You can pause it by pressing in on the big knob. Add what you want and press the knob again to start where you left off on the timer. You can also just add/ subtract minutes to the timer while it's running.
I love my Ninja Foodi. I have had it for over a year. I don't have the dehydrate function, but everything else. I don't do much toasting either, but I air fry. I batch cooked sweet potatoes in it. I have baked oatmeal in a 9 inch square pan. I have roasted beets, carrots, garlic, and other veggies. I have really enjoyed it. It is especially great in the summer for helping to keep the kitchen cool.
Really enjoy being apart of your RUclips community. Great recipes, helpful information and wonderful counsel towards health and healing. Thank you both.
I purchased this lovely Ninja for my Motor Home. Limited kitchen counter in that rig’s kitchen and it doesn’t have an oven so this was a perfect choice I just love it.
Absolutely dear. It a wonderful piece of kitchen equipment. When you truly have a small or tiny kitchen. My Moterhome is lovely to drive and I made an excellent bed in the Back because after a long days drive I knew I wanted to be comfortable. I got those two true benefits Having a very small bathroom is still a bathroom when you need one and the kitchen counter can work a little so everything is a bit of a compromise. So when I saw this Style my first thought was This was made for me Lord and all of us with no Counter Space to speak of. It provides an answer to my kitchen that didn’t have an oven. Thank You Ninja
I have had this for several months and love it! I use the silicone mats (cut to fit) that tami showed in another video for really easy cleanup! the top and front glass door do get HOT tho, be careful and use handle to open.
Hi - I'm making thick potato chips - just slicing smaller yukon gold potatoes 3/8 to 1/2 inch wide, season with some garlic powder and smoked paprika, and air frying 15 minutes at 400. Pleased with the results. It also worked great for me for toasting bagels. Baked a batch of veggie burgers ... turned the pan half way through. Making some notes on temps and cooking times. The space saving flip up feature and price were the selling points for me.
Great video! Thanks so much for the review. I bought this last year (recommended by Krocks in the Kitchen) and I LOVE it. Easy to clean with the bottom "door"
I have had a Breville oven for years and yesterday it died on me so I had to decide on a new oven. I live in a hot environment so I don't use my oven as I live in a small apartment. I also did not want to spend the same money as I did on the Breville as I am trying to save for retirement. I bought this Ninja Foodi this morning for $200 rather than spend the $350+ on the Breville again with my fingers crossed. I eat what looks to be similar to what you eat so I am hoping this will work for me. Thanks for the review!
We are using both now, during meal prep time Tom and I both want to air-fry something at the same time :-). We do adjust the time down a bit on air-fry mode in the Ninja as the food is closer to the heating elements. The top "air fry" rack does not have as much space above it for food (large potatoes) as the Breville so we just cut in half to fit. The space saving flip up feature in a small kitchen is very cool. Happy cooking, Tami
Please do a further review of the Ninja with some of the other features. I have a Ninja and really like it but I haven't baked muffins or cookies so would greatly appreciate a more in-depth review. Thank you for this type of video.
@@NutmegNotebook sometimes I watch your shows as well as other vegan shows. I've been vegan for almost 23 years, and almost 2 years avoiding all oils. Thank you for your great work!
Whatever your preference is, but why do you pre-bake your potatoes? I air fry the potatoes for 15-20 minutes then add frozen meat (chicken or beef) asparagus and corn. Season well ……..cook for 10-15 more……..delicious!! Love my Ifood..
I remember in the Breville review you mentioned the top of the unit gets really hot, and it’s recommended to leave 4” space around it when in use. Does the Ninja get hot like that, or is it more insulated? I’d also like to see more recipe reviews using the Ninja. I’m in the process of comparing the Breville to the Ninja as I have a Mealthy-like unit for the Instant Pot, and even for one, it’s not a large enough capacity. Thank you so much for doing this.
The burgers in the video were a test recipe for someone’s cookbook that they asked me to test. Here is a link to one of our favorites www.nutmegnotebook.com/posts/smokey-black-bean-burgers/
Would love to see how you clean your breville. Nothing I use seems to work. The splotches from the front door just smear more :( Also is there a way to remove anything stuck to the heating elements (bottom of oven).
It runs until the air fryer cools down and then turns off. That information is also in the provided literature. After fryer is finished cooling you will see “FLIP” on the control panel
@@bobbiek984 Hi Bobbie it seems like my oven takes forever to turn off the fan so I want to know the average time it would turn off. Can you tell me on average how long will turn off
I jist found your page. I am also WFPB… and curious if you felt this product would be good for the lifestyle? I saw that you had cooked cut up potatoes but I haven’t seen if it possible to cook a whole potato regular or sweet? Have you tried this? I can’t afford the Brevall but I am looking at Ninja and the Corasi 12:1.
The model 101 is not tall enough to do whole potatoes, you have to cut them in half, the model 301 is taller and has more room. It still flips up to save counter space when not in use. I am unfamiliar with the Corasi model
the interior width is just slightly over 13 inches so only if there are no handles, and 13" outside dimension on the pan. Perhaps look at our Breville video if you want to do a lot of baking. Go to amazon.com/shop/nutmegnotebook and watch the amazon live video at the bottom of the page on the Breville smart oven (happens to be on sale at the time of this comment)
If they are really big sweet potatoes and you want to air fry them you might have to cut them into wedges instead of halves. Medium and small sweet potatoes 🍠 cut in half fit, but not big ones.
We follow a plant exclusive diet so we have no experience with that, the lower tray for roasting should work. the air fry tray above would be too close to the top of the unit.
You can pause it by pressing in on the big knob. Add what you want and press the knob again to start where you left off on the timer. You can also just add/ subtract minutes to the timer while it's running.

My daughter says hers makes a very loud noise. Does yours
Air fryers do make noise because they have a fan that moves the hot air but in our opinion it’s not overly loud.
Thanks I'm very interested in purchasing this for Christmas, can you tell me if you can use a sear plate to it like other Ninja items?
I don't know anything about a sear plate - sorry.
I have a ninja foodie and I really like it. It takes longer to cook things in the ninja I think.
Thank you for those tips!
Whenever I use the grease catcher, there is such a loud vibration. Does anyone else get this?
Hi, Thank you for the video. Want to know how easy or difficult cleaning this Oven/Air fryer? ( Ninja model SP 101) TIA.
Well I don’t use oil and I don’t cook anything with fat so the clean up is easy with hot soapy water.
Can I cook a frozen meal for my mom with this? There an oven too, right?
Gracias 🙏

Is there a silicone liner for the air fryer
I haven’t seen one.

Is it supposed to be so NOISY?! It sounds like the fan is trying to jump out of the oven?! 🤣
Air fryers make noise because they have a powerful fan moving the hot air.

Thank you for the reaview. Where did you get your glove? I have had hot fingers since my oven mit is too fat.
Electric cord where is it which side how long?
It comes from the right side of the back and is 2 1/2 feet long and there are cord clips across the back of it to route it in either direction.
This machine seem perfect for me since I'm alone. Does the company have a European distributor???
Thank you and regards from France

Can you use the lower rack slot for the airfryer function or only the top slot?
No, the wire mesh tray only fits on top, however you could put a smaller tray on the lower rack and still use the air fry setting.
It says in the manual that you’re supposed to use the sheet pan when air frying
I would have as well instead of letting grease drip to the bottom.
Greetings. Someone mentioned in the comments that you recommended some silicone mats. Will you provide the link, please? Thank you.
Does this get hot underneath? I'm worried about the high heat damaging my countertop. Thanks.
Not really. We've cooked big potatoes for 45 min and it doesn't get hot like our previous AF.
I have been using it for a couple months with no problems.
I have a question on the Breville, how do bypass the preheat function?
You don’t bypass it but I just put my food in, shut the door and turn it on. The food is inside while it’s preheating. Does that make sense?
Oh ok got it!
Great!
We bought the same countertop oven. Question, how long does it take for the fan to turn off after use?
I don’t know, I have never paid attention to how long the fan runs after cooking.
It runs until the air fryer cools down and then turns off. That information is also in the provided literature.

do you ever put your cooked potatoes in the waffle maker like Chef AJ?
I have but I do prefer them air fried.
That burger looks nasty no offense. Would you recommend using parchment paper on the crumb tray
@@905barazza When you feel compelled to type “no offense” it’s obvious you are being offensive!
Can I put tin foil under the air fry basket? Will it still air fry the food the way it should?
Air frying needs air flow from below and above, foil will block this. So I do not think it will work the same.
Mine has hot spots.
Thank you for sharing that.
Will a 9x13 casserole pan fit on the rack??
the interior width is just slightly over 13 inches so only if there are no handles, and 13" outside dimension on the pan. Perhaps look at our Breville video if you want to do a lot of baking. It won't you need 9×12.5 or 9×12
I just ordered one. Now I’m worried it may be too shallow. Is it deep enough for thick sweet potatoes?
If they are really big sweet potatoes and you want to air fry them you might have to cut them into wedges instead of halves. Medium and small sweet potatoes 🍠 cut in half fit, but not big ones.

What rack do you put a cake on?
You only have 1 rack option for anything other than air frying. The bottom rack.
Can you demonstrate how to bake a cake? I love mine but wish a 2 layer cake could be done. I have never baked any cake in mine.
can you fit four large chicken breasts on the bone? I like this product but am concerned it is too shallow.
