You didn't mention the levelling lever, is it up or down for wider panels? I can't see it clearly in the video. Good job though!

For anyone that don't know supermax is the best drum sanders money can buy I prefer the dual drum with the closed end just because over time it will sag and the finish can't compete the older ones we're called shoppro 25hd or x2 for the double drum they also have a 37x2 but they are around $7k

If you know how to sand you can to sand by hand & orbital sander better than any drum sander. Drum sander is overpriced simple machine.

Nice machine. I have a King 16" but if you go too fast (feed speed), the belt slips. That auto feature seems real nice!

Perfect timing Gilbert. I have been looking into getting one. I'd love to know how vicious you can go with them, using some really coarse paper , like a 24 grit say..... for cleaning up reclaim wood , which seams to toast my planer blades far to quickly...
Just so i can get rid of the top layer of old paint and probably some dirt etc ... nasty stuff , before i look toward the thicknesser. If you ever happen to try out some really coarse stuff, I'd love to see a video please :) .

The coarsest grit I used do far is 60 grit. I would assume that with 24 grit it would work pretty good for what you want to do. The only thing it white pine gums up the paper right away.

Thanx for review... I'm looking at purchasing one of these this week coming up... just wondering ... If you had to start over, would you get the 25-50 or are you totally ok with the 19-38?

I’m happy with the 19/38. If I build a wide table top , I glue them up in 2 sections, thickness sand them, and then glue up the 2 section together using dominos every 10 inches. Sure with the wider belt sander I could glue up the table top in one shot and then thickness sand but then your dealing with a really wide piece and you will need a helper. Furthermore when you glue all in one piece, you will likely get a lager bow thus having to remove more material. Hope this helps

Thx Gilbert… i’ll stick with the 19-38… thinking of getting it at Federated or Atlas… have to ship to Sudbury or Timmins…

I have a Jet drum sander and in need of parts. Jet has discontinued some of the parts and I’m trying to figure out if Supermax parts are interchangeable. Can you please measure the overall length of the driven roller for me so I can measure mine and see if it’s the same length?

Have you checked to see if the table is parallel with the sanding head ?

220 is the highest I could find, no 320. but 220 is good enough for a drum sander anyway.

Thank you for posting a very informative video on the sander. I have been looking to get one I have not made up my mind yet. How long have you had your sander? Also the stand that you have does the Machine feel tipsy when using it on large heavy projects?

Had it for 9 months I think. I really like it and it's not tipsy at all.

@@frenchriversprings I just purchased 25-50 supermax. I have only tried it on some smaller projects.
