Not sure why you both ware headphones all the time? Hard to hear if there is a problem with headphones on?

It’s to protect our ears from the engine noise and also to listen to audiobooks/music/podcasts to pass the time. These ones are pretty fancy, they have a noise canceling feature you can turn on and off so we are still able to hear each other if necessary 😉
