I’d love to see a video on changing the conveyor belt.

Andy thanks for this review. I’m looking to buy a drum sander and this is helping me make my decision on which manufacturer and what size/ features I want. Small shop space so the trip hazard mentioned is a bummer but I need ez change on the paper which this one has. Thank you

I am looking at the 37". Do you think this SuperMax is durable enough for live edge slabs 2" to 3" thick. Thank you so much for you review, it was very helpful

Good review, I want a dual drum or wide belt sander for guitar making. I like this model but it seems really big for my shop.

Any chance you can open the switch cover and post a picture of the wiring. We bought one and the switch wasn't working right. Laguna tools was awesome and sent a replacement switch box the same day but the wiring diagram in the manual is for an older box & doesn't match ours. We wired it like the one we took off, but it's popping the breaker. Laguna is closed until Monday and we're working a project this weekend (or hoping to).

How hard was it to parallel the drums to the table ? I am planning to purchase this machine. Anything that bugs you about it now?

All I can say is that it must be nice to be able to drop almost $3000 on a new tool like this. I think something like that would be good for a daily production shop ( were labor expenses would justify the cost) but for a one time project or for it to be used sporadically, much to expensive.

Depends. Sometimes, a quality tool makes those sporadic moments much more enjoyable.

Admittedly it's expensive (but not as much as you imply) but the time-saving can be substantial. I sanded, with a power hand sander, a varnished seat from my little rowboat. It took hours. This year with my new drum sander I sanded a much larger seat from the boat in 15 minutes -- and a better job to boot and less dust too. That's worth quite a lot to me. I can now see tasks that I hadn't even considered before that will be quick and easy (esp. my wife's endgrain cutting board). If one doesn't have the space and/or can't afford it (and there was day when I couldn't) I understand -- otherwise it would be wise to consider one.

You sound like you voted for Hillary. Democrats are usually whining about someone who seems to have more money than they do.

Then don't buy one. In fact why even bother writing such garbage?
