    This is really by far the best method I know of to create Tiaras as well. I really don't like the hot-glue designs - they're pretty to begin with, but close up they look very messy & discolouration is assured after a while. I like to use crystals & /or Glass Pearls, & sometimes I'll add a few strategically placed gemstone beads if the design calls for it or they match the prom/bridesmaids' gowns - & although these add to the total weight (& cost!) compared to acrylic beads, they really do sparkle. I've done very fine designs (Like sections of the Lover's Knot) using silver or gold-lined Miyuki Hex Cuts which really sparkle, makes for a lighter Tiara, and there's a great colour range to be had when using glass seed beads - plus they're very economical by comparison. Using a combination of seed beads & Crystals or Pearls you can create fine arches with pretty picots, bows, or points & can add downward facing loops at the top of the arches for hanging briolettes or teardrops - like in the Lover's Knot - & then I create earrings to match using the same drop beads : ) I guess there's literally no limit to one's imagination as to what can be achieved with this method! Thanks so much for sharing your talents with us ❤

      Thank you for your comment. It's a few years since I created this video but I'm glad it's still being found useful. I also preferred the use of glass and crystal beads for making them. The finished pieces were nicely weighted and less likely to deteriorate over time. Thank you 😊 again.

    I love this! Does the wire get caught in your hair?

    • @ArtySanCrafts
      @ArtySanCrafts  3 года назад +1

      Hi. Thank you. I tried to keep the exposed wire to a minimum tucking away ends so they couldn't be felt to avoid catching. Using continuous lengths of wire where possible. Thanks again

    How exactly does this fit on the head?

    • @ArtySanCrafts
      @ArtySanCrafts  8 лет назад +1

      +Jamie Williams Hi Jamie - the blank bands I have used are solid but they flex enough to fit and hold themselves on the head. For extra secure fitting hair grips / pins could be used but they do hold independently. TFW :)

      I'm 7 years late to 'the party' but I can vouch for this basic headband base, which I've also been using for about 15 years. My designs are very different from these, but I still use the headbands to create Tiaras for weddings & proms..I had a ton of orders for KCIII's Coronation! The wire headband holds the design perfectly - it sits on the head very nicely & grips well, but with some designs a full circle is necessary - especially when a bride wants a specific type of veil, so I'll wire the full circle onto the band before I begin beading on the base row. Metal hair-combs can also be wired in at the start (they're a pain to work with after, though!), but I sometimes finish the wiring at both ends of the headband in loops, (same as for traditional Tiaras) so that the wearer can add hair-pins for extra security. But usually the metal headband has quite enough strength to stay put : )
      I hope that info is of assistance to anyone else who wants to know : )

    Could you use wires instead of a tiara headband?

      Rainy _12 hi. I can't see any reason why not as long as it was strong enough for the band you wanted to make. TFW
