This was a really great video, after this I definitely see a Konro in my future. As for the steaks, the best sear and steak I’ve had is just putting the grate over the chimney and cook it for about 90 seconds a side.
The Green Life is not only much cheaper, but also lighter and more practical. I would probably buy the Green Life, then dream about the Konro, which is infinitely cooler, and after a few months I would buy the Konro too so that I can have the choice every time I cook. But then my wife would yell at me until she tastes what comes out of these two grills and then she would shut up in awe 🙂.
The end result of the Konro really helps justify the cost 😂 I have both, and my family loves cooking with them! Now my spouse is the grill master and I just relax and enjoy eating.
Here is how we do it. Poke few holes in sweet potato. Wrap it with aluminum foil. Dump the whole thing in coals directly. Once it's cooked to your doneness, slice them lengthwise. Apply butter and put them on hottest part of grill.
Hi love the vids- could you make more videos on the green life ? How to use etc
We definitely can next year!
Fun research Mike and Naoto - please do many more!

very fun episode
You only had the vent open on the konro?
no, it was already open on the green-life
I wonder if the raised grates lowered the heat? Also the smaller ones may be great for camping
A little bit, yeah!
Which model of the Green Life is this?
This guy! knifewear.com/products/green-life-shichirin-konro-charcoal-bbq-grill-large
I would enjoy if Naoto was able to speak. Only heard from him at the beginning and end.
Way too much yakking and end results looked the same. Cut this down to 5 mins and stop talking so much!
