- The Cutscenes are out of order in the Game. Here is the Cutscenes in order as told in the book, The 7th Guest: A Novel by Matthew J. Costello. Cropped the black borders with only a small loss of quality.

Thanks for making this. The game doesn’t really give you direction for the story, it happens as you play so things usually happen out of order
The soup attacking the lady, the girl turning into a baby, and the dolls creeped me out so much as a kid.
The hands pressing out from the painting did it for me.
This was so exciting when it was released.
I loved to spend so many hours playing this game... I was sure that the last puzzle was playing chess with that mad man... But no... That surprised me. So creepy game. Thank you
That growl at 15:31 always freaked me out, especially given the corridor beyond is completely dark and you don't know what is down there. Given you learn the house is actually alive it makes it even scarier
There are a couple of scenes here missing, there is a bathroom scene where the tarty one [ sadly the actress playing her died in 2007 ] is bathing and goes under the water and you can hear her scream from within the plughole, as if to tell you that she drowned in the bathtub [ the Knights Puzzle is on the floor ]and one in a science lab as well I think with the Magician [ the Infection puzzle didn't appear in the iOS version ]. Used to enjoy playing this game, despite its terrible acting and some of the puzzles being difficult for me [ Spiders, Knights and Bishops puzzles ]. Used to love it when Stauf got angry at the player for solving the puzzles. Wish they would remaster this for Playstation like a lot of old retro point and click games from the 90's have [ Full Throttle, Monkey Island [ non telltale ], Day of the Tentacle and Grim Fandango ], we also owned its sequel, The 11th Hour but didn't know how to play that.
I had those scenes recorded as well from my Walkthrough, but I chose not to add most of the scenes that are just illusions. Because my goal was to put them in the correct order as much as possible. Leaving out illusion cutscenes for the most part to avoid any confusion. There is a remastered version but it's not a very good one. It's called the 25th Anniversary Edition but it's a cash grab. If only I could have the FMV Video files from the CDI version I would be happy to upscale them since that version has better rendering. Video files from the PC version have blocky artifacts. @@AndyJakeGaming Thanks for the response, had a feeling those were "ego/tads" false memories perhaps. Thanks for sharing this bit of gaming history with us though.
Really, the spiders? I always thought that was supposed to be the 1st or 2nd puzzle you do. But yes, the knight puzzle, the bishops, and the microscope are the only puzzles I believe I never beat legitimately. Though the maze [shudders] that was the worst part of the game for me.
@@bubblegumxo Yes the maze was a pain, however there is in fact a solution to it in the Bishop room. There is a rug on the floor and the ghost lady says something about it before she disappears. The rug shows the correct path out of the maze and into the next puzzle with the coffins.
@@jane1975 I posted about it in some other videos, but I was like 8 years old, and it scared the crap out of me because of the music 😂. I eventually beat it through guessing, and tried to beat it on subsequent play throughs. But I didn't know where you're supposed to start on the rug (looking at it now, it's pretty easy to figure out because you have to go straight so many times at first.) But basically l would just write the directions instead of drawing the map or screenshotting it (again I was young playing on a windows 98) and once I realized I did the wrong directions a couple times, I basically gave up experimenting, and ever trying to beat another playthrough, since I had the open house save anyway😂. My computer was also in the darkest loneliest spot of our house, and god the maze single handedly made me scared of walking in the dark as a kid 😂.
Had this on the Phillips Cd-i. Good times.
Did anyone else notice a skull appearing on the face of the first person that arrived.
Of course, it would be cool if it appears on everyone's face
funny thing is that she's the only one without an onscreen death. Well, and Mrs Knox only got turned into a mannequin but I still think it counts. But what about Ms Burdon. Or was her transformation in the crypt, that was explained as an illusion, her death scene?
I almost played it when it first came out, but I remember I had to solve the “get the damn game to start” puzzle! (error 02 sound buffer failure). But Robert Hirschbeck became an icon there. I’ve bested Stauf in T7G, 13D, 11H, and recently in T7GVR (different Stauf actor, but he brought the creepy in its own way.
I really wish the music wasn’t so loud. It’s difficult to hear the actors.
You don’t blast shrill MIDI music to unwind at the end of a long day?
The actor who does Stauf’s voice is obviously trying to sound like Vincent Price.
So weird that both this and Myst had videos displayed on book pages. I guess it was a way to avoid having full screen video?
The 7th Guest has no videos on book pages. All of it was full screen. The width is 16:9 with the height being close, but it's stuck in a 4:3 display and is why it's small in the middle of the screen.
@@AndyJakeGaming The opening sequence is videos on book pages. And thank you for making this very helpful supercut!
Originally there was suposed to be more to the ending... like for example... thers a line where Tad says "Take my hand", in the script.
The horror! The horror of terrible sound-mixing! What insidious secrets are being hidden by the overwhelming MIDI music?!
Well this was the early days of voice acting in video games. The music tracks seem to play at the same or similar audio levels throughout the game.
I wish they made the voices a bit louder.
Or the music a little quieter.
I'll take both.
I've got to find the novelisation somewhere!
Is it possible to get the scene of Tad coming in thru the window on the PC or iOS version? I remember it from playing on the CDi but couldn't couldn't make it happen on other systems and friends who only played this on a PC had no idea where Tad came from because they also missed that scene. Is it like the meeting in the library and only available later in the game?
This was recorded on the PC version. After you see the cutscene of the meeting in the library go to the kitchen and you will see the cutscene.
6:39 That dude looks like Loki
13:49 iconic lol
Back for more
Also watching in preparation for tomorrow's VR remake? 😜
You should have included the illusions, this is incomplete.
Wasn’t there a scene where Brian survived his stabbing but died when his wounds reopened in his room?
Yes when he finds a suitcase full of money he thinks he's gotten away with.
4:30 Stauf didn’t start producing his toys in Wuhan, did he?
what about dutton returning to his room after he's stabbed?
All scenes was recorded. However some scenes that would cause confusion was not added. This video is meant to show the story in proper order.
@@AndyJakeGaming i get that, don't think it would have caused confusion though. Would have shown finality in his fate. Thanks for this though it was fun rewatchimg
