For us, or me, @ 66yo, still working, ugh, we want to stop at some point, but will always work outside. I rent (can't afford Michigan prices, errh), have one horse here, so always doing mowing, yard, fence or corral work, to keep it nice looking. Just can't put too much in to it, as cannot benefit from that.
That was a great days work these removal guys really knew their stuff make a tough job look easy 👌 now you can arrange your home as you want it one day at a time 💪👍

We have a big wood table that we bought in Illinois before we got married. It's Amish built 6 chairs, 2 are captain chairs and the table came with 2 leaves. It is really heavy but it went from Illinois to Florida 2 moves there and now in Missouri. When we moved from North Fort Myers to Alva we used 2 men and a truck. They barely even filled up the trucks and I don't know how many trips they made. I have a Sears Craftsman work bench with stainless steel top over a thick plywood and I laughed when they moved it, to the building. I can't say how many trips I made with my truck and ended up renting a U haul. I think 2 men and a truck were too expensive so we paid them and finished the rest. I'm glad these people worked out for you guys! I never want to move again!!
Go to Rural King and get around 10 bait boxes and a couple buckets of the bait blocks, and put them all around the outside. I do that with my business, residence, and down at the farm in Vienna, and it pretty much keeps them in check.

If you just need a little extra room replace that 1/2" drywall with 1/4" drywall or a piece of lauan stained to match the cabinets

Heard some bad stories about 2 men and a truck I'm from Boca straight across the state.
These folks were great, we had them referred by someone that actually used them. Sound like you got the run around but at least its done
