      Yea these really help out if your wireless doesn't have a great signal. Using home wireing as a grid, I wouldn't have thunk it.

    Well done! I thought mine is was broken but as it turns out if you reset the router settings you have to do this process again. Thank you for this walkthrough!

    I have the AV200. They are great. Here's an example. Wireless speed is 22-25mpbs with claimed 60mbps. When using these in any outlet I get a solid 66mpbs.

    Would you recommend it?
    What speed do you get when the router is directly connected to your PC?
    Thanks

      Victor Sandoval ***** Indeed, how's speedtest.net on your laptop directly wired to your modem-router? Or could you copy a file via network (e.g. Windows Share) to another PC?

    Before pluging this device (straight from the router to my PC) I had 220mb/s. After pluging this (I moved the router to the living room, so the PC is connected to the device) I have just 60mb/s. Is this normal??

    Two questions - I have an Alienware desktop and I like your AW laptop with lighted keyboard. What model is that? Also, will the powerline work if I plug it into a multi-plug power adaptor or do you have to plug it into the wall plug?

    • @2victor2
      @2victor2  10 лет назад

      My laptop is m17x r4. You should have it plugged directly to the outlet for best performance. If you have it on a power strip you probably have high latency & horrid speeds. Due to the circuitry in the strip.

    Useless test when you're testing internet connnection. It is like testing furmula 1 car in the city with the limit 60km/h.

    How old is your house? I hear these don't do as well with older houses and older wiring. My house isn't ancient by any means, but it's far from brand new. My only worry when it comes to these is that, since my house is fairly old, they may not work very well.

    Excuse me, are you stil keeping that product? I wonder if you test with speedtest at night already (6PM-10PM), the speed is still constant or decreased? Thanks

    • @2victor2
      @2victor2  8 лет назад

      It's consistent. As long as your isp doesn't have any degradation in service, you'll still get reliable connections.

    • @huy3148
      @huy3148 8 лет назад

      Thank you for your fascinating responses. I've got TL-PA2010 KIT, it works perfectly at day, but at night it downgrades sharply (around 3-4Mb/s as my ISP speed 20Mb/s). when using ethernet cable, I got full speed. I don't know it's due to the old model AV200 of my adapter or electrical noise. Really embarrassing.

  • @bryansoon5555
    @bryansoon5555 9 лет назад

    Hey may I ask smth? Must the first connection ( the one you plugged in to the router ) be always plugged in using an ether cable? Or can the first device be used at other places?

    • @2victor2
      @2victor2  9 лет назад +1

      Bryan Soon has to be connected to the router at all times. since it's the ''host device''

      Victor Sandoval Hey man one last question, am i able to use AV200 TP-WPA281(my current one) and AV500 TP-PA4030(i intend to get this one) tgt as an extension network? Or it has to be of the same model?

    • @2victor2
      @2victor2  9 лет назад

      You can use any powerline device with any brand as well.

    I have a 100mbps internet and with wifi on speedtest it shows that i have 30mbps(its really slow with wifi) if i connect though powerline how mutch internet you think that i will use? my distance is 4 meters from the modem.
    PS: If im standing just near the modem with cable i have 90mbps.

    • @2victor2
      @2victor2  10 лет назад

      There is allot of variables with wifi usually it's a hit or miss. If you live in a house this should work perfectly, you'll be getting about the same speeds and latency as being "hardwired"

    • @WantedLab

      Marco Sartori Yes it did :)
      I bought a Powerline TP-Link nano startup kit at my internet speed never goes down like it did with wireless and the speed is awesome!

    whats your ping difference vs this when your connected directly to the modem?

    • @2victor2
      @2victor2  9 лет назад

      it's barely noticeable. it depends on your homes wiring.

    Victor, I'm having an issue with the AV500 nano (I think they both work like each other ) when I first bought it and use it , it worked compeletly fine and the connection speed was almost the same when I'm near the router , but now I'm having a lot of troubles .the download speed near the routero is about 14 to 16 mbps , on the other hand the connection from the tp link adapter is 1 mbps !!Could you please help me .

      Have you unplugged them and re paired them? Checked for updates using the tplink update tool?

      +Victor Sandoval , Actually I did and it didn't work ;( . I also tried resetting them and there is no change . Do you recon 110/220V have an effect on the adapters?

    • @2victor2
      @2victor2  8 лет назад

      +meshary RD I use them on 220 can't speak for 110. So far no issues here. However I did see on their page they offer a full refund if for whatever reason you are unsatisfied with the device. I've talked to their technical support before nice people. Give them a ring. Toll Free:

    • @2victor2
      @2victor2  10 лет назад

      At the point of filming it was 25 Mbps my ISP sends more Mbps, it's their ''power boost' ' that's why you see 32.56 Mbps.

    your upload speed though

    • @2victor2
      @2victor2  10 лет назад

      It's really only ment for wall outlets. If you connect it to a power strip you'll probably have signal degradation.

    • @ryzelux493
      @ryzelux493 10 лет назад

      but will you get your full download speed like if its in an extension? i also have a wifi booster but i get full bar but slow download speed even though im on 30mbps download speed and 2mbps upload

    • @2victor2
      @2victor2  10 лет назад

      Yea you have 300meters until the signal gets weaker. That be one long extention. At that point it basically turns your extention into a long ethernet.

    So do you have to have Internet for these to work?

    • @antistraightmen
      @antistraightmen 10 лет назад

      yes

    • @mattym129
      @mattym129 10 лет назад

      Not at all. Think of it as a normal ethernet cable, but in the middle it runs over your household wiring. It's no different to running a cable between the two devices. You could connect two PCs from 1995 together and play Doom over LAN if you wished.

    • @antistraightmen
      @antistraightmen 10 лет назад

      But if you wanted it to improve internet then you have to have internet as the source

    • @mattym129
      @mattym129 10 лет назад

      The improvement in internet connection speed is a product of the improvement in network connection speed. These are not 'internet boosters', they are an alternative to other network technologies such as WiFi or running a big ass ethernet cable up the stairs. Please don't expect to exceed your internet connection speed with these.
