I'm going to be going through all 12 signs and talking about three common misconceptions that people have about the 12 signs, and offer some deeper context and understanding about all the signs of the Zodiac.

Thank you for such a compassionate view of us Virgos! Librarian-harlot-judge-"I gotta be me" - a lot to deal with in life, especially when you're young and trying to "be good" at the same time. I'm a Virgo Sun & Rising, Cancer Moon. I want to offer the image of the archetypal Russian ballet teacher. She's a stern master, extremely serious about "minor things" like the placement of a finger. But this is because she knows what that focus can manifest. And when you see Barishnikov dance, you don't think, oh, look how uptight all that discipline is. You see his magical flight. And that's what it's all for.

Being a Virgo rising, as a very young child I was crying as my parents lifted me up to see the fireworks in the window - apparently I said "I'm crying because all the little stars are gonna go out now and the lights will be no more".
I guess I was about 4, now that I'm 46 I know what I meant back then - go out they will.
I have a similar attunement with the absence of light growing up. When the Sun begins to rapidly descend from its heights come September, accelerated more so by the north facing slope rising above my childhood home, the long shadows cast across our pasture, each day stretching further out of reach, the cold sets in.. every Fall this phenomenon is acutely present in my phyche and my heart. Its a powerful time of year. Good fireworks story!

I think Mercury in an Earth sign trips people up because we associate Mercury with communication which we attribute to the mental realm. But I think things like, the ability to focus and concentrate is actually very earthy .. also things like, reason, wisdom, idealism, and service to others. These seem like the gifts of Virgo to me. But learning to use them skillfully is another story and I think that’s why we are called perfectionist and nit picky 😋
Being a Gemini I often marvel at my Virgo friend's depth, breadth & mastery of situations with true managerial overview leading to correct assessment & outcomes. The skill of critique/(criticism) is crucial for correct assessment. Not always comfortable to one's ego when offered to oneself but most often correct. Virgo's gifts are seen as criticism initially, but upon reflection are most helpful depth charges!
As a virgo with several virgo placements, I feel none of the conflict mentioned however, am not particularly introspective. Virgo is a mutable sign so is flexible. Virgo does not just get a PhD in small things. We get a PhD in everything. Virgos are driven by the need to acquire knowledge then arrange that knowledge into patterns that reveal ultimate truths. We are aloof because we are content keeping company with our own deep thoughs.

Yes! You get Virgos. I have zero experience with so many of the "Virgo traits" mentioned anywhere unless Virgo is defined by the building blocks: modality, polarity, orientation and element. Too much conflation with the astro alphabet and sixth house issues. Further the myth describes an independent woman who is wedded to herself first and foremost.
Deep & eloquent, Acyuta-bhava. Thank you. With my Sun & Rising in the Temple of Mercury, I feel you absolutely articulated the essence of the "tensions of opposites" of being Virgo. When I was young, the need to split was so intense. My renunciation of the "material" world, a kind of self-starvation, ever present-- versus the Dionysian acting out. Perhaps the saving Grace of natal Mercury at 0 Libra square 0 Saturn in Capricorn & my exalted Moon in Taurus, helped me to suffer (in time) towards more equilibrium-- being able to hold on to my self while giving love to others & also hanging beautiful art on the once bare, white walls of my "home".

#grabbedMisconceptions of the sign Virgo I am a self employed massage therapist. Sunday night I developed a sore throat and had a full week of clients. It’s always a struggle to stay home and take care of myself vs. my clients. I did stay home and was rewarded with calls from new clients plus I feel well enough to return to work tomorrow. Thank you for your clear description of this ongoing conflict/opportunity.
Acyuta, after all these years and FINALLY being guided to study with you in your Ancient Astrology for the Modern Mystic class and these beautiful explanations of each sign being reinforced in these amazing videos, I am understanding clearer than ever what everything is all about...including my 2nd Mom... (I don't like the word "step" when it comes to relationships!) who was a Virgo Sun, Cancer Moon, Scorpio Rising. Her sun shone EVER SO brightly! Like her personal emblem! Mix that with the Cancer Moon and Scorpio Rising...what a trip life was with her in it!...sweet, sour, orderly and strict all in one package...also VERY loyal and protective!)! Virgo here with other planets there as well who was not going to comment because it won't be perfect! In fact, I purposely went away in order to avoid the temptation. But throughout the beginning, a lyric I often force myself to recall, and which only serves to slightly minimize whatever distress has been brought on by a minor flaw, came to mind, from the Leonard Cohen song Anthem. "There's a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in." While away, a full song by Concrete Blonde (whose singer/songwriter, Johnette Napolitano, covered and admired Mr. Cohen) crept in, "The darkening of the light." I sometimes feel as if my entire life has been somewhat a Dark Night of the Soul, and wonder now if being of this sun sign might be part of the reason, that darkness.
She's a Virgo too. "Joey" is such a Virgoan song. In my Top 100 songs. I have a list for every singer, song and actress.
I got to wondering if she was - thanks. Agree about "Joey." If I had to pick a favorite, I think it would be "Walking in London."
Absolutely amazing, Virgo Moon here. Thank you for this. It resonates to the core. I feel blessed to have found you here on YT, have been following you for a few years now. I love this Series about the misconceptions. This should be basic training in school. How to appreciate ALL signs and understand each other and our intentions SO much better. So that we create CONNECTION, which we all want and need.
I have Venus, Mercury, Saturn and Mars in Virgo in the 12th. my life has involved a deep transformation from living with and trying to please toxic and abusive people to being willing to let go and focus on my own mental health. The hidden world of subconscious programming, faith/spiritual maturity and the conscious rewiring of the brain has been my life’s focus since a crisis that spurred my need for transformation. I spend a lot of energy and care into how best to communicate interpersonally and serve the world, while at the same time, protecting and considering what makes me happy and healthy. In a world like the one we are in today, there are no shortage of opportunities to seek out what my heart wants vs. the pressures from other people/society/fears etc. Your description about living with and being keen to the consequences of our actions is I think the most accurate portrayal of my experience. For me one of the biggest keys has been trying to embody a fearlessly faithful perspective.

I don’t know that Virgo was a doubled body sign. All what you have shared, makes sense.
My mom and brother are Virgos Sun. My dad was Taurus Sun. Other brother is Cancer Sun. At times, it was a rough emotional household.
Getting back to what you shared with us, being complete, feeling whole,,, The Divine Validates me. I validate me. All by love!

Thank you! Extremely relatable as I have NN, Jupiter, Moon, & Mars in the 1st half of Virgo and Saturn at the end of Virgo opposing Venus in Pisces.
I have a long-time friend who isn’t into astrology, and I respect that and don’t go too much into my “astrotalk” with him. After watching this episode, I sent him a text message and briefly explained the series without much detail regarding the misconceptions. Instead, I focused on the life experiences you mentioned in the clients’ charts. His reply was, “Hmmmm...interesting”.
In over 20 years, this is the closest thing to a positive response I’ve received from him regarding astrology. The same friend once told me that I need to “See the forest from the trees,” that quote has stuck with me since he said it.
Balancing the dichotomy is something I’ve been working on and probably always will. Some coaching on “getting things out there” instead of having it have to be perfect has helped me as well. I also can’t think of a performance review or evaluation, both in grad school and work where “organized” wasn’t mentioned.

I have Mercury in Virgo at 29° this was a very accurate description. Ive dealt with a lot of these themes especially when I was younger. I would describe it as a sense of self preservation. I was terrified to get older when I was a kid. There are tons of examples of this type of thing in my life as well as inevitable events that lead to the darkness and loss of innocence. Me too! Sun in Virgo in a stellium with Pluto and Uranus but also have Mercury at 28° Virgo. When asked what I wanted to be when I grew up, my answer was, 'a child.'

@@katrinacourneyea5573 so what did you become may I ask? I have been married twice, now solo, two sons who are definitely adult children (gamers) and I have always kept my inner child in tact. I am 61 now and I am mistaken for being much younger. My inner child has been what has saved me. Innocence can be a saving Grace as Adam has stated.

I don’t have placements in Virgo, but I totally resonate with the need to balance individual desires with what is asked of me from partnership/society, etc. and not completely surrender to the other. Maybe I need more Virgo energy in my life. But seriously, I feel like I understand Virgo much better now.

Also,if it wasn't for Krsna consciousness I wouldn't have been able to navigate this path considering how the west promotes sexuality and enjoyment and purity....Recently just empowering my love for...good,clean fun... eg....the beach,gardening,dancing without alcohol or drugs...man I love being a Virgo!!!!
I love this series. Both of my parents are Virgos, in fact, one of them has a stellium in Virgo. As a result, I've adopted a lot of those struggles Virgos deal with despite having Aries and Cancer heavy birth chart. It felt like I've had to fold myself perfectly and put it into a matchbox, be compact and useful. The judgment part was really interesting though because I happen to have a strong Saturn placement in my birth chart (going through a Saturn return right now), and the Virgo/exalted mercury judgment I've experienced felt quite different from Saturnian judgment. The judgment coming from Virgo/exalted mercury was so pervasive and never-ending that it felt like torture with no cause nor result. The Saturnian judgment was really challenging at times but ended up being something that I could potentially recommend. Thanks again for your work!

This is much appreciated for a Virgo rising with your Ronis on my ascendant and cancer stallion in my tenth Mars sun moon Venus then Mercury mid in Gemini. I am that woman that needs change to live that creates change good or bad reasons I really resonate with those greens affection. I’ve never really felt like I’ve been with a man that wouldn’t let me be free. I don’t do well with the word no. And funny enough I was raised in a matriarchal family so I’ve never really thought that I couldn’t speak up to man for the above them and I think All female Virgos kind of feel they are anyway.

Virgo ASC here. I wanted to be a nun when I was young because I loved the ritual and the whole priestess vibe and I was raised Protestant. There was some sense of deep devotion. Being and Aries Sun who wants to go fast, this is a hard combo because Virgo wants things to be right - look good too, Virgo cleans before she decorates. The linens are washed, the furniture dusted, the brass polished - and then it is put together to satisfy Venus. Such an interesting combination. Great video - I feel both sides of this - Mercury and Venus.

I’m a Virgo sun with a 4 planet stellium in Virgo as well. I also have a Capricorn rising so the myths are true for me and maybe it’s my cap rising that permits me from ‘letting loose” maybe I need a pole installed in my home!? Lmao!
I am very self critical (working on that) and have unattainable perfectionist tendencies (maybe that’s enhanced by my Venus and Mercury in libra?)
I don’t know as I’m not an astrologer. I also love living clean (no drinking, etc) and clean eating, I love organizing and having an orderly home.

That was really interesting very insightful.i lived with a virgo for 11 years . This definiteiy gave me more understanding of him. one of our problems was fault of him dredging up past mistakes or bad choices or taking something done in past and.using it in a hurtful, as judgement against others and /or myself in a quite hurtful and demeaning way. is this just them or is it a personality trait of virgo? it is my understanding from your teaching that signs and houses are the same thing is this right ? Can they be used inter changeable? Also is there a link to the teaching of the other houses or signs? I'd love to listen to them?

Amazing!! You are amazing. I read "The Astrology of Fate" many many years ago, I'll be going back to read it again now.) My family including parents was/were an air and fire sign affair. While my mother had a fateful looking stellium of all but one of the heavenly bodies. Family was obviously heavily male and fire, especially Aires. Virgo Sun for me, with Saturn nearby, born into a family with 8 siblings (big traditional Irish family). I feel I've come of an age to begin to perceive human life patterns a little better. My brother just older was an Aires, I myself have an Aires moon. (and Sag rising). The feminine side of the family is important too. That's where the Air is. I suppose I've been thinking for a while with some of the perspective I got from Liz Green's book. My sisters were God's (or karma's) gifts (astrologically) to me, both just younger, With my youngest brothers, identical twins born on the cusp of Gemini/Cancer things seemingly get more complex but . . . I think it's maybe why I got into Astrology in the first place very early in life. "Who the hell are these people, and why are they all so crazy," I might have asked myself. Anyway, I loved hearing (of course I did) you mention some sort of super secret special relationship between Virgo and Aires. It may break my heart because both of my Aires brothers have already passed away. But whatever you said came across kind of blurred out. I'll go and watch again, but still, it sounds like you may have the matter churning in your mind so . . . ? Another more pointy question, one that your audience might want to hear debunked (or whatever?). I read decades ago, in someone's more or less general Astrology book, that you should maybe look at a graph table of your planets, etc. In the three cells across the top of the graph, you will plot planets according to Cardinal, fixed, or mutable, and in the four rows below those labels then plop the planets into their appropriate cells according to the element Air, Fire, Earth, Water, of the sign they appear in in the birth chart. It is then possible to reckon which column and which row dominate the chart. I myself clearly come out Fire and Cardinal dominate, thus = Aires . Bon Soir.

As a 4 personal planet in Virgo Astrologer, i tend to assess an astrologers strength by their evaluation of Virgo and Scorpio..."not too bad, but stay with the study" 😉
Could you make a video about the debate around the sidereal vs. tropical? It is still something I don’t quite get and I do have issues with other astrologers around it. Still trying to understand.

By validating, adding perspective, lighting up, or clearing up misconception, does that change my relationship with conception? Hope not. My mom is a Virgo, and my libra dad and her are divorced. Before he left he hired a scorpio to work on the house, that workman mentioned wasn't Aries over here. Im pretty sure she hates me, Aquarius, and tolerates me during a time when the trauma and loss turned me inside out and unable to break away from the special placements of those details you mentioned. After the rooting through the undoing of my conscious intentions and lifelong off the beaten paths.
