When Caleb initially had this idea , I thought the concept of this series was gonna be gold. After seeing the video format of the first few videos My mind is changed. The main audience (golfers) will never watch this channel with the way the content is shot. We want to see the steps your taking to improve, breaking down gameplay, and high quality shots of the courses your playing . For someone that moved to complete this goal I just don’t see the effort he’s putting in , hopefully I’m wrong and this is just the beginning for this channel . Playing more frequently isn’t enough to become a scratch golfer , you need to put years of your life into this .
@k I don’t think he was doing a long drawn out joke? He hasn’t put out any other content, portnoy approved of the move to Florida etc. and I hope you know that no one expects him to become a pro ... he mentioned being a scratch golfer so that’s the goal I assumed he was going for . I am realistic about the game which is the reason that I suggested for him to improve his content by showing us progress along the way instead of shit commentary that has nothing to do with the game. If you are somehow right and it is a long con joke he is doing a pretty shit job at it .
@@golfgod6243 I hope we are all wrong, but it looks unlikely that he really intends on putting the work in. I think he got sick of NYC during the pandemic and realized an opportunity to go party in FL. Again. I hope we are wrong because I love CP: he is genuinely hilarious and wish the best for him. However, I think he purposefully says “I will be this level by this time otherwise I will quit” as a planned exit strategy for this content. My best guess is that in 1 year he will be back in NYC with The Yak bros once he has partied his way through Florida. If he gets serious about golf, I think his content will reflect that, but right now he is not serious about golf. At the end of the day I don’t really give a shit, I just wish he would make more videos lol.

His initial podcasts were super good, really unpacking what it’s like to start as a beginner and the road to improvement, had high hopes for it. I really do hope that he starts documenting more of his journey, because his initial idea was great. Couldn’t agree more with your opinion.

I saw the caption of this video and was shocked once I saw your swing. You have an excellent swing it just needs to be tuned up a little, commit to not playing on the course so much, and have more fun at the range and par 3 courses. Just broke 80 today and I have been playing for 8 months, keep up the hard work!
I think those shorts provide extra velocity In your downswing, generated by the painful squeezing of your man parts.

It won't be long until we see the "wow golf is a lot harder than I thought " video. His boys at barstool will rag on him and make fun of him in a video, and he'll just quit. He won't be able to break 100 for years, and there is no way he is committed enough to do so.
I’m kind of embarrassed that I did thought he was being serious, at least about doing better content than this. The pod started good but then he had nothing to talk about because he wasn’t doing anything and started talking about bitcoin and shit who no one cares. It’s kind of sad because he got 8k subs on RUclips fairly quick and with barstool behind and him being funny and likeable this should’ve been pretty successful but the content has been absolute shit for now. I hope he doesn’t quit and starts making better content. There are so many RUclips Golfers he could make content with and also showing real progress with a teacher and shit like that. He’s blowing it for now.
Also, this guys like Caleb have shit to do all day but to make content, and when an opportunity comes like this and you don’t take it, you’re just lazy who got lucky. I thought, “well he doesn’t have to do anything all day but to practice so maybe he will get good relatively faster than most” but I’m not seeing it. Imagine going to the range every day at 7, hitting balls practicing putting and then go play 9 or 18, then comeback and hit more balls. That’s all you have to do and what pisses me off is that he has the time and is also getting paid to do so and still show shit content like this.
I definitely wouldn't recommend playing from the tips right now haha.

the good news is it seems like you're actually a pretty decent putter... however, you need to play with less clubs. honestly i bet you could shoot 100 with just a 7iron, SW/56degree, and a putter. learn to play with just those 3 clubs and when you get those down we'll move on to the others.

Can’t believe this dude thinks he can be scratch in a year and pro in 10. Someone who cares about him needs to have a talk with him and help him adjust his expectations. He could MAYBE be scratch (I’m talking legit scratch on legit courses, no gimme mulligan bro shit) from the tips after 10 years but no guarantee. I’m NOT hating. I’m just a lifetime golfer legit scratch who respects both Caleb and the game of golf speaking out of exp. All the experts he’s interviewed knew this but they didn’t want to tell him to his face.

tuck your chin to your chest. it looks like you are pulling you head up which is pulling your whole upper body up causing all the topped balls and super low shots. Also you are relying to much on your upper body alone. your legs stay mostly stagnate until you finishing your swing. All the best, keep grinding and success will come.
The head down thing is a bit of a myth and his eyes are on the ball long enough. I think it's just a sequencing issue which happens with new golfers.
If you play at x0.25 and pause around 0:12, 0:20 and 0:22, you see his head down but the shots aren't pretty.

No offense Caleb because I think you're a funny guy, but your golf content has been seriously lacking here. Foreplay Golf, Trent Breaking 100, that content is awesome. Your podcast talks about crypto way too much. And I like crypto, but I don't necessarily want to hear you drone on about that. It's your show, I get it, but up the golf content output, please. This is seriously all we get? A 2 minute video and nothing in May? Come on, man.
This had a super promising start in how you left for Florida, were working with Como, you interviewed interesting people like Dan Plan and Stack and Tilt, etc. but we need some course vlogs, instruction vlogs, range sessions, off-the-course strategizing, tours of Jupiter and south Florida, seeing the beauty of this area.
