Up front, I am independent shop owner and have been a motorcycle tech for 30+ years. I bought a 2020 S1000RR with the M package. Mostly because I ride street and track. After riding both the Ducati V4 and the BMW, I liked the very user friendly power of the BMW for street rides. I will admit, the Ducati is nimble regardless of rpm and you can feel the difference at speed (aka my reason for going all out and getting the M package with carbon wheels). The other reason for going with the BMW is cost, I have all the the equipment and tools to maintain the BMW and that is not the case with Ducati (Ducati love their special tools). To be honest, both these bikes are far better then I am a rider but let’s be honest, if you can’t keep the front wheel down with 200hp, who cares if you 30hp of unused hp? Both are amazing motorcycles with scalpel sharp handling and more powerful then the law of physics will let you use, out of the box are far better then most of us are riders, what are you drawn to is the deciding factors.

Ducati has something that always close to our hearts weather you compared wid the h2r or some other bikes . The look , that's enough for killed someone .
Any day Ducati for me!!
Tough call... will be interesting to see how the beemer performs in WSB next year. Heart says team Red, but the BMW is probably the better all round bike.
scott redding is just not a rider we expect to ride bmw.. he is slow and has no special skill
For information: The M-brake at the beemer is from Nissin mainly. This due to the fact that the american brakes used on the S1000RR are not as performant as required.
And never a beemer. Quality is so poor (just touch the fairing, and you'll know it) and too much engines already blown up.
The BMW....Every Ducati i ever had blew up....lol
never happened to me, strange you must be a rather unlucky person 😂
The high revving In-line 4 cylinder is distinct Asian tone. BMW should've designed a V4 for the Blitzer and aimed for a unique exhaust tone.
A boxer 4!
@@motobob Boxer engine - although uniquely BMW - would significantly reduce the riders lean angle due to the cylinder heads; not the best for a sports bike. The horizontally opposed cylinders would produce lateral loads which would make leaning the bike at high speed somewhat unnerving.
