There's a little coffee truck in the park in Funchal that overlooks the harbour and Ronaldo museum. The coffee is excellent, but the homemade lemonade is outstanding. 👍
Loved your food on a budget €20 in Funchal. My wife and I love Madeira, we have been visiting it since 9/11……so quite a few years. We have thought about moving to Madeira and it is still on going. We have just come back to the uk from a trip to Thailand. We are going to Sicily in May, Gran Canaria in September and of course to Madeira for Christmas.
wow yeah, you must have seen some change! Thailand is fantastic, plenty of videos from Thailand on my other channel Joe Parrilla, it is one of my big loves.
I stayed in an apartment across from Cafe Bela for one month last year. There's an excellent buffet style restaurant on the ground floor of that building that I recommend. Very affordable as it caters to the students at the nearby high school.
It's interesting to see Joey choose milho cozido (less known to tourists) instead of milho frito (more popular in restaurants). Milho frito is a reuse of milho cozido. I also like milho cozido in winter, in cold days.
My sisters and I just returned from Madeira. I wish I had seen your videos while I was there as we would have enjoyed the tuna and milho cozida. Our heritage is from Santa Cruz and we enjoy everything from Madeira. I’m anxious to return to enjoy all your food observations.
Madeira is great, i love the picturesque little streets in Funchal🤗and the goodies are mouth watering, all food looks awesome ! Very beautiful tour Joe🌞Thanks, good challenge with 20 E 👍
Hi, loved seeing the coffee place again( we visited based on a previous video you did about coffee a couple of years ago) Also went to the little balery on the street with the painted doors after a walking tour on recommendation. We loved getting coffee and pastal de nato a couple of times a day plus the garlic bread and passionfruit fizzy drink. Im desperate to rerurn 😣😀😀
Love your videos, we watch them all the time. There is one restaurant we went to quite alot on our last holiday, it's called Apauza, it is next door to where you got the beer fromIt's nothing posh or fancy, but the food is delicious and the staff were lovely. Could you possibly squeeze it in on your next foodie video. Thank you so much
Hi, I love watching your passion for food! We are going on our 2nd cruise and will be visiting Madeira ❤ Please could you recommend some little places to visit for food/drink near the port? Thanks in advance x
I have living and working in diferente countries, and traveled as well including Middle East. Portuguese food, bread and pastry for me is the best in the world. 💝🇵🇹💝
I got for €1 each cappuccino ☕️ and latte ☕️ inside the shopping center in Funchal at Plaza Madeira. It was medium size 😊. That's why Madeirans are fit, because are not over loaded with greasy breakfast haha 😅
I was surprised by how much cheaper tea and coffee is in Madeira than the UKI It’s way cheaper than Costa! I could have done with your help ordering a latte 2 weeks ago, lol! I didn’t get one but an equally nice coffee instead lol.
About milho... milho quente is the first stage. If you let ot cold it will turn in milho frio that we cut in cubes and eat like that with fish or in açorda, guisado even cozido (normally at home. I only know one restaurant that serves you milho frio if you ask for it...). And then, if you fry the milho frio, you will have milho frito... By the way, Chave d'Ouro used to be a madeiran breakfast place many years ago (they used to do breakfast and lunch)... then they get really bad, start selling bad food to clients, closed and open again...
Maia is one of my favourite coffee places when I'm in Funchal. I've been so often that I have three of their t-shirts. I was there two weeks ago and will be returning in mid September for a month.
I felt like the doors were kind of okay..nothing for a special trip. And I don’t mean that disparagingly, but only thinking the restaurants were absolutely the draw.
Hahaha we take breakfast and we go to some places to eat breakfast (not young people because it's not trendy)... but I will not say where because I don't waht tourists spoilling the place sorry... oh and pão com chouriço is lanche nor breakfast and empanada is not portuguese... it's venezuelan (if you see it in cafés you know it's from venezuelans)
Great video Joe. I just sent you a message through Instagram but hit the send button prematurely. When time maybe reply and I’ll finish what was going to be a suggestion for a future video. Cheers

You should do a guide on where to find the best poncha on Madeira! :D My favourite is probably Tasca do Avo in Camacha!
haha good idea, you might see it one day :)
It's interesting to see Joey choose milho cozido (less known to tourists) instead of milho frito (more popular in restaurants). Milho frito is a reuse of milho cozido. I also like milho cozido in winter, in cold days.

Bread with chorizo ( pão com chorizo) is all over Portugal, not just In Madeira.💝
Milho in that way ; I used to eat as a child in northern Portugal 🇵🇹🥰 delicious.

what area did you start the video in ( coffee bar )? Looked nice
It is Maia coffee- all the links in the description
I tried almost all places from your video and I still need last thing. Steak I'll leave it on last day. But EUR4 beer is the best.
Haha yeah! That beer place is a great find! I hope you enjoy the steak
21.37 a great place. 👍

yeah that is true, trying to find good quality tea and coffee is more of a challenge, but they are starting to pop up now
Madeira looks really my vibe
You would love it mate! hope to see you here one day
Enjoyable and educational... so do tell, what's your favorite beer in Funchal? Local or imported?
If I am honest, imported, but I Coral Puro Malte is drinkable. Coral standard is a bit watery for me.
excellent city😊
it is a stunner!
You need to try the restaurante called bica it’s next to mercado and I’m sure you gunna enjoy only locals go there
Yes I know it, just haven’t filmed there yet - I will though, don’t worry

I hope you find all the content helpful :)
I’ve eaten in Old Town many times and have never had a bad meal.
I am glad to hear that
Oh...and a beer.
Hahaha you got that one right
Theres a limit to how much poncha you can drink. 😂@@TheJoeyP
Just got back from there. Never spent more than £20 per person for a main meal.
Haha crazy good value isn’t it
Bolo do caco should do it. 😂
Not that one this time
