Kapper Outdoors 2.0 Excavation & Land Management
США
Добавлен 19 май 2021
About 6 years ago after hiring a lot of excavator work on our property I got to thinking that if I learned how to use my own mini excavator I could save thousands of dollars over the years, and maybe even have the thing start paying for itself once I become proficient. Join me on the adventures of the average Joe (former Marine, served in the Gulf war and retired law enforcement) who wanted to learn to use a mini excavator and other equipment for land management projects, property management, fixing roads, clearing trees, small ponds and watering holes, creating new food plots, land clearing, installing culvert pipes and much more. Now after around 1,000 total hours on mini excavators things are starting to expand for us. I hope that you'll join me to see just how useful a mini excavator can be on property and all of the things that you can accomplish with them. Thank you.

Missouri Ozarks LATE fall food plot updates-Was it worth it?
Is OCT 26th too late to plant a fall food plot for deer? What about NOV 2nd!? Well join me for today's episode for an up to the minute update of two of my very late planted fall food plots for deer from our Southern Missouri Ozarks hunting land and we'll see if all of the time, effort and seed cost was worth it! I planted one of these two on October 26th and the other on on November 2nd, 2024. I planted a mix of winter wheat, winter rye and fall oats, aka Bob oats. In one of the late planted cereal grain plots I mixed all 3 of the seeds tother and on the other one I separated the wheat, the rye and the oats. Lets take a look at how things look today and definitely stay tuned to the channe...

So many people asked this question when it came to our Southern Missouri Ozark's property land clearing projects. In today's land management/land clearing episode it will be a classic David vs. Goliath, my Bobcat e42 mini excavator vs a good size honey locust tree. So I got to thinking this might be the best way to visualize to viewers just WHY we didn't have a logger come in and cut all the de...

But being determined to succeed we went ahead with the discing of some new fall...

Good to see the plot is germinating well now that the soil is moist.
Could You Please Exsport Grass Cutter 54" to Bob cat, Escavator mini to Jakarta-Indonesia, I would like to buy two.
I’d get a mini dumpster
The new road is looking good!
Just rewards for all your efforts 💪👌
Yes sir, I am happy for the current and near future rewards on equity!! Cheers man thanks!
It's definitely worth the replant, plots looking like a salad bar. I run wheat, bob oats, austrian winter peas and turnips through the grain drill at the same time. Wheat on the left side and bob oats on right side then mix the peas and turnips in. Bob has always been slower to germinate for me but comes on strong.
Sounds like you've got a good program going on down there! I think this will pay off this year yet, but time will tell! Been crazy SLOW this last week!! Virtually NO deer movement at all! Good luck
It works out pretty good when we get the avg rainfall. Seems like the weather has been kicking all of us in the teeth this fall. You're plots will be covered up in deer in no time. Looking forward to those videos.
Good to see the leak is slowing down, hopefully it will plug itself all together. The plots should continue to green up quick after the rains.
Deer say let’s go over to Kapper’s smorgasbord and eat.
Bring it on! Especially the big boys!! :0
You just needed....some rain!
Yep! Amazing how I am not such an idiot as others have claimed!! Now that we have got rain!!! LOL
You made your own luck this year. It’s hard to believe that the food plots worked for you. Can’t wait to see what happens next year for you.
Yep I am hoping that for the several square miles around me that I was the only one that perservered with late plots! But I don't know what others are doing around me, but I am glad that I put in the extra time and effort for sure! Time will tell thanks man
Keep working and you’ll get there eventually
Roger that! It's a long run process but I'm enjoying the journey. Thanks
How long are your hunters going to stay to hunt? You have any more people coming to hunt after this group?
One guy has left, one guy staying til Friday, next guy starting Sunday. Been a tough go the first week for sure, but all of MO is 65% down on harvests so far.
Lots of pressure being an Outfitter that would probably worry and stress me more than it was worth. Most of the Outfitters I know have gotten out of the outfitting business and now simply lease their acres to hunters. That pretty much lets the hunters do whatever they think they need to do to be successful.
Nixa is a little town south of Springfield. I personally think a little south of nixa is prime for lower$ acreage. I've been around here my whole life. Branson surrounded has beautiful land too
Yeah MO is growing fast imo, but also based on the numbers. But if you get our farther away from major areas you can find land a little cheaper. It is a beautiful state but you'd have to appreciate it's ruggedness to want to live here. Thanks
Really good days work there 💪 you can buy clamp on grouser bars for rubber track machines might help your traction issues on steep slopes 🤔👍
Never seen that as far as the clamp ons. I was happy that I got this trail cut through though. It needs a second pass yet but who knows when I'll get back to it. But its all part of the journey :) Thanks Bob
Please Please PLEASE, post an email where I can contact you. I am heading down to the Kiamichi Mountains of Oklahoma about the 3rd week of December for a week of research, would love to finish up several days at your place, that new road looks like a great place to get back into. Thanks buddy.
What kind of research are you doing? You can email me at kapper@kapperoutdoors.com
It looks like most of your dozer work is done, unless you plan on a whole lot of road building. All a dozer is good for is pushing dirt, you can't pick it up and move it around. I don't think you'd use a dozer enough to justify the cost.
Good points. I still have a lot of clearing and road building to do probably next year, but I'll probably hire that out again.
Yep, prices are ridiculous on everything. Welcome to the world of bidenomics.
Yep. Crazy now but I think we're stuck with it permanently
Man, every time I watch you in the excavator, I want one. I've got the itch really bad. I hired some work to be done on my place for the first time. I'm excited to see what they can get done. My place is similar to yours. Near Hardy Arkansas
Awesome man, that's exactly how I started. I used to hire out all these projects. Then finally, I said, I want one!!
Great job you all
Alright, I heard you say DOZER! Now just come up with some of that famous (infamous) Kapper Kreative Financing and bring it home!!!!
Well, we'll see how a few other chess pieces play out here in the few months ahead!
Joe you had a day like mine. That was a long trip just to get there. If the weather forecast would have been good, get to top of hill and call Sharon for a ride.
Yeah, Roger, that I just don't like leaving the machines that far away from the house. Because critters will make new homes in them. Pretty quick, lol one day at a time, buddy, today's a new day.
Missing out on some good long form videos. Less whining more work.
When i'm in a lot of pain, I do tend to get cranky, I'll admit that. Just keeping it real though. Thanks
a nice skid steer with a two way blade would do you just fine.
10.4. That may just happen soon!
@@KapperOutdoors2.0 if you could find a case 250 they have great grade control and flot mode helps save the back.
That is a steep hill. Be safe Kapper.
Thanks, man.It is, I try to be careful and take my time.
Good progress on the new road and culvert installation.
Yes it was a good stint in the mini that day! Now for some fresh stone! Thanks have a good one
Nice tour of the food plots and watering holes which to me are amazing considering how dry the soil was when you were digging 💪💪👍
Yes sir I agree, wow what a change! But I was really sweating the big one in the woods, soooo glad it's holding!! That is going to be a hotspot for years to come :)
I NEED EVEN A USED TRACTOR FOR FARMING IN CAMEROON (AFRICA )
Awesome video dude has so much knowledge and he's giving it to this messed up world for free! Did not know you could blanch accorns pretty sweet
Glad you enjoyed! Yeah he has a lifetime of this kind of experience! Thank you
101
Two out of three ain't bad!
Yep, I'll take it, especially the big one in the woods!
Seems like the trees and roots needed to be removed from that dam in order to ensure success.
Yeah, I have removed those. I've been working on that big pond project for a number of weeks now.
Nice work kapper hope you guys opening morning of rifle was good 👍
Man opening day was a total bust because we had a full moon all night before.Hopefully today will be better
@KapperOutdoors2.0 I seen a few no big ones tho
Looking good Kapper. Nice to have 4 wheel drive in that gator on days your body hurts and getting out of house and don’t have to get out to move limbs. Believe me I know the feeling. I have new grass growing in white rock. Used my FS total kill in half of powered sprayer up before winter spraying drives from deck while driving zero turn. Just have to be super careful not to run over with tires lol. Don’t ask how I know hahahhahhaha. Happened several years ago. Put down last treatment to acre yard. Still some leafs waiting to fall. One year it had not snowed yet and pulverized them with zero turn in December. If I was the salesman you were I have the 48 sweeper and brand new in the box spare bag sold. I don’t have face book. Where do you post stuff you sell. I love to visit that new place Kapper, I Need a cell repeater or street signs or I get lost in ATV. 😂❤
Yeah, guys like us know what it's like. Just getting in and out of the Dang Machines can cause you pain, at least you're still trying to get outside.Man, you gotta keep up the good fight. Thanks man
Throw some bentonite clay in that pond. Should seal her up
I've tried that stuff with mixed results, but I think I'm going to work on it throughout the winter and then in the spring, I'll probably patch it the way I normally do by just cutting out the center of the dam and finding the leak and then patching it. That way, that has worked for me successfully in the past. Thanks
I know cedar roots don’t grow that far outward but that one looks to be pretty close to the leak spot on the snapper pond. Maybe? Check out my latest video on our CCF channel, I show a nice 2003 Missouri buck with a super wide spread I call Bullwinkle (at least by my standards). Be sure to leave a comment. Lol!
What's the name of the c c f channel? I'll definitely check it out thanks man
@ Crazy Cluckers Farm I’ve been putting something from my game cameras on there once a week but that’s about to slow down. Lol.
Join me for some fresh air.... you say.... while sitting in the climate controlled cab of a ranger..... Lol😂😂😂 Open air old 6x4 and 4x2 gators like mine are the way to go.... for fresh air! 😊
Every now and then I open the windows lol. Heck, I can even really feel sporty and take the doors off 🤪
How did the boys do today.
Man, it was a total bus that full moon really wrecked movement yesterday. We're going out today at midday for the afternoon
Looking good Kapper,
Thanks, man.Have a good weekend.What's left
Just wondering why you didn't just move those 2 limbs that had fallen across the trail instead of running over them for the next several years? Actually I know---you would rather hop over them--than move them!! lol
Don't worry. One day when i'm feeling a little energetic, I'll get out and move them lol
pond is looking good
Yep this really quick one was a good success! Thanks man
oIF04 05 same here brother thanks for your service
Thank you as well! Have a great weekend!
Great job cleaning up the yard, a lot of junk in there including carpet. Looks like the Bobcat lost a couple teeth again.
L o l yes, I found one of the teeth laying in the yard!!
Great days work there 💪👍 cannot believe how dry it is there that was like digging in a desert 🏜️ apart from the roots 😳👍
Yes, it sure was.Although now it's totally saturated, l o l
Love the excavator videos. If a tree gets in the way, you can just push it over and stuff it into the woods!
Me too I love doing that smiley face.Get off my lawn tree. You're in my way!!
Hey, youtube's got a new feature and you're one of the top contributors and commenters. So thanks, man! I gotta learn how to figure out if you get a special badge or something.
You did not just say you wish you had a dump truck. Stop. Friends don’t let friends buy another dump truck. You gotta avoid that kind of stress in your life again!
Good call buddy!!! Uggg but man, every project I have, I feel like I could use it!
Kapper if you ever give a subscriber hunt away pick me it's all looking good man
I'll sure keep it in mind, buddy. Thanks
I didn’t realize how much running a small excavator knocks a guy around. I can see why you are wishing for a hot tub soon!
Oh yes, it sure does man. That's why I can only do a couple three hours at a time. But I love working that machine
Another project that your own DOZER would have come in really handy. Decision time: Dozer or Hot Tub??? Dozer "Heads", Hot Tub "Tails". Let me know and I'll flip the coin for ya!!! If you cant decide we can go two out of three or three out of five....lol
Clarkster, Kapper needs a hot tub with powerful jets first. It helps him recover and keeps him going. I just flip one time, Heads I win, tails you loose. 😂 ❤
@ yes, ole Kapper’s body sure is in one Mell of a Hess..
Right on buddy, good call. And of course, we're pinching a lot more pennies now, so I can't be free and easy with the cash ola..
