      Portugal is one of the safest countries you can travel to! Crime levels are very low and honestly we haven't heard of any "unsafe" places. We'd just recommend to stay as close as possible to the downtown area as Lisbon, for example, has many hills and if you're staying further away you might have a long walk up the hill!! 😅

      Tipping is really not mandatory in Europe! We sometimes just round up the bill (if it's 18€ we would give a 20€ and tell them to keep the change). But in bars, we usually get the change. It's really up to you tbh 😁

    Just got back from Portugal. Honestly, I expected much more from Lisbon. It just seemed very overrated. There are much more interesting portuguese cities, like Coimbra and Porto.
    Firstly. the center is crowded, not very clean and full of pickpockets and drug dealers and there is not that much to see. Tram 28 was very disappointing. I mean, it's just a tram, but it's overcrowded and you still have to wear a mask on board even in the summer, same thing with the elevators. And most importantly, the people felt very unfriendly and arrogant, especially the bus drivers (even worse in the Algarve region to the south).
    On the other hand, there is some great food and pastries for relatively low prices and Belém was fantastic! It was definitely my favorite part of the city. It's also worth taking the boat to Almada. Very interesting neighborhood, kinda feels like South America and the Christ statue with the view is impressive. Unfortunately, it closes quite early at 7PM.
    Definitely, take a day-trip to Sintra, you can also manage to see the Cabo da Roca and the nearby town of Cascais in one day. There is a hop-on hop-off bus from Sintra, which will take you to all of these places for just 11 EUR.

      it is absolutely not “bye-ho”! Don't bring out Brazilian-Portuguese pronunciation into a video about Portugal, please!! The author of this video was almost correct. The Portuguese word "Bairro" should be pronounced, "bye-roo", with an emphasis on the double "R" (which is a bit of a challenge to most native-English speakers), in European Portuguese!

    • @Xdarkstar07X
      @Xdarkstar07X 2 года назад

      @@miguelcoelho3877 Huh??? So you're telling me for the word "Cachorro" you say Ca-sho-rrow and not Ca-sho-ho ??? . Double R's make a H, I'm pretty sure. The reason I know it's that is because my girlfriend from Sesimbra cussed me out for rolling my double R instead of using H kkkkk

    • @miguelcoelho3877
      @miguelcoelho3877 2 года назад +1

      @@Xdarkstar07X It is only in Brazilian-Portuguese that a double "R" is pronounced as an "H". Maybe your girlfriend is Brazilian, or maybe she's lived there and caught their pronunciation. Whatever the case may be, a double "R" in European Portuguese is not pronounced as an "H"! I've encountered a similar situation on a vlog by an American in Lisbon, where he pronounced "Rossio" as "Hossio" undoubtedly after getting his Portuguese pronunciation tips from some Brazilian website...
      BTW, the word "Cachorro", although Portuguese, is seldom used in Portugal. It is however most common in Brazil, making thus me believe that you've learned your Portuguese from a Brazilian source. Ditto, for your use of "kkkkk" to illustrate laughter, as in European Portuguese we use "haha".

    • @Xdarkstar07X
      @Xdarkstar07X 2 года назад

      @@miguelcoelho3877 Her family is from CABO VERDE, but she grew up in Sesimbra. Evidently, I have alot of friends from Brazil (RJ), so I can understand why my dialect is from there. I only used Cachorro as a example, and yes i'm aware the other word is "cão". My apologies for my lack of awareness with the Portugal-Portuguese dialect. I always thought it was H for Double R, and if the word starts with R. I seem to have been mistaken
