I was pruning yesterday and realized I loaned my loppers to my grandson. I will probably never see them again.....so I could sure use a new one. Already chased my neighbors chickens out of the garden and picked my first cucumber...and it’s raining. It’s a great day!

Thank you, Laura, for asking. My day has been going splendid. I had a bit of a rough past 2 weeks with my grandma passing away from cancer at age 94, so I thought going out and working in the garden would help with the healing process. I found that getting my hands dirty and adding some late summer color to the gardens really helped lighten my day. The hydrangeas blooming in my garden reminded me of the giant snowball hydrangeas that were at my grandmas house. Her kindness and generosity always gave me joy. In many ways, her personality reminds me of what you are doing on your RUclips channel. Your kindness and generosity has brought so many people in the plant community together. Thank you!

I’ve been watching Laura’s channel for a year and decided to start gardening. I’ve gotten so many compliments on my yard. Had a busy morning, watered all the multiple flower beds by hand. Then loaded up the plants I dug up a few days earlier and delivered them to a friend for her yard. Always a good feeling to share extra plants with others in need. Had two trees removed and now can see that lots more areas need pruning. It is a jungle this time of year. Love my yard, it is a work in progress as well as a labor of love. Your projects give me inspiration. Thank you so much.

I found you during lock down, and "we" eat lunch together every day. So far in my day my husband and I spent the morning helping to set up our 2 1/2 yr old grandson's big boy room. Like you, his mommy is having a baby in the fall. My day is going fine, a bit bittersweet. Just dropped our 19 year old off to school already and now back home after a 6 hour drive back. But seeing my garden lifted my spirits.
The 70 year old woman spent two days in the yard 9 hours one day with very little break trying to attack the weeds and overgrown trees. I did have to use the loppers in the next day my neck and shoulders were killing me. They are quite heavy. You and Erin are so fortunate to have sponsors who send you these amazing toys / tools. We are having an unusually hot summer for PA. I garden mornings and retreat to the house when the heat gets too much. Your videos have been so helpful.
Every time I hear the word “loppers,” I think of my parents who, for some reason, called them “loopers.” 😆 I also think of them any time I’m in my gardens. Dad was the veggie king, Mom the flower queen. I miss having their advice, but I still talk to them when I’m gardening.

Oh yes! I remember my grandparents when I garden! My grandpa was so excited to grow his few tomato plants. He would have us smell his REAL tomatoes because the store bought ones didn’t smell as good as his. Gramma loved her azaleas and rhododendrons. I live in the house where they lived. I think they’d be proud of how I take care of it.
