That looked like quite a rain storm there, almost as bad as ours! Hopefully a good layer of clay smeared along the bottom of the dam will do the trick to plug the leak.

Yeah its still at risk of blowing out the whole dam again, more rain tonight! And its too wet and soft for me to get on the dam to try to plug it! Yeesh!

I thought we were going to lose our dam, it was close. Reports of 18" outside Salem

I'm pretty sure this one might have ran over the dam today! More rain, and it has been staying full to the top even with this leak, so it is only a matter of time til it blows over the top and washes out the dam again!! uggghhh. But Hey, I got machines! LOL. Thanks

Good luck with the dam leak, mo gas a ton of rock if you don’t backfill and roll clay it’s prone to leak

yeah it's a shame its such a tiny leak. I checked it again today and the pond is still full to the brim so it will be awhile til it dries enough for me to patch it. But I'll get it done at some point and get this pond cleaned up as well. Looking forward to it.

Get some bentonite clay, it would be an easy fix for something that small.

Possibly, I've used it before with mixed results. I'm hoping I can patch it soon but the water level has not come down at all yet, its a small leak. Thanks

Mrs K… Joe could have done a much better job if he has a Dozer!!!

You have to use clay on the pond you put regular dirt on it.

I packed good clean clay in the washout. But I must not have had it sealed good enough, lol. I'll get back at it when it dries up some.

Too bad about your pond dam, I just hope you didn't have a lot of seed washout and gullies everywhere.

surprisingly not that much. There was enough seed that was germinate to hold off a lot of washouts. And with all the rock in the ground here it does not wash out nearly as easy as our last IL farm. So that's at least a little bonus with all the rock! :)
