    Great video, Ben!
    I would differ slightly by getting the Custom Cash, Premier, and the AAdvantage Platinum Select, then downgrade to the Double Cash in the 2nd year. If I were to apply for any card, might as well get a sign up bonus with it. Since Citi is so flexible when it comes to product changes, American Airlines is also one of my go-to airlines, and being in New York, JFK & LGA are AA hubs.

    • @TheCreditShifu
      @TheCreditShifu  3 года назад +3

      Yeah that's a good call, since Citi allows you to product change across different series of cards, so you could get something that gets you a bonus and then downgrade to double cash

      @@landocalrisian2014 its getting ridiculous that youtube is allowing these spambots to come through and try to scam people watching these channels in the comments section. Unfortunately, people reading the comments may send vital info to them spammers and get their identity and possibly money stolen, and ruined credit. I have spoken with a few of my favorite youtube people I watch and for some reason, they cannot seem to get rid of spammers. Somehow, youtube allows these spammers to create these fake accounts using names similar or identical to the person putting the content out there.

    Citi trifecta is only for local purchases (electronics and appliances for 2 yr extended warranty) to be used for thank you points for transfer partners, never to be used for airfare purchases as Citi remove trip delay benefits and trip cancellation benefits

      Citibank had a card a long time ago called the Citi Dividend card that paid 5% back on gas and groceries (all the time - not just for a particular quarter) and 1% on everything else. One catch was that there was a $50 redemption threshold - a bit higher than the $25 one that is more the norm today. Sadly the all the time 5% on gas and groceries did not last and the card became a rotating category card with often narrow categories that more often then not were not useful to me. I've heard some people still have this card - although you cannot apply for or product change to it anymore.

  • @noobulon4334

    The double cash is an old favorite, but its not unique anymore. The custom cash looks great but none of the "premium" cards seem really worth it. I'd rather just take the custom cash and leave the rest on the table.

  • @seanc6699
    @seanc6699 3 года назад

    Is it even worth converting to points if they're only offering 1 cent per point? Also by taking cash back you can get cash back on your cash back (when you send it again). Understand it would be worth it for chase because they offer 1.5 cents per point.
    Also, would you consider replacing the premier with the Citi Costco card? Just seems to be better and no annual fee (assuming you already pay for a costco membership)
