I was 12 when this came out, and I watched the VHS that it came with every single day while I was trying to learn enough about computers to make it work. My parents had no clue, and I finally figured it out after weeks of learning and experimenting. This game was the seed that started my career as a software engineer and I'll forever be grateful to Trilobyte, Rob Landeros and Graeme Devine.
Wow this must be expensive on CDI... even the consoles are expensive. Congrats though! I recently finished it too... my 7 year old self couldn’t figure out most of the puzzles, haha
I remember the cd-i game and was 8 years old, nearly understand the language English back then , because I lived in Belgium and then I discovered it to play music on the cd-i too. Wonderful music, horror music and when I got older I ripped it on mp3 on my computer 😍☺️ childhood memories 🥰
I was the coolest kid in the room back then because I shoveled snow, helped old ladies carry groceries, cut lawns like a madman, and took on every single odd job I could because I wanted this game, and CD ROM was the only option!! Oh man, good, good times!
This is awesome! I still have all the original box and CD's of the game and book! It was the coolest game in those days! Other games I loved was "Phantasmagoria" and "Timelapse". Who remembers those?? I would love to be ale to play these games again on new computers today somehow!!
I've immediately fallen in love with the one starting at 15:54 when I played it for the first time at the age of 14. 25 years later I'm getting goosebumps listening to it. Amazing soundtrack. Even more, if you consider the contemporary ingame music back then.
If you have the 7th Guest on CDi, there should be a bonus disc (or there was on the edition I got), entitled 'The Music', containing the soundtrack composed by The Fat Man & Team Fat. This track, if memory serves, is called ''Skeletons in my Closet' and appeared as the last track, track 7, on the soundtrack disc. I believe the track was just for the game, the 7th Guest.
@@wholesometruth7585 ok thanks yes I have the CD, and then we watch a special making of the game that was uploaded from a VHS included with the original PC version I think. They talked more about the music. I found the fat man on Bandcamp.
Wasn't a sexual awakening for me lmao. I was like 6 or 7 watching my brother and cousins play this and had no idea why the lady was making those sounds, and my brother told me she was enjoying a Pepsi 🤣 I believed that for years
Only those who spent a week configing their computer to run their CD-ROM drive, install, and run the game will fully appreciate this soundtrack.
This is the game that got me to buy a CD-ROM drive!
😆😆😆😆😆😆😆 so true 😆😆😆😆😆😆😆
This and myst.
How very very true...
Ems error hahaha

What did the VHS have on it?
@@marvndave the making of. There are a few uploads on RUclips of it.
Guess I'll be listening to this forever
Awesome to be able to listen to this soundtrack, decades after its release.
Great classic game with a great soundtrack!!! So much fun to play over 25 years ago!
i used to put the CDROM into my portable CD player and listen to this when i was like 9 lol.
"Shy gypsy slyly spryly tryst by my crypt". Engrained just as much as the konami code.
I spend hours trying to make a sentence that made sens on this enigma.
Nobody in the world that solved that bastard puzzle will ever forget it.

@@mithrilsk 9:25-10:36 was my favourite song from playing it as a kid. It has always stuck in my head and I think of it weirdly often.
As a kid, this game terrified me. Listening to the soundtrack today still invokes that fright I felt lol.
Loved this game. Good times.. Sound track really good., What thats sound.
There is no possible way 😂 of how I use to play this game endlessly sure miss it
Came with our 486. Blew my tiny mind
Great game…great soundtrack… 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
one of my fav game ! the skeleton song is the best
Awesome soundtrack...
20:35 the classic intro.
Beat the game, but skipped the microscope puzzle. Too darn difficult! :)
We hated that puzzle. It seemed easier on the Apple version than Windows.
It's because on faster PC's it gets harder as the PC has more time to make decisions.

What's the last song? Was that made just for this or from a bigger group in the day?

13:23 If you played this game as a kid, this song represents a sexual awakening... :)
Please, explain? like, not in a rude way, just, wondering?
@@TerraHardcorethere was a certain cutscene... and a sound after clicking a bed when the cutscene ended
@@jgge777 LMAO THAT SCENE, yea I kept joking that they should have just shown raw when playing

Back in the day - unable to play because my PC sucked
Nowadays - unable to play because my PC is too modern
Late response, but Steam sells it now :) you should be able to play it.
What's wrong with that A?
Whatevs
too bad, it was only for windows 95
It wasn't. I had it for Mac as soon as it was published.

It’s now available for iPhone!!! Highly recommend. It was satisfying to finally beat this game
And Philips CD-i :D that's what I have it on
