Modimus Prime Yeah. They may as well have not listened to it. I also find their attempt to give upbeat comments about a song so miserable and dark pretty painful... ‘festival singalong song’ indeed. Hahaha.

Deftones are at their best when the guitars and bass create a wall of sound and they let Chino and the drummer Abe do all kinds of wandering and floating around. That's why a song like this and a song like 'Minerva' are great. Chino finds the most odd ways of creating vocal melodies because his technique is so unorthodox for rock and metal.

@@Beccahere Awesome! There are a lot of cool deftones songs but I recently found out about this new one called Acid Hologram and it takes you to another galaxy. I really recommended it.

Deftones are really unique and have changed a lot over the years. One of my favorite bands, and I especially liked the Around the Fur album. I saw your other video with My Own Summer, and I agree about how the contrast in that song is amazing. Here's a few others that came to mind that I think share that same kind of tone that are in the metal genre:
Kittie- What I Always Wanted
Hed P.E.- Feel Good (Explicit)

five finger death punch is barely if at all even considered metal... just felt like I had to throw that out there.
I mean... They have some 'core' aspects, but there's plenty of metal in them. Not to defend them as artists, because they're complete ass. But I find it odd that people don't want them to even be a part of the genre.
Stars Die I just don't like them, they're like nickelback to me... just trying to be a little "heavier" but the bigger songs by them are covers not even original songs by the band... they are more just rock in my opinion, they come off as fake and 'pop-ish/media friendly' and that's not what metal is at all... not to say metal can't be popular or something that gets media attention, just more generally speaking.

Disliked because you're each only hearing one side of the song. Most songs are mixed in stereo. When you have only one headphone in you are missing whatever elements/instruments are panned to the other side.
