  • After getting 50+ comments about how to use Google Earth in various ways to find bass, I decided to make a video about my top 3 Google Earth tips for bass fisherman. In this video, I’ll show you how to find underwater images of your lake, how to transfer waypoints from Google Earth to your fish finders and bass fishing electronics, and how to find clear water during the spawn. Hope you enjoy!

J.S. You are, BY FAR, the best Ytube channel instruction. I am almost 50 years old and have fished for many years. I've learned more in the last 6 months than I EVER learned on my own. You, sir, are the standard that everyone else should aspire to! This particular video helped me SO MUCH! I am on a new lake in TX. Its a flooded forest, so it is TOUGH to navigate and hard to find fish. (except in obvious places that everyone else already knows) This allowed me to go back to when the lake was being built and track the creeks and road beds. Brilliant! I will be sending you a donation and ask that you take a look at this SMALL lake. Maybe you can help me break it down? This lake is sure to challenge your skills. Keep doing what you do! You are making a difference. ***** (5 stars)

Fish the Moment I’m having a lil bit of a problem. Once I convert the kml file to a gpx file using the kml2gpx converter and select the “download here” option my screen switches to the kml2gpx’s website showing a list of the converted files. However the converted file doesn’t show up in my downloads file. Any suggestions.

Great video! For those who use Garmin Homeport, you can transfer your waypoints (and TRACKS) from Google Earth PRO by saving your file as a KML and then importing it directly to Homeport. This eliminates the need to convert the file to GPX. To clarify, simply save your Google Earth File to your computer as a KML file, open Homeport, and import the KML file to your lake folder. One further note; if you are networking two Garmin units on your boat, be sure to convert your tracks to routes on homeport so that the data will transfer through your network. So easy!

For others who also use Garmin Base Camp, I want to share that I was able to save the Google file as KMZ (didn't need to save as KML) then import into Base Camp. In BC I saved the waypoints as a GPX file then saved that to my SD card. Helix recognized and uploaded the file.
