    Shirt Stays are a game-changing product, which work by comfortably attaching your shirt to your socks with adjustable elastic braces. Hidden beneath your trousers, they make sure that your socks will never slip down and - most importantly - your shirt will stay tucked in the whole day long.

    the metal clips rub on the leg and when doing a lot of walking can rub the skin raw. Any ideas what to wrap the metal clips with? I thought about using band aids but I don't if it will mess the clip up. the metal clip i'm referring to is the piece that makes it loose or tight. This does make the shirt look good though.

    Aren’t there stays that attach to your boxer shorts? I’ve seen pictures of them, but from the 1940s-50s. Do they still make them? I think they were an alternative to sock garters.

    • @sharpanddapper
      @sharpanddapper  9 месяцев назад

      There are indeed versions that attaches your underwear to your socks. I have tried them and I'm not a fan. The tension that you get from the underwear version is not great and when you raise your arms, your underwear follows suit, and there's nothing pulling the underwear/shirt back down.

    • @fd9987
      @fd9987 9 месяцев назад

      Thank you. It occurred to me later that they were from the days when socks did not have elastic. Although elastic only works so well. I do use sock garters on occasion, especially with sheer socks or formal silk socks.

      sharp & dapper I have 7 button shirts yet near the belt I have some opening due to the pulling of the shirt stays on sides lol

      @sharpanddapper  6 лет назад

      Wow, just must be quite tall or the shirts very short. That's the problem with a lot of shirts these days. The companies want to save money and the best way to do it is to use less fabric.

    • @sharpanddapper
      @sharpanddapper  6 лет назад +1

      It does take a few times to get used to it. Check out this video I made where I explain a bit more how to attach the clip. ruclips.net/video/J_rMEt1b10I/видео.html
      I hope it will help.

      Does it break when the clips are being pressed whenever I sit on the chair because I usually clip my shirt at the back part. Second, I wear them not too tight or slack but they always loose whenever I sit

    • @sharpanddapper
      @sharpanddapper  6 лет назад

      Srix Nope, they never come off for me. Sounds very odd. Did you get them from my company?

    • @srix6134

      I bought them in Lazada called Bolehdeals

    • @sharpanddapper
      @sharpanddapper  6 лет назад

      Srix I had a look. The shirt Stays on sale there uses really cheap clips. I’m not surprised you’re having problem with them. I’m sorry that I can’t be of more help but the materials in those shirt stays are quite bad.

      Hi, I wear them every time I fly and they do not set of the metal detectors.
      When you fly in the US and use the scanner, they do show but it's never a problem.

      XxKarlosxX you’ll be surprised. Once you wear them you can feel it. And when the trousers are on no one can tell you are wearing them. Great accessory. Not for everyone though.

      munchman Fully adjustable so they will be comfortable. It does take a few wears to get used to them. Once that’s done, you won’t know they are there.

    • @sharpanddapper
      @sharpanddapper  7 лет назад

      The main idea is not the sock but for the shirt to stay tucked in. The sock is just an added bonus. :)

      I'm aware of the first world problem of your dress shirt losing that perfect tuck.
      Business/formal attire for men hasn't changed much in generations while women's has changed drastically. This is like women still wearing pointy, steel cage bras.

    • @f3rzz476
      @f3rzz476 8 лет назад +1

      ***** "This is like women still wearing pointy, steel cage bras." well you're talking about style/fashion here.. In this case the shirt stays or garters are not used for fashion purposes, but for the function of keeping your shirt tucked in. I wouldn't say it's a first world problem, as in any third world country an intelligent person in an upper class society would also care about their presentation.
