Patsy Cline has one of the best country voices around. Patsy had so many great hits such as "She's Got You", "When I Get Through With You", "Sweet Dreams", "So Wrong", "Leavin' on Your Mind", "Walkin' After Midnight", "I Fall To Pieces" "San Antonio Rose", "Blue Moon Of Kentucky", "Half As Much", "He Called Me Baby", "Faded Love", "Imagine That". She was only 31 when she died in a plane crash in 1963. In 1985 Jessica Lange starred in the movie about Patsy's life called "Sweet Dreams".
GenXers and Zers need to pay attention to the old school music. When I was growing up, my parents listened to country and contemporary music. When I got my own little transistor, I listened to what we call today a station that played "mix" music. Country, jazz, contemporary, pop, blues, and zydeco on an AM station out of New Orleans. We were living on the Mississippi Gulf Coast at the time.
She had that head band on to cover up stitches she had just had in her forehead because she was in a bad car accident that almost killed her. She was determined to continue to sing and so she produced this video of her new song. 🎶 I just realized she was born the same year as my mother. My mother looked very similar to Patsy Cline. Loved them both. Rest in peace, mama and Patsy. You are missed!
Patsy was my mother's absolute favorite. I heard her blaring through the house every weekend growing up. Not my style of music, but, I can still appreciate her extreme talent. It is hard to hear her still though.
Mrs PenPal...Patsy was my Dad's favorite from years way back...I cant help thinking of my Dad when I hear Patsy...you gotta hear more of her songs. Loved your reaction...A Fan from Texas
Nothing better than Patsy Cline.. perfection.. She had that thing on her forehead because she was still recovering from a car accident that almost killed her. It's so sad she died so young in an airplane accident. .. her voice was FIRE
A voice like Patsy's comes along once in a generation; it just melts your heart and wraps around your soul. So beautiful. Loved your reaction, young lady. 💚
Walking After Midnight, and Sweet Dreams are two more of my favorites from her. There’s an amazing movie about her life. Starring Jessica Lang as her, but it’s all her vocals in the movie.
I am a 67 year old white male who love rock and roll Patsy Cline Loretta Lynn Jeannie c Riley are all great country singers and I love them all you might want to listen to Reba McEntire also
Original title was Stupid. I think it was a producer that told Willie Nelson he should change it to Crazy. It could be sung with either word, or perhaps some other ones. Like, Insane, Foolish, Wacky, Kooky, Daffy, Psycho, Loony, and other words.
Best Female voice, all time, any genre! other great hits, She’s got you, Sweet Dreams, Walking After Midnight, Blue Moon of Kentucky, I Fall To Pieces, Leaving On Your Mind, Stronger Than Me. What’s crazy is how long it took you to react to the greatest female singer of all time. 😜
You're our best friend, Blessing. Thank you for this lovely reaction to Miss Patsy Cline. She's wonderful and you are wonderful! I loved this reaction! 🤎🎤🎹
Could you please react to Aretha Franklin's performance of "Natural Woman" at the Kennedy Center in tribute to Carole King (who wrote the song). I don't think you'll be disappointed.
her voice was magic her life was hectic from abusive husband to alcohol binges just a wild life for a mom her and Loretta lynn were great friends her early death a tragady
Willie Nelson wrote this song along with "Night Life" and "How Time Slips Away". That's a career for most songwriters. Patsy really didn't like the song initially and didn't want to record it but her husband and producer convinced her to give it a shot so she did one take and was done with it (until it took off)
Great reaction. It was once said that this song was the number one song played on Jukeboxes in saloons around the world. Not sure how they would know such a thing but, it seems absolutely true.
You got leaving on your mind , Sweet dreams, are just a Couple of Patsy Cline songs that you will love . Her vocals are so unique and beautiful. Such a talent but sadly she was killed in an airplane crash at 31 years old.
How could this performance NOT be one of the best of all time!? In the world of country music, it doesn't get any better than adding Patsy's voice and style to one of Willie Nelson's best songs. We're blessed to have recordings of many of Patsy's songs, but my top two are "Crazy" and "I Fall to Pieces" ( ruclips.net/video/iuZTk1hdpMs/видео.html ).
Patsy died very young in a plane crash at 33. It was unbelievable to people who were fans of her. She died too young but left a lot of great music! 😢 RIP!
Hi again MrsPenPal, You melted. Patsy had that effect. I mentioned on the other post that Tori did a short cover of Crazy. Here it is: ruclips.net/user/shorts-EzpBGRl2Bw?si=lTj354FFfGNmZ-gN I’m going to Kofi and queue up her recent cover of Suddenly. It’s from the 1980 movie Xanadu. Originally sung by Cliff Richard and Olivia Newton-John. This will showcase her other end of the vocal range. You previously heard her Carpenters cover, Alto/Contralto. This is Soprano and with a different collaborator. Dan Wesley from the UK. I think if you’re unfamiliar with the song checking the original might be a good idea. It’s over 40 years old so it’s not really a spoiler, just an introduction. I hope you enjoy. Joe
She was so fabulous. One of the most beautiful voices ever. 😊
The song Crazy was written by Willie Nelson.

Had she not died at such a young age, Patsy Cline would have gone on to record pop ballads as well. Her voice was that great.

Listening to Patsy is like bathing in liquid velvet. No one before her or since can grab you and hold you throughout a performance.
There was no one like Patsy Cline. She could inflect her voice to make it seem like she was crying. Fantastic!
Yes wonderful
They call her country and you can not put her in a box because she has a lot of soul in her voice! ❤😊
💯
A true voice for the ages, we lost her way too soon.
She had that head band on to cover up stitches she had just had in her forehead because she was in a bad car accident that almost killed her. The greatest female country singer there ever was! Any song you listen to, you will love. Patsy felt very song she sings.
Sublime, even after all these years.
I love this song by her. What a beautiful talent. Loving your reaction too, MrsPP. 😉
Hi Russ 😇✨
@MrsPenPal Hi!
Patsy was my mother's absolute favorite. I heard her blaring through the house every weekend growing up.
Not my style of music, but, I can still appreciate her extreme talent.
It is hard to hear her still though.
Now you know why she was the queen of country music
she sings all her songs like she's living it

Awwh thanks you also have excellent taste ✨
Patsy told Willie Nelson she would record his new song, but he would have to change the title, which originally was "Stupid".
😂😅
Absolutely timeless... 😎

Love your reaction. You're always able to feel the essence of both the music and the artist.

Couple of Patsy Cline songs that you will love . Her vocals are so unique and beautiful. Such a talent but sadly she was killed in an airplane crash at 31 years old.
So sad thanks for the suggestions
What is amazing is that this was recorded way before autotune was even a glimmer .. that was all her.
...and singing this four weeks after envolved in a head-on car wreak, fracturing a couple of ribs and scaring her forehead. Headband covers the scars.
The original title to this song was "Stupid". It was written by Willie Nelson.
😮
Still the number one song of all time by a female Country singer :) Ask anyone.
If you think Paths had a unique voice you should check out Timi Yuro. " What's the matter baby? " and " Hurt " are two great hits.
Class!
This song was written by Willie Nelson. Check out Patsy's "Sweet Dreams".
she took Willie Nelson's song and made it her own, simply wonderful

Patsy was raised in Winchester Virginia in what's been considered the wrong side of the tracks.
The headband she wears in the video was to cover an injury that she received in a recent car accident...
Wow so sad pretty lady with dedication to her craft she didn’t let her stop her 💜
☮️💙💙💙🔥🔥😍
Hi Lynn
I just found "Kalandra - I Am"
Would you please listen to Three Dog Night, Black and White? I'm curious to hear your thoughts..
Try listening to Billie Holiday's " Strange Fruit."
Thanks
There are brief loves that are lived very intensely and make you remember the flavors of those sweet kisses 🌺
This song mark's Willie Nelson's big break: he wrote this one for her.
