I like the weight of the decoville light. The bulk in the zipper area might be reduced by eliminating it in the zipper seam completely. I do that on a lot of my bags and it works wonders.
Great bag and tutorial! Once I learned to sew the zipper pocket, I feel compelled to add one to pretty much every bag. So daunting at first but once you get it...boom!
@@OklaRoots wow your videos are always bright, warm and welcoming .... totally off topic but I watched your RUclips video about your setup but still can't figureit out .. I want to do a sewing tutorial and have a aerial view of what am sewing at the machine , the equipment I now have is backdrop kit, tripods, umbrella light kit, metal boom, base on what I currently have how can I achieve the overhead video or shot what would I need to purchase? Or better yet what equipment you use to achieve your overhead videoing? Thank you in advance
This bag is so cute. I love the options for the bottom. Both styles look great. Another amazing tutorial. You always make it look so doable. Thank you for making me feel like I can try anything.
I went to buy this pattern (great tutorial!) and found that her Simple Flora pattern is something I’ve been looking for! Very excited to try both of these.
I'm new to sewing bags-I've made 6 of the Dogwalking Crossbody bags. I've watching this video and I truly think I have the skills to make this bag and I have YOU to Thank for that! I've been looking at a lot of the websites you recommend-but the vinyl REALLY has me overwhelmed-I know fabric as I've sewn quilts off and on for years-but the Vinyl stores...I couldn't figure out if it was pre-order only-and/how big the unit was-is there a way you could do a tutorial on the various types of vinyl and or how they come? I REALLY enjoy your tutorials-they are EXTREMELY well done!
I think if I use the decovil, I’ll cut it out of the zipper seam. It should still give your bag body, but it will make the top stitching MUCH easier! This is my favorite way to box the outside of bags! I think it looks so elegant. I haven’t done it in a long time, but now I want to go make one! By the way, have you noticed you’re almost at 100,000 subscribers?? You totally deserve it!
I made the bag with the alternative bottom. I really like it, but I feel like the inner pockets could be a little smaller. I am going to try another with the bottom that you've done. Thanks for the great tutorial Jess!
I found Chicago screws in my stash on the weekend wondering what on earth I would use them for! Woohoo! Thanks Jess..this video came at the right time ❣️
Already grabed the pattern, just love so much the way it turn out... as always your videos are so awesome!!!! Big kiss from Terceira Island, Azores, Portugal
Jess l love your videos. Thanks for taking the time to explain every detail, and l love your vibe l feel like l know you in person and we are friends . Thank you, God bless your talent 😊
I ordered the pattern and used your discount code, didn't get discount and didn't get email for my download either however got confirmation that I had been charged. Will email designer and hope I can at least get my pattern. It is a great bag and as usual your tutorial was so well done, thank you. Look forward to making this one. UPDATE... THANK YOU Tobi Stylx I got your email with pattern today, Sunday May 16. Beautiful bag looking forward to making this bag with the help of this great tutorial!!
@@mickas6559 I went to the website tobistylx.com and to the "Contact" option on bottom of main page. There is form type email that evidently goes to tobi@tobistylx.com. I have sent 3 requesting link for purchased pattern and still no response.

I didn't see a place to include the 15% off on Tobi's website. This bag is "SO STINKIN' CUTE". Thanks again for a great video, Jess, I'm looking forward to putting this one together.
Would it benefit to sew the front parts of the exterior together, topstitch, and then add the decovil light as one piece to the entire front? It just seems like it would reduce bulk at the seams. Or is there a reason I wouldn’t want to do this?
Jess - please do an ita bag tutorial. I need some for my Disney pins and there’s no video tutorials. I found a few patterns but no videos. You have spoiled me with your videos!
Thanks for the video. Would you use the Decovil for garment leather that is really soft? I have no experience with vinyl so no way of comparing the two.
Great video and super cute bag! Went to grab the pattern, sadly can’t purchase unless you have paypal, which I don’t......Or something called rave.....
Tried to purchase....the page to check out asks for billing info- then an email and password - hit "Pay with Pay Pal" 6 charges - no pattern or email?? No way to "sign up" creating password other than at check out.. Is there any "contact" info to address problem?? Thanks
I'm so sorry about this, just going through the comments now and I saw this, please send a message to tobistylx@gmail.com so I can send the pattern directly to your email.
cute bag, ive seen the bottom before by a korean woman i follow on youtube she makes lovely bags, but the ones she does doesnt have a seam along the bottom its one piece very unusual, and unique,

You are such a great teacher! No confusion here.
The designer has now fixed all the issues!
Love it Jess! Piping is easy to add into a seam, ending it before it gets to a bulky part...
Very cute and had to buy it! Thank you for another great tutorial.
Thank you so much for covering tension adjustment & needles in your videos. Helps so so much 😊

Do the Fanny pack pattern tutorial!!! It’s so pretty and looks so hard... need a Jess tutorial !!!!!!!!
AWESOME bag! AWESOME tutorial!!
Sooo cute - love the side detail al lot!
Love this thank you Jess! Would you be willing to do a tutorial on her Fanny pack as well?
❤ please please please do a video for her new round bag pattern 🙏🏾 it’s so cute but intimidating 😂
Love your tutorials Jess! You speak my language and I’m a massive Disney print hoarder. Any chance you will do the Denver backpack by Swoon?
Love it. Want to get the pattern!!
Really cute !
Absolutely love this! Toooo cute!!!
Great tutorial 👌
I always enjoy your tutorial.. thanks.
Thank you!
Could you please do a tutorial on properly cutting out a bag or tips? My pieces are never even. I'm failing at the cutting and interfacing.
Yes!!! I would like to see a video on that, too!!! Everything of Jess' comes out so even and straight! Thanks Rebecca for requesting!
I fail too!

How did you fuss the decovil light to your vinal?

Jess, do you fuse your fabric first and then cut out your pattern? I love your videos by the way!
Love the purple zipper! Where is that from?
Thanks for the video. Would you use the Decovil for garment leather that is really soft? I have no experience with vinyl so no way of comparing the two.
I don’t ever interface my leather but am kinda wondering the same thing
Great video and super cute bag! Went to grab the pattern, sadly can’t purchase unless you have paypal, which I don’t......Or something called rave.....
You can still use the PayPal option even if you don't have a PayPal account, many people use it without having an account with PayPal.
Winner Winner...what is the white fabric you used in the one with the side rivets and where did you get it? Love your channel. Barb
It’s from MyPunkbroidery but I can’t remember the name! If you email them they can tell you
Great tutorial! Was unable to buy pattern from website. Very disappointed 😞
She also has a shop with her patterns on Etsy 😊
Me encantan tus creaciones,me fascinan 👌👏👏
Very nice thank you
Hi Jess! Which way did you fold your zipper - to the exterior or the lining? Thank you again for a great tutorial 😊
I fold the seam towards the lining
Could have snipped up the middle of the seam allowance in that point to halve the bulk where the seam allowance overlapped.
Good tutorial
love the design and your bags i would like to try it i,m a newbie can you tell me the measurement please
You’ll need to purchase the pattern which will include the measurements.
Do you think it would be feasible to add a slip pocket on the back of the bag? If so how wide and high would you suggest?
Sure, a slip pocket will work on the back: 8"W 5"H will look good.
I like the way you box the bottom it differance
Did you iron the decovil to the exterior vinyl or glue? I never know...
I ironed it, just uses a piece of regular cotton woven fabric to cover the back of the decovil light first
Tried to purchase....the page to check out asks for billing info- then an email and password - hit "Pay with Pay Pal" 6 charges - no pattern or email?? No way to "sign up" creating password other than at check out.. Is there any "contact" info to address problem?? Thanks

I can't access it either. Tried 4 times
I guess it must have been because of traffic, it going now, you can check again.
