      @@TheCreditShifu I dont! Years ago I was getting any random card, no real goal in it until I learned about cash back possibilities. Thats when I decided to make my 5% cash back setup on almost everything. I then take that money and put it into my HYSA and make even more money. My sock drawer is full of old cards now.

      @@tsmatmap Great setup, was wondering what was your roadmap in getting the multiple Custom Cashes and Cash+'s? Did you apply back when Citi allowed multiple cards, or did you product change? And how long did you wait between each one?

      @@luci_lol Ive read that Citi is still allowing multiple cards. I had a Double Cash card and a Citi Custom Cash, then product changed from the DC to the CCC. I dont remember how long in between though, Im sorry. My 3rd CCC is under my wife's name and Im an authorized user.

    Pretty similar to my setup! I have 2 cash+ cards and I'm about to get my second custom cash, I also paired those with a rewards+ to give it 10% more value. I also have the Chase and Discover rotating category cards so if they cover a category then the custom cashes can be reconfigured as needed like for a yearly gym membership.

    This setup is very “niche” with all of those store-branded cards. I wonder if this person could be a good fit for the U.S. Bank Shoppers card if they’re loyal to all of those stores. The Kroger card is indeed a sleeper with that mobile wallet category. Also, no Chase Ink Cash card?

    I have an authorized user on my Citi custom cash do they get their own 5% or is it shared since is the same account????

      That 5% Cash Back will only be credited to you as the Primary Card Owner, but it will help build their credit profile and help build your cash back stash.

    If he looks at his category spend that US Cash Plus card would be better than him using that Best buy card or the Lowe's card especially if he spreads out the 2k of spend

    Of the store cards features, I have them for Target, Walmart, PayPal, and Amazon. I have the AmEx BCP for groceries and streaming and gas. I don't drive a lot so I'm fine with the 3%, however I currently have Walmart Plus, so I also get 10 cents/gallon discount on gas at Sams Club and Murphy Express. I do have the Citi Custom Cash for Restaurants and Double Cash as "everything else". I'm considering getting the Citi Rewards Plus for the TYP round-up for small purchases and 10% bonus when redeeming TYP.

      A good sock drawer card is the us bank cash plus 5% on two different categories im using it for my cox internet bill and the other caterogy I've chosen is furniture stores need a new couch soon.

      Bcp I have it it's great but have you considered getting the freedom flex that 5x grocery offer is incredible especially because it'll stack with the rotating caterogies.

      @@Spencerwalker21our internet provider has taken away the auto pay discount if you use a credit card so the 5% not helpful anymore since the auto pay discount is $10!

      The Bank of America Cash Rewards card give 3% on upto $2500 every quarter for online shopping. Anything you purchase online (even flights and travel) counts.
      It get's bumped to 4.5% or 5.25% if you have at least $50k or $100k invested at Merrill Edge.

    I am from india.. i have sbi cashback card flat 5% cashback on all online payments… purchase giftcard from 3rd party and saving average around 8-10% almost all categories

      Double cash, premier and AA Aadvantage
      I keep at least 3 months of gap.

      It's great but just the first year bonus it goes back to 5% but still good card but I prefer the freedom flex more useful points easier to rack them up and you get a sign up bonus.

      US Bank Altitude Reserve gets 4.5% cash back when paying with mobile wallet and then redeeming earned points via Real-Time Mobile Rewards on travel purchases.

      When you call up and ask if you can convert a card into another type of card. With citi you can go from any card to any card,

      If you have a credit card, sometimes the bank will let you change it to a different credit card within the same bank, keeping the account history and usually the card number. By doing that you can get a card with a reward structure that better suits your needs without having to apply for a new card.
      I changed my Wells Fargo Active Cash to an Autograph.
      My Capital One Platinum was changed to a Quicksilver and later changed again to a SavorOne.

      For example, if you have a Citi Double Cash card you can call Citi and ask them to do a product change to the Citi Custom Cash card. Now you have the Custom Cash card and no longer have the Double Cash card. No hard hit to your credit because you are already their customer.

      When in double, a double cash at the minimum. Maybe 5% on mobile pay with kroger and then some kind of jewelry card. Alternatively, double cash with 15 mo 0%apr and investing the money in a 12 month CD and 6 month CD (leave some in 6mo tho pay the min payments) would be best

    I guess that person doesn't do online purchases outside of those expensive stores like Amazon, Lowes, Target, Home Depot and Best Buy. If you want to buy on ebay or any other website, the Paypal credit card doesn't offer 5%. It's 3%.

      Don't get cash back cards if you think you will carry a balance. There are cards with lower interest rates for that.

      @@neighner2392 I usually apply for a new card 6 months apart. First I look for 12+ months 0% APR, then Sign Up Bonus, and lastly Categories. Always want to have 1 or 2 cards with 0% APR "just in case" a need to cover a big expense arises & cannot payoff in full every month.

    Why not just make it easier and get a 0% APR card for nearly 2 years. Then dump all the money that you would normally spend paying it off each month into a high interest CD

      5% rate has not been that prevalent until this year even then most online banks are still ~4.5%

      5.5% CD rates or more is attainable fairly easily now, also 5-year annuities are up to 6.45%@@harrisonchan2699

      You forgot you need to pay taxes on interest earned from t bills or savings. Credit card cash back is tax-free.

    Absolutely the Amazon visa is a no brainer, but the Prime membership is a total smooth brainer. Take 3% for free.

      If you have prime anyway, which gets you free delivery on most things, then you dont pay any extra for the card

      Nothing gives 10%.... And if they do it's not equal to 10c/$1. Or you need to use it for travel.
