Day 1 Buzzing Around Europe- Motorcycle Camping

Tuesday morning we hopped on the train right from LGW airport. All was going well until there was an incident on the tracks involving a person and a train. After that all of the trains to Southampton were cancelled. We waited at Barnham station for a bit. Got my first cup of tea in England. Made by Emma in the little shop. Paired with our first sausage rolls it was delicious! Waited and waited a bit more. Went in the shop for some waters and found some candies and a few good laughs with Emma. Met Petra who was also waiting for the train, a friendly woman originally from Germany but lives in England now. She was travelling for work. We had a nice visit and it made the time pass quicker. Next came Julie who was going to surprise her parents who are on holiday on the Isle of Wight. She planned to take the train, a ferry and then cycle to their hotel. We really enjoyed their company and it helped make our first day in England much better than if we had been stuck waiting for the train with no friends! We ended up on 2 or 3 trains with them on the journey when the train started running again. Arrived in Southampton to find that all the hotels were full. So we walked over to the police station to see what they suggested. They found an airbnb in Bitterne and offered to drive us there when they got off in 10 min. Deb and Charlotte were fantastic, super friendly and helpful! The garden house was just what we needed to get some rest! Marc suggested the Humble Plum for dinner but they weren't serving food by the time we arrived so we went to his 2nd choice the Red Lion and it was perfect. Curry for T and Salad for me.
