to listen to your impressions!!! As you've explained, the images and metaphors in the video complement the song beautifully. And there's also the aesthetic pleasure you get from watching the beautiful shapes aurora creates with her body. Could you please react to the Glastonbury 2016 version of "Under Stars"? It's very different from the Nidarosdomen's version. I'm sure you'd like the energy Aurora brings into this performance!!!
There were times when I listened to this song over and over again to understand what this song is about, and I'm sure I read something somewhere too but I totally forgot what I read and where 😅😣 But this song is . just . beautiful. But all I got in my brain everytime this song comes up is mountains of white, shining blanket and endless winter.
Yay, another Aurora original song reaction, hope there's more of those to come=) I really like this song as well, and your reaction was very interesting as usual!
The machine cocoon her in. The question is, what is the machine? Love? Expectancy of love? hate? A tragedy? The bitter rememberance of things that could have been.
Haven't seen this video before very beutiful but also can we mention the drone pilots wow. But her songs forever manage to bring out the best in our emotions. Great song and stunning movement.
I like both this version with the cocoon and her live performances of this song! For dance moves, I also like her live performance at LINDMO of "Forgotten Love"
If you are interested, here is the "making of" winter bird, the robot engineer said nicely that "usually technology is used by artists to further their work, but in this case the artistic direction is pushing technology" -- classic aurora! ruclips.net/video/xcVoS6DpFf8/видео.html
She has some dance background, i think there are some clips around from shcool shows where she performs with others, if she took classes and such i dont know but probably she did. think this would make my top 10 as well but damn i dont envy you making that list =)
Hey Adam also try listening to 'Silja Sol' she is often seen performing with Aurora and providing harmonising backing vocals but she is a writer singer in her own right....
It might have been said, but this song was the theme music on the movie Equals trailer featuring Kristen Steward. She's relatively small in the big industry, but big in our hearts, and obviously very well recognized among a lot of influential people. Love the song. Adam, have you seen/heard the choir covers of Aurora that is beginning to pop up? Here's a choir of 240 singers from Melbourne, Australia singing "The Seed", for instance. ruclips.net/video/HrQgLyCEjak/видео.html There are also a couple of videos featuring London Contemporary Voices, and a Danish choir called Vocal Frostbite. It's not necessarily great, all of it, but it's definitely interesting for both warriors and weirdos.
Unrelated but I know you really like "The Seed". There's a live version from lollapalooza brazil from 2018 that is in my opinion the best version. If you haven't seen it, would love to hear your reaction. I've never seen a reaction to it.
Yes! A video not blocked :) Maybe because it's owned by youtube? But yes, a great video. I prefer live versions, but this was very well done. Have you watched Animal yet? That's also an exiting video.
Great reaction, as always, Adam. Here you have a behind the scenes video from the making of this beautiful masterpiece: ruclips.net/video/xcVoS6DpFf8/видео.html
She trained in Jazz dancing, I'm not sure about other styles? This seems like one of the earlier times she showed of her more "trained" dancing, for lack of a better word? She still seems shy in her live performances, not as full-bodied movement as later. The instrumental intro at Nidarosdomen is epic, but I kind of felt like that performance lost some of the nuances from the studio version and particularly the music video. I've not seen another live performance, though, and I'm sure she and Silja could knock an acoustic version out of the park with those harmonies.
Please, pretty please check out the Behind the Scenes for the music video - they filmed at a robotics institute with drones programmed to fly around her like that. I'm a science nerd with artist parents, and I love this sort of thing - particularly showcasing art and science working together, or as one in the same. ruclips.net/video/xcVoS6DpFf8/видео.html
She is such an incredible dancer, I love her movements. She’s like Sia and Maddie Ziegler wrapped up in one perfect package.
shes aurora. NO Sia and NO Maddie. Just Aurora

Hi, you mean The Live at the Current - studio version? This IHQ is a diamond that still lack on Adam's reactions. I hope it comes soon.

It’s my favourite song by Aurora of all time 💓just wow

Aurora said in an interview that she has had dance training since she was 6 to 16 years old.

Maybe you know the netflix show The OA but everytime I watch this music video I get the same vibes the show has. Aurora is the real life OA 😌
The machine cocoon her in. The question is, what is the machine? Love? Expectancy of love? hate? A tragedy? The bitter rememberance of things that could have been.
yepp she is a dancer too , there's a video where she dances to Feeling Good. BTW this song was used in the movie Equals
Haven't seen this video before very beutiful but also can we mention the drone pilots wow. But her songs forever manage to bring out the best in our emotions. Great song and stunning movement.
