Originally formed in Paris in 1972 by students from Antioch College, Ohio, studying abroad, improvisational jazz collective The Pyramids travelled across Europe and Africa before recording a trio of self-released albums.
After a reunion concert in 2007, the band reformed in 2010 following a wave of interest in their music. Ahead of their new album, ‘We Be All Africans’, here’s a taste of the original Pyramids experience from a 1975 KQED TV special.

I saw Idris and the band yesterday in Antwerp, Belgium. My god, what can I say, they were fantastic. Tight Tight Tight and yet so free. Top 5 in my lifetime Great to see this old footage, it shows these are very remarkable individuals.
