    cant wait till next year to see the gt3, corvette z06 and the Amazing GT4RS battle it it out. What dreams are made off. Even if people cant afford them, these cars keep us dreaming, just maybe one day...

      I feel the fun affordable cars to watch out for next year may just be the Corolla GR and the new Nissan Z. Both have the makings of being great drivers cars with the manual gearboxes.

    I live in the US and just started sub'ing to this channel after watching both the Motor 2022 awards. Very nuanced and driver focused assessments of the cars. I also liked their indepeendent take, including their placement for the GR Yaris Vs GR 86/BRZ (which was a surprise to me having driven neither but they explained it well). The cars that are on my short list is the GR Corolla and 86, also the C8 Vette. I would get the C8 no questions asked if it had steering feel. Does the Corolla's steering communicate grip at the limit, how about the 86?

    So many dudes buy, hate, and sell GT3's because they can't stand the ride quality and road noise. These days they sell them for a profit too haha!! So it turns out ok for them. But that's why I always suggest a Carrera

    Porsche continues to dominate comparison tests and has been doing just that for decades. You read comparison tests from the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s and the 911, 928, 944 and Boxster were mopping floors with the competition then too. Porsche “gets it”.

  • @Chris.Davies

    30:00 - It appears your correspondent does not understand the action of higher gears: they reduce torque.
    I find it very hard to believe Porsche's electric motors decline in torque at higher rpms so rapidly that engaging another gear to reduce motor revs actually increases torque at the wheels.
    The function of the gears in e-Porsches is to engage the driver in a more familiar mode of operation, and to give the driver a choice of what ratio to be in. That's an important part of driving, I think.

    Some pretty amazing performance and the zero to one hundred and four hundred metre times are amazing for one hundred and sixty grand.
    Hope we have lot's of available options as l hate the wheels and stripes.
    The so called track alignment makes a big difference.
    I would imagine the M4 would be virtually the same as the M3.....

    It would be more interesting and practical to throw in a couple of more modest sports cars as well, like the Supra and Nissan Z. That would also demonstrate what you get for a lot less and more affordable for most people. For variety and usefulness the Road & Track yearly comparison format is better than this.

      911 GT3 RS? too obvious. Lotus Emira, Ariel Atom 4 track version. Another Corvette, M2 CS. Tesla Plaid? the T50 or Valkyrie? could be an awesome year.

    • @aaronvector4750
      @aaronvector4750 2 года назад

      @@pigeonpoo1823 if the T50's there, it's gonna win. If the Valkerie's there, it's gonna win. Those cars aren't even remotely in the same league as most other sports/supercars.

    • @aaronvector4750
      @aaronvector4750 2 года назад +2

      @@pigeonpoo1823 991 GT3 RS would be a heck of a car, but it'd be almost undrivable on the road, as with the GT4 RS. The C8 Z06 vette would be pretty good on the street but the steering wouldn't be a good as the porsches. The Z06's track impressions would be pretty good, and it'd most likely be quicker than the GT4 RS and the GT3, but I doubt it'd be quicker than the GT3 RS. The M2 CS would be awesome and would be one of the top competitors on the road and track, but it's laptime wouldn't be as good as the vette nor either of the porsche GT cars. The Lotus' story would be quite similar to the M2 CS. I'm not sure about the Ariel Atom. The Tesla Plaid wouldn't be able to compete on the road nor on the track. It's breakes are above average compared to other sports sedans, however when compared to the fact that this thing is quicker than a Bugatti Chiron in acceleration, the breakes would seem useless and would really disappoint, and scare the judges.

    Interesting mix of cars only a few really track focused so you can't really judge them for lacking there. Should have brought the Cayman Gt4 RS Lamborghini STO and BMW M3 Xdrive auto. The Jag and the Alpina are not in the same league for track use. The Corvette is a strong contender but we all know it's an above average track car but really more of an all around sports car for daily use. The Z06 will shine with the top Porsche's.

  • @RandyJM21
    @RandyJM21 2 года назад

    Look at the price of C8 and it wins , i mean there is nothing even marginally close to compete. if you dont remove price , cost of ownrship and EASE of ownership its a shut out . If money is removed from the equation then its a different contest .
    Even the enrty level porsche canr compete on price . GM pulled everybodies pants down on cost and showed what is possile for people who like cars as apposed to catering to the % of people who can afford being or WANT TO BE RIPPED ff for status and performance . Z06 will finish the job and pull their under pants down .
