    I don’t get it, you just drill holes around the basin and hope? Maybe that’s why I suck up there. I like to concentrate on structure. How long do you give each hole? If you aren’t finding them in a certain area do you move 20 ft or 2 miles?

    • @codyking9271
      @codyking9271 6 лет назад

      you move to where the fish are. also remember that 5ft up or down can make more of a difference than 5ft left of right at times. and the idea is to "stay on the school" once you locate and identify your target fish and what they are feeding on.

    I think someone needs to start a campaign among all Ice Fishermen(women, kids too) to stop kneeling on the ice when fishing. It's really a know different a repetitive future health hazard than shooting guns without hearing protection. For "Pete's Sake" Ice Fishing People around the World, save your good knee's while you got them, padded knee bibs or not. Just the un-proper repetitive motion of getting up and down will eventually or might cause you knee problem's in the future.

    • @InDepthOutdoorsTV
      @InDepthOutdoorsTV  6 лет назад +4

      Joe Shock you can't be serious.

    • @drtdbbt2588
      @drtdbbt2588 6 лет назад

      Why not??? Was the Outdoor Market on shows serious about making viewer's aware of wearing hearing protection when shooting??? I'm 50 and never ice fished that way since I had milk dripping from my mouth when I started ice fishing, plus back then you rarely ever seen any other person kneeling all the time when they fished. If anybody has a concern for their knee's down the road, you should either fish standing or sitting down on something. The old metal and plastic pails(also marketed and sold by Ice Fishing Manufacture's) weren't good just for containment of a product!!!
      I don't know why that doesn't make so much sense to some people??? I'm not suggesting putting a damper on sale's of your ice fishing suit sponsor. The padded knee's are great for when needed, just not all the time. Granted the type of work I did for over 25 years, I have a hell of time getting up if I have to go to my knee's for anything ice fishing at my age. My knee's aren't bad though, it's because I'm too fat and was in a work accident(back problems), lol.
      I can see anglers kneeling ice fishing, just not all the time. So one can argue the point(s) or take into consideration how often a person ice fishes in a given season that it wouldn't have no major impact on there knee's. But if one take's and is on few day ice fishing excursion where they're kneeling let's say 6-12 hours a day, then it could catch up with them down road and I could see them having knee issue's for that reason. No different from forming Tendinitis in your joints/muscles from the same repetitive motion(s), which can lead to more serious joint/muscle/bone issue's down the line.

      I see where he is coming from as a mechanic I use a gardening pad whenever I need to kneel or set the lift. For ice fishing I kneel uncomfortably more than Id like, but when you have good snow and you initially take the right kneel, the padded snow conforms to your comfort and makes it a whole lot better.

    • @drtdbbt2588
      @drtdbbt2588 6 лет назад +1

      Lol, guess thru my long-wind comments my point(s) got blurred. All I'm saying is as much as I see video's, show's or someone who kneels while Ice Fishing, that I'm surprised those who do don't develop problems down the road. I'd think knee issue's would be more common if you ice fish a lot and kneel, then again it only take's one strain to Pull a Hemi!!! Same as I compared kneeling ice fishing to shooting firearms. It only take's a few loud close decibels to your Ear Drums to cause hearing loss. If you workout and lift weights, don't you want to use proper form to prevent injuries?
      Pat, I didn't put any claim to your ice suit sponsor. Any padded knee ice suit bibs/pants is a nice feature as is kneeling on a seat cushion. Knee pads, seat cushions, etc..may help prevent some knee issue's, but it still isn't going to prevent repetitive motion(s) to your knee area if that make's sense to you?

      @drtdbbt2588 6 лет назад

      Lol, understood Pat!! Let me know when you get around retirement age how those knee's are holding out, lol.

    the farmers fertilizer run off making the green scum on the bottom of this lake it is only going to get worst in the future if the farmers practice run offs in the fields.
