I find her really interesting too, but the last comments about her possibly transitioning if she'd been younger kind of throw me off. As a young transmasculine person, I don't like the implication that transmasculinity is a new replacement for butches. You can perform and identify masculinity and not be a man, or even nonbinary. Female masculinity is a thing. I also get told a lot that I could just be a really butch lesbian (even though I don't only like women) because of this idea that there's not a clear division between our communities. @@qwertyuiopqwertyuiop-bb4mi It's a subtle way of showing pride in asexuality. A black ring is something asexuals wear, normally on their middle finger, as a signal to remind them that they are not alone and that other asexuals exist.
Ugh, I love the fluidity of how people identify. I feel like at times, it gets wayyyyy too wordy, but how people with differing sexualities express themselves and live their lives true to their feelings is insanely beautiful. I've yet to figure out what my deal is after so many years of thinking I was only straight, so it's really liberating and educational to experience other's identities.

The lady in the suit is a really interesting person. I’d love to just hear her stories!
That last bit about being younger and maybe transitioning was really interesting.
Weird, cause for me, I didn't like her at all. She gives such a prideful vibe and I can't stand her.
@@Z5Z5Z5 Not that you’re wrong for having that impression (everyone can form their own opinions, of course), but I would kindly ask that you ponder on why you think that, because lesbians are often stereotyped as “arrogant” just for existing openly. None of us are immune to that bias. Ya know?
I find her really interesting too, but the last comments about her possibly transitioning if she'd been younger kind of throw me off. As a young transmasculine person, I don't like the implication that transmasculinity is a new replacement for butches. You can perform and identify masculinity and not be a man, or even nonbinary. Female masculinity is a thing. I also get told a lot that I could just be a really butch lesbian (even though I don't only like women) because of this idea that there's not a clear division between our communities. I'm personally of the belief that if she genuinely was trans, she'd be more interested in the topic and in transitioning (not necessarily medically to be clear, just in general.)

as a trans masc person, it makes me really happy to see the realization and understanding on the person's face who identifies as a lesbian and also more with masculinity when being told exactly what a straight trans man is. the comment about "if i were younger" made me tear up tho. i wish i could just tell them you deserve to exist however you feel is best for your well-being and comfort, and there is no "too late." it's nice to see ppl still open to learning new things about others.
right and they also were assuming that to be a trans man they'd need to have some sort of surgery on their body, but they absolutely do not
Certainly. I’m the trans guy from the video and that was such a moment for me to talk to someone who’s older and who has experienced similar doubts/conflicts about their assigned sex. I regret not being eloquent enough to express how I felt at the time, which was that you didn’t have to not like your body or be on hormones or want/get any surgeries to be trans.
