When the boat's a heaving, Kelly needs to come topside. Cheers.

Hey Chris try getting Kelly on the helm when she's wanting to feed the fish, works wonders. Kelly, you'll be fine.
    That dinner looked fantastic!

Yes, that does help! Unfortunately, when Chris is off the helm… similar things tend to happen lol

Next time you you start feeling sea sick, get up where you can see outside and focus on the horizon. The sea sickness is caused by your brain receiving conflicting information. When below deck, your ears are telling you you are moving, and your eyes that you are not. Getting to a position where you can watch the movement of the boat (by focusing on the horizon) allows your senses to get in sync with each other and helps reduce the nausea.
As for it being “pretty hairy “, wait till you get out on the ocean!
Have fun crossing the bar. Your next big adventure!

Yeah, we have a pretty good log of videos in the bank at the moment so you won’t see things changing for a while lol

In my late 20s I went through a period where I got seasick a lot. I tried everything anyone suggested. What helped was buying a bunch of Dramamine. I used that about 3 times and then forgot to use it and I did not get sick. I think the problem was I got sick one time and after that I was anticipating it. I do not want to say I never get sick anymore, but I do not fear it anymore. And when I do now, I just pop a Dramamine and endure it. It is confused seas that get me. Normal chop is ok. Wait till you get offshore, the west coast is quite choppy up here till late June.
    Good luck

I just ran across your channel a few days ago. So I went back and Binged watched your refit. I thought that you splashed way to soon. But I don't know why you did splashed befor all was done on the Boat. Maybe your Lease ran out on the house.
I know ya'll are New at this. And you are going to the school of Hard knocks. But when you Anchor out you may want to put a Snubber on your boat. It will help from doing any damage to your bow or windlass. And when under way you want to tie off your Anchor so it want run out on you While underway, and you lose all your Anchor and chain.
And never untie from the boat or fock until the Dingy motor is running. That way if there is something wrong with the motor, you don't have to Row back.
Ooo! And you need to have Oars and lifejackets on the dingy.
Now there is a product called P.R.I.D Out there for you diesel fuel. It is an Additive that keeps your fuel Stable and well keep the Black suit off your boat and it will Increase your fuel Is mileage. Saves a bunch of money on fuel.
My first trip to Avalon from San Diego. I used 278 gallons. After using the P.R.I.D for the same trip i used 89 gallons. And the back of my boat didn't have all that black suit on the back of my boat.
    So I hope this helps.
    So until next time.
Aloha from the Big Island of Hawaii!
P.S. Everyone gets sea sick one time or another. So hang in there.

That's for the tips. The dinghy has oars tucked in there, and we made a bridle in our latest episode.
