I’m not trying to say that everything was black before, but it’s concerning that there has been a clear intention to erase any contributions from Africans (Muslim, Jew or Christian). It’s OUR history. No matter what your skin tone today. It’s part of what made us all. Let’s celebrate that.

a documentary fraught with lies !
The Moors were Arabs and Berbers and in no way black Africans. The expedition to Andalusia was organized by arab generals under the orders of the Ommeyyade empire from Damascus, Syria.
Andalusia was known for its arabic culture and its poets like Abu Newas , its scholars like Ibn Sinna , Ibn Roshd , ... writing in perfect arabic and never mentioning Blacks.
When the Moors returned to North Africa, after the spanish Reconquista, they settled in old North African cities such as Fes , Tlemcen , Algiers , Tunis , ... where their descendants still live, they are known for their fair skin not showing the smallest hint of blackness.

Yes the Spanish aren't fond of remembering the time of being enslaved and forcibly converted. Don't believe all the lies in this video. The Moors brought nothing good that didn't already exist in Europe. They stole knowledge from the Greeks and other European cultures, forced Christians to translate the texts to them to acquire said knowledge as well. There can't possibly be anyone dumb enough to believe that the Moors "introduced Europe to bathing" when bathhouses were invented in Europe long before Islam was even a religion.

The cultures they spread there were also middle eastern cultures.

Therefore there are those who are "white" and those who aren't, and they realized this in the United States when we emigrated in 1900, so much so that we from southern Italy, especially us Sicilians, were called "Guinea".
Having said that, we Mediterranean peoples are a genetic mixing a bit like the Caribbean peoples are, only that today it seems that this thing is somewhat hidden.

Andalusia was known for its arabic culture and its poets like Abu Newas, and scholars like Ibn Sinna , Ibn Roshd, ... writing in perfect arabic and never mentioning Blacks.
When the Moors returned to North Africa , after the spanish Reconquista , they settled in old North African cities such as Fes , Tlemcen , Algiers , Tunis ,... where their descendants still live, they are known for their fair skin not showing the smallest hint of blackness.

The Alhambra palace is one of the world's great wonders of Architecture, with its interconnected collonaded open courtyards, and a sense of sensual life among gardens pools and fountains. Truly a high point in civilization at the time. Contrasted with the circular palace built by the conquistadors, in the same place. A cold austere lifeless structure. Unfortunately it has become an icon in Spain's mass tourism industry.

The Palacio of Carlos V is actually very interesting and very impressive: a circular building. But it is more of a military and administrative structure, while the Alhambra was used as the actual palace. Cold, austere, lifeless? After 800 yeas of reconquest they were in no mood to be frivolous. Boabdil might have been wise to have spent more time building "austere", "lifeless" defenses. As his own mother put it to him on their way out: "Cry like a woman for what you could not defend as a man"....ouch.

It is shameful and often funny how each time any influence and contributions made by Africans are mentioned, whether in a history book or in a discussion, certain people get upset. They then concoct all sorts of ways to discredit the facts. They will even go so far as
to give the credit to Aliens, such as with the building of the pyramids. The great contributions that were/are made by Africans do not/ should not in any way diminish the accomplishments achieved by other peoples. Rome and Greece were not the only great civilizations. Remember Egypt?

      @@idratherbeaphilthanajustin9533 America today,north, south, and
      central is peopled/populated with
      a vastly different demographic
than it was just a mere 500 years
ago. This is the most readily
available reference l can find to
highlight the point which l am about to make. A mere 400 or so ago, a visitor to the shores of the Americas
      would find Comanches, Apaches,
      Senecas, Oneidas,Navajos,Cherokee,
Yaqi,Onandaga, Aztec, lnca, Yanomami, a few African Tribes who came hundreds of years before Columbus, l could go on and on.
Now a visitor to these same shores
would find few of many of those just mentioned and an otherwise totally
different population and totally different ruling elite. (White People).
Today we find as Americas Ruling
      illite descendants of Anglo Saxon,
      Goths, Pithic Goths, Ostro Goths,
Teutons, Vandals, Jutes, Franks, Visigoths, lombards, Picts, Allemandes, all white European Tribes. My point finally; the population of the " Middle East "
and Arabia today is vastly different
from what it was at the Historical
period on question. At that time that entire region was covered with todays Black African population with highly advanced Cultures. Arabia was a province of East Africa. Arabic is no less than 50% made of African language. Arab is not a race but a linguistic group. The Hausa Tribe of Northern Nigeria are the most original Arabs. The Moors who swept across Africa and into Spain were Black People who occupied Arabia and the entire "Middle East",
gathering other Blacks as they spread a revised version of the Jew
Religion (Islam). Also, for your information, these same Blacks occupied North Africa and Southern
Europe long long long before the Ice Age melted permiting the White Tribes the access their way Southward and changing to population of Southern Europe.
      Before Romulus killed his brother
Remus and established Rome, the inhabitants of Southern Italy were Black People. Thanks for your patients with my very long comment.

The expedition to Andalusia was organized by arab generals under the orders of the Ommeyyade empire from Damascus , Syria. Andalusia was known for its arabic culture and its poets like Abu Newas, its scholars like Ibn Sinna , Ibn Roshd , ... writing in perfect arabic and never mentioning Blacks. How could black people have become overweight experts in the arabic language ?
When the Moors returned to North Africa, after the spanish Reconquista , they settled in old North African cities such as Fes, Tlemcen , Algiers , Tunis ,... where their descendants still live , they are known for their fair skin not showing the smallest hint of blackness.

What a high school girl mindset you have.
By the way, the knowledge the Moors "brought" wasn't brought at all. They stole that knowledge from texts already existing in Europe, they forced Christians to translate it for them. All they did was use already existing Greek etc knowledge and claim credit for it, then convert the beautiful churches into mosques. It took the Europeans hundreds of years to drive them out. Why do you think they would have done that if the Moorish invasion was so great? No one wants to be invaded, stop justifying it just because it was happening to white people.

The Moors are Amazigh, they don't have specific color ranging from white to black ( depends if you're up north or south ). But most of them are pale skinned brown/white, because most of them occupy the north.
They started to recruit more black soldiers though using slavery, not the black moors, other black Africans.
The reason is not just to increase the number to conquer but to protect themselves against potential Coup d'etat. Amazigh were notoriously known for their coup d'etats.

The difference in confidence would be huge. It would be even better if we just learned true history though without even learnin discriminate people as "White" and "Black". That is not how most people through most of time thought of themselves. It develops in Europe, but class mattered much more, and a lot of history of highly melanated people who were part of European and Colonial society is hidden.
We should recognize that people really aren't colors, and just teach the real history, which would include how much Christian Europoeans lied in there quest for resources and dominance even though some of them would be considered "Black" today in our modern wordl.
The real reason for it was to disenfranchise the nobility of America from their lands, under the pretext that they were not really human because they were not Christian. That is why with cases like Pochahantas some pale families, were or are so proud to claim their lineage through her.
