Please, guys, if you ever restart Linkin Park (and I know you will), please, please, make an album that sounds like this. There's a bunch of songs from this era that work (or could work) without Chester. This is a prime example of it. Mike can rap, he can sing, the rest of the band is great at backup vocals. Doesn't even have to be a full album, can be an EP, or a few songs, we really want to hear more of THIS.

Definitely in my top 5 fav rock bands of all-time... Hybrid Theory, Meterora, Minutes To Midnight, and The Hunting Party are some of my favorite metal records...

This could've easily been one of the main tracks in Hybrid Theory.
Sadly this one wasn't enough good for the band back then. This one was also reworked again for Meteora, but, again, it wasn't included in the final tracklist. You can hear the Meteora version in the LPU11 CD, dubbed "Soundtrack".
@@DennisRadaelli I remember that one, it has a similar rhythm but it's a completely different song. So Far Away is much darker, has full lyrics and a defined structure. Soundtrack sounds pretty emo to be honest.
@@rockboy360 that's because So Far Away is the first/original version. Soundtrack was a sort of upgrade of the song: same drum beat, same chorus riff, etc. It would he great to see a full vocal version in a possible Meteora box set someday

When diving into demos from Linkin Park, it shows a new world of musical production that was left behind but recovered. It’s kinda sucks how this stuff was never properly released

I think this is my favorite demo they’ve ever put out. It’s so vastly different from what they did with HT and Meteora. For example, if you look at the tab, Brad is doing some really interesting things with the riffs and the octaves. And of course you have Mike singing lead vocals which was unprecedented at the time.

This track is not new to me, I first heard it back 2011 if I'm not mistaken, on one of their LPU EPs and I fell in love with it instantly. I guess this is one of the earliest Hybrid Theory/Linkin Park tracks on which we can hear Mike singing instead of rapping.

I've been listening to this band since I was 13 now I'm in my 30s and still jamming to LP
If Linkin Park were to continue. A clear path forward would be with just Mike on vocals. Nobody can replace Chester or even compare. But Mike is a familiar voice to casual fans of the band and he's so versatile as a Vocalist. He can rap, he can sing. This song right here is a prime example of his range and the type of performance that would work.
Yeah hearing songs like this, no roads left, rebellion, castle of glass, sorry for now etc it's clear Mike is able to hold his own as a singer. He's no Chester but honestly who is?
