You prolly dont care but if you guys are stoned like me atm then you can watch pretty much all of the new series on InstaFlixxer. Have been watching with my girlfriend for the last few days :)
Awesome I can't wait!! I remember what you said to me I think last year or year before!! I asked you what it took to be a professional and you said well you must love fishing!! Hope you have a successful ice season if I don't see you!! Tight lines!!
Look up Cascade lake Perch ;) The reason that they are so small in most places is Forage and People! People around these parts dont know enough to put the big ones back and they need a good forage base in order to grow to the same size of the redfin but the do have the ability to!
i just don't get why people put the ducer all the way down to the bottom of the ice, if you understand how the ducer works with gain, you just need to put it down 6-10 inchs down the hole(no matter the thickness of the ice, unless its late ice and the ice is honeycombed)
I've got a sonar that looks like a flashlight it is designed to shoot through the ice. I use it a lot for late ice fishing as you need a little water on top of the ice or use a small bucket of water sitting on bare ice. Between that and my chart plotter app on my smart phone I get to the structure I'm looking for and then mark out the edge of the drop off or hole with the sonar so when I break out the auger it guides me. Often the perch are moving along the drop off and 20 feet in either direction is going to make all the difference.

Are you using the 36” medium dead meat stick here?
Yes I use the 36 inch a lot when I am fishing outside.
Is that the new Dead Meat rod you were using Jason? It looks to have a more gradual taper than the Meatstick.
Just saw the segment on this exact rod later in the episode...ironic.
Yes I was using the new Dead Meat, Cory was using a custom rod.
Why are Yellowperch so small, they are beauties, but not so big like the Redfinperch!

Same reason a moose is so much bigger than a Sitka deer.
