So cool. I live in Erie, PA and I enjoy watching your video's. I am a Cb'er studying for my ticket. I will be getting the 7300. Thanks for all the great content.
Thanks! I keep checking the weather and looking for the first sub-zero day. I'm very curious to see how long both myself and the equipment can operate in extreme cold. Because besides all of the really good reasons, why not?!
Enjoyed watching this. Thank You for going outside in we like that. Glad to see and your son activating together. Great Memories for sure. I will be listening as a POTA chaser/ hunter for your next activation 73 de AB8AS
Thanks Alan. We actually had a lot of fun - the cold weather adds a bit of excitement to the mix for us. We look forward to the next POTA activation as well and hopefully we can connect again. 73 de AC3DS
I live right down the road from you in Meadville. I activated Maurice K. Goddard State Park on Winter Field day. I was actually out on the ice in a shelter doing some ice fishing so it was a two for one. Had a great time.
That is awesome. After falling through the ice a few years ago, I've been a bit (understatement) timid about getting back out on it. Good for you in pulling double the fun and capturing a great park for Field Day. Just getting outside and enjoying the outdoors and our hobby is well worth enduring a bit of cold. I hope you are enjoying these summer months while we have them! 73 - AC3DS
Keep cranking. With the temperatures continuing to drop, next week I could be doing a POTA from an iceberg. Or would that be a DXpedition? Stay warm, and thanks for writing!
I just activated there on the way back to NY from Hamvention. I'm not sure which beach it was, but we had beautiful weather. The bands weren't good, but the view made up for it. 73, N2MAK
This post was from a month ago, so I'm thinking the lake ice had just melted. :) We love PISP and are glad that it is getting activated and enjoyed by others. Thanks for sharing! AC3DS
Bummed I didn’t make the video 😢... not every day you get to hear your own signal. This is a good channel and I’ll be suggesting it to my other ham buds to get you some more subs... good luck being a RUclips phenomenon.
Thanks Ray! We'll have to remedy my mistake for the next POTA and get you into the recordings. Thanks for the encouragement and spreading the word. My goal is just to help out and give back a bit to the wonderful people in this hobby. If you have any suggestions on worthwhile topics, I'm happy to oblige. Take care. de AC3DS
@@transmittinguntilrobotsrep1045 I’ll be looking for you. I now have a better antenna setup so hunting is far easier. As for the other vids, I can’t seem to learn enough, and I enjoy doing it.
@@W3OY-RAY One of the beautiful parts of this hobby is that there is always more to learn, and from your QRZ page it looks like you have been really diving in. 0 to Extra in 5 months is a significant undertaking - congratulations!
Love the scenery and the music. These will be great memories for you and your son.
Indeed. He is currently studying for his license, so hopefully we'll have many more radio memories to come soon.
That had to be a fun but cold day! 😁

Another great job out in the cold. It's better watching you from down south lol!

Nicely done video! And thanks for the activation, but I feel guilty working you while toasty warm :) 73 de N4IAG
No need to feel guilt, there is plenty of cold to go around!
