This is a brilliant, exciting performance, with Gilbert's interpretive touches and a glorious finale! He lets the orchestra get loud. This orchestra is really one of the finest in the world.
@@winrx No one is stopping the old ladies with the ear trumpet from attending the concert with Ravel's Bolero, Vivaldi's Four Seasons and John William's Star War Suite for the 125th time rather than listening to something that cognitively overwhelms them.
Probably, unnecessary body wave motions deprives the depth of the music. I love the conductors have charisma and can invite players into mesmerizing to the music.
@@libelle176 Just simply compare this one with the Brahms No. 1 recording conducted by maestro Wand about 40 years ago on RCA label. The same piece and the same orchestra, but one can easily find huge difference between the two.
Sorry, I can't help but notice what appear to be crossed-eyes in the conductor... which I find very distracting. I guess if you work with the man you'd get accustomed to it but at first experience I find it unsettling.

Thank you - much appreciated! ☺️
That was a GREAT performance of "Beethoven's Tenth!" Looking forward to the rest of the program!
Awesome! Let us know, if you enjoyed it!
Each conductor gives his own touch to the works he presents. Here the conductor Alan Gilbert performs EXCELLENT ...
FANTASTIC!!!!!!!
Alan Gilbert does it right !
The audiences must be thrilled at the “innovative” programming that Gilbert has brought to the table.....
Of course, another boring Beethoven cycle would be more thrilling...LOL!
Bizarre. This is a back-to-front programme.
What? What the fuck are you saying?
Perhaps it allows the more “conservative” audience members to leave during intermission......?

Not exciting at all!! What happened to this great orchestra, which was once led by maestro Gunter Wand?

Nonsense,dude.
If you are looking for more excitement than this, you should probably consider another website to fulfill your needs.
They play better than ever. This is what happens..!
