I watched the previous video and noticed your buddy was turning too hard without lifting. The side load that put on the disc is incredible and it's not intended to be used that way.
Well... good observation! But here's what happened, as we sometimes do things for filming that are not normal or the best for equipment! I mentioned the same thing and he kept it down just because I was filming to keep the video clip going. So, it was only a one time deal, as otherwise we always lift when turning except for minor angles. But good catch!
Well this one is supposed to be a 'heavy duty' rig and it is made locally here in the Ozarks. But I guess you can only push equipment to far! lol. But if it keeps working awhile I'll get my money out of it!
When the ground is as dry and hard as yours is just now it would pay to take a couple of inches of cut of the discs , can see the discs are trying to steer the disc from side to side quite aggressively 🤔 take some of the cut of even if it means needing an extra pass, hope the repair holds 💪👍
Yeah I guess I need to experiment some more with it. At least for now I got what I think will be enough food plots to last through the fall, winter and spring! Thanks
I do lift when turning, I only leave it down on a 'mild' angle :) But we were probably too aggressive with it when it was super dry and hard! Lets hope it survives awhile at least so I can get my money's worth on it. But at least for now I've got ALL the new plots RE planted again and if they take off it will be enough tonnage to keep deer all winter and spring, so it will have been worth it! Thanks man have a good one! Hope you voted today!
I think two things… 1) the nut loosened and created wobble and 2) you need to pick up 3 pt implements when you turn…. You probably need 500 ft lbs or more on those nuts that hold the discs together
Well I do pick them up on turns. I will sometimes keep it down on a very mild angle though. I don't think the nut loosened though with that keep pin in tact..? And on that same topic, if the nut loosened on one axle that would not explain the other axle spacers breaking in the same way?

Looks like another Kapper fix that’s definitely “good enough for who it’s for”!!!
Well it seemed to work thus far!
Good fix, it should hold up better than the cast iron spacers.
We got all the rain we need now lol
lol for sure! Check out the pond update coming out today! unreal! And the rain would have been nice a month ago too, lol. But we're soaked now!
those dics are for after you plow when the ground is broke up some.. learned that years ago fixing the same issue.

They are cast-iron and do not like side loading like others have said. You have to lift the disc when turning.

Gotta hook it up right and you are turning to sharp with the disc down.
Seems like you've got it set too aggressive for the conditions to me.
That may be possible. But I'm thinking if I made it less aggressive it would take forver to get a plot worked up.. ?
