20 years old and Linkin Park's Hybrid Theory is still one of the most relevant albums out there. The demo content is amazing, this song still smashes most of the new releases of other bands out the water.
When I was younger, I went through a real rough patch music was one of the real things that kept me grounded and helped me to coalesce my thoughts and feelings to words and actions, Linkin Park as a result of being a band who I listened to, as a 16 year old and resonated with hugely, are a massive part of why I am here today. Hybrid Theory was one of the most seminal pieces of art in my life that helped dictate who I became. Earlier this year when the COVID pandemic and the impact of not seeing family or friends in months couple with a shitty job was literally killing me I fired up my Spotify and threw the album on again and the clarity of vision and purpose it gave me, the way it made me reconnect with myself because I was pushing myself away for months helped massively once more to ground me and coalesce my thoughts and feelings in to words and actions.
There will never be a time in my life I think where Linkin Park and their music will not be important to me, and I love that whilst some of the seminal bands in my life have remained the same, Linkin Park constantly evolved and grew... As written in When they Come For Me:

Everybody wants the next thing to be just like the first
Over the last 20 years you guys (the band) have inspired me, grounded me, restored me and ultimately, given me reasons to keep moving forwards, to evolve, to change. Can't thank you enough for that.
Glad to hear, man! Never give in!! LP was part of my childhood. Getting lost in their lyrics and melodies helped me a lot. For me my soft spot was for Meteora (being the first album i bought), but love Hybrid Theory too. Now I'm 31, and still listen to LP. As some leaving words.....I've stood and stared down into the abyss. Never been at a lower point in my life. But after walking away from the edge I promised myself never to return to that point! Please....always remember. It's better to have opportunities than to never have them again!

I had a friend put music on my MP3 player for me back in High School and this was one of the songs. Years later, this song popped up in my head but I couldnt remember the lyrics or the name of the song. Eventually I forgot about it untill my first time listening to the 20th anniversary record and as soon as I heard, "I have a dream", I was beyond stoked that I got to hear this song again.

You are extremely wrong if you think Chester was not an integral part of LP that let them reach the heights they managed to reach. Of course, Mike is the creative fuel behind LP, alongside with Brad, and everyone else who puts in their two cents to make something great.

I listened to this track in an obsessive way around 2004 - 2006 and all the words kick in as the song starts. I swear I could sing along this track unintentionally. Can't love it enough.

A visionary musician, he always created excellent pieces, mixes of electronics with rap and rock, in his newest hits he did not have much acceptance and his songs are excellent, always ahead, nowadays electronic music is very popular, a pioneer without a doubt.

I remember it was either 2001 or 2002 when I heard this song( random sites that even had xero demos from before). Listened to the hybrid theory EP from that. Now I just bought the 20th anniversaries of hybrid theory and meteora. Saw they were missing a lot of the extra songs like this one. Had to buy a import Japan of lpu greatest hits that has this and QWERTY. Good times being a early fan. I dropped off after mtm but still was a fan. Rip Chester.
