Wow. You have so much potential. I own a jewelry business and watching what you can do with just glue and wrapped wire is amazing. I suggest spending a few bucks and getting yourself a electric furnace to melt some silver scrap, a rolling mill and a pull plate and learn to silver solder jewelry and you can bring this to a whole new level. I'd hire you if you were Canadian, on the spot if you walked in with this and some of the other costume piece's you've made. Your attention to detail amazing and you're very meticulous. It wouldn't take much to make you an actual jeweler. I can only imagine the work you can come up with. Wow, where were you 6 years ago when my 2 year old Niece asked me to make her a crown for Christmas. It turned out, that's about all I can say. This is gorgeous and I loved Princess Di. Kudos! 😍👍
You did an incredible job of recreating this Tara. For those who don't know the original was created to carry either the Pearl drops as worn by Catherine Princess of Wales, or with Emerald pear shaped drops. FYI: according to Julie Montagu, Viscountess Hinchingbrooke the majority of tiaras have a band of fabric, usually velvet that closely matches the hair colour of the wearer, sewn to the base band of the tiara. This makes it more comfortable to the person wearing the tiara as most tiaras are weighty, hence uncomfortable to wear. In previous days of those who were wealthy enough to wear magnificent tiaras, they wear sewn into the hair of the wearer. No mention of how they are fixed in place in modern times. This tiara was claimed to be uncomfortable for Diana to wear and would cause headaches. I am wondering if she was ever knew or was told about how to correctly wear the tiara. Remembering she wore the Spenser Tiara on her wedding day. If Diana wasn't being fully supported as many accounts her life married to Charles indicates, it's possible she may not have been wearing it with the fabric band sewn to the base wire. This is only speculation on my part as there is nothing to indicate how Diana wore the Tiara. She didn't have her mother to fall back on for advice and it would only be speculation if her sisters ever advised her, Lady Jane and Lady Spencer. Annie Goldsmith wrote Not all lineages are created equal. While one might expect Prince Charles to be the ultimate in royal breeding, others are even better born. For one, his late wife. Princess Diana’s family, the house of Spencer, is a long-lasting British dynasty, reaching back to the 16th century. The Windsors, on the other hand, are of German descent, having adopted their current name only in 1917. Which is to say, Charles married up.
